Breaking Blt News!

So my guide just called back and talked to DH. He said he just added it to our contract:cool1: Now the next question is...How can I be sure he "added" it in, because I would have nothing to show, that I am suppose to get these points. Am I just being paranoid now?:rolleyes1

So it sounds like the new deal for BLT is $112 minus $5 AND matching developer points:dance3: I think I'm ready for a 100pt add on...

Thanks again to the OP for posting this breaking news.... so awesome!!!

We are thinking of buying into BLT. How do developer points work? Are they limited to the time period you can use them and the resort? Can you pick which resort you want to stay in?

crocnzen:If I were you, I would definitely call your guide. Our guide said he added it to the contract. I don't know if we'll need another contract, but if you haven't sent back your paperwork, you should be able to get the points.

I have no idea how the points really work. I know there are some restrictions, but I like to get them first and figure it out later. It's like and early Christmas present.

DH and I were ready to buy about 2 weeks ago. I told him I wanted to hold off until November 1 to see if any new offers came out (no big deal since we can't use the points until next fall anyway). I've been too busy with other stuff this week to call back our guide and get moving. I actually talked to DH last night and said - if you're sure I'll call today after work and make the purchase. So, we were ready to sign on the dotted line today anyway!! Now we get an extra trip or 2 out of it! :) :yay: :yay: :yay: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hmmm, sounds like another BLT add-on is going to happen for me. I was waiting for a better incentive before March 1.

our guide said that the developer points have to be used by Oct 3, 2009 no matter when you buy in. Not sure why..so it's not the 12 month rule like it was at AKV. Also, if you do the 100 point add on, you have to use your developer points at SSR.

There is another piece of paperwork that you should receive about the DP's. You shouldn't return your paperwork until you have it all. It might be a good idea to call the quality control number that is listed on your paperwork to make certain they are sending out the additional contract info. We had to go thru this when we did our add on at AKV in June. At first I wasn't aware there was a seperate agreement for the DP's and almost sent everything back without it!

OMG not to hijack this thread, but Andrea (peanut1) you must tell us who your daughters were seeign in that photo. The sheer happiness on your daughter's face made tears spring to my eyes!!

Anyone know how long this offer is going to last?

I am touring DVC with DH in late Jan (and I really don't think I can get him to commit without a tour) and was planning on buying BCV at resale and then adding on at BLT (making the two contracts have the same UY). But now maybe I should really push for BLT before xmas and then do a resale. I'd love to get extra points!!!!!

My guide just called and gave the same information posted here, we are so tempted to buy :thumbsup2

It would seem that with the upcoming reduction in AKV incentive, and teh addition of developers points for BLT, that sales tour purchases have been skewing more towards AKV than expected.

what about akv though? why wouldn't they offer the same developer points? anyone think they will

I just spoke to my guide and bought BLT!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

He said they're planning to raise the min points buy in at BLT, so this offer will be limited time to let anyone that was on the fence get in before they do that. DH and I were already planning a trip to WDW this spring for our 1st anniversary (can't do an anniversary trip outside of Disney when you got married there, right?) so now we're getting that for free while we're rebuilding our savings from our DVC purchase!!

We did get the developer points (our guide said the standard use rules of SSR, Disneyland, etc apply) and the $5 off per point! :yay: :yay: :yay:

that is so cute...honestly though, I think they were just happy!. We were at Sesame Place for a halloween party thing and there were characters all around and they were making pumpkins so it was just fun times.

A reminder here - this thread has been edited to remove references to referring guides or members for purchases. We have allocated This Thread as a location for that type of discussion.

Nice to see so many are able to take advantage of this new offer! Still holding out here for Grand Californian, though..

Thank you, KAT4DISNEY. It's good to know that additional paperwork should be coming for the DP's. I'd like to just "trust," but having things on paper always makes me feel better.

A guide told me "maybe January" that's as much as he seems to know.

I spoke with my guide today as well. Here is the full info she gave me:

The $5 off per point remains --so it's $107 per point.

Then there are two choices:

(a) a matching set of points to be used by 10/3/09 at either Saratoga Springs, Disneyland Resort or the World Passport Exchange (which I guess we could use to exchange the points -- does anyone know how this works and what the value is?); OR

(b) a 5 night stay in a 1 bedroom (assuming we buy at least 220 points) at any DVC resort or a 3 night stay in a 1 br (assuming we buy at least 160 points) at any DVC resort. This also must be used by 10/3/09.

Our guide thought that option (a) was a better deal if you don't mind SSR. I am wondering how hard it would be to get a ressie for a 1br for 5 or 3 nights prior to 10/3/09 if we chose option (b). Or, how hard it would be to get a ressie for SSR if we chose option (a)?

The other question I have is, could we rent these points/the reservation for either option? The incentive is great and all, but I have a newborn baby and don't think we'll be able to go until November/December of 2009, which is when we were planning on using the BLT points we were considering buying....

Thanks!
