Breakfast Transportation Question

I know this is going to seem like a ridiculous question, but here I am asking it! I grew up as a kid going to Disney World numerous times, but my family and I were never really "breakfast eaters" so we usually just skipped that meal. (I know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but.... that's how we roll)

Well now, I am grown and going on my first Disney Trip ever without my traditional family crew. It will be my husband and I going and HE LOVES BREAKFAST. It's his favorite meal of the day, without question, give him pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it, he loves it. With that said, I scheduled breakfast reservations at Kona Cafe, Cape May Cafe, and Olivia's. We are staying at Pop Century and our reservations are all at 7:30am or 8:00am. Growing up, my family and I would usually head to the parks at normal hours that we KNEW the buses would be running at.

So my question is: Will the buses be running that early in the morning to get us to where we need to go? I'm concerned we will have to leave so early that there won't be any buses available to start our voyage to our reservations.

Thank you!

There are no buses between resorts. If you don’t have a car your best bet will be Uber.

Sorry I should have clarified, I know that buses don't run between resorts. I would be taking the bus to Magic Kingdom and taking the monorail to Poly. I will be going to Hollywood Studios to walk to Cape May. I was just curious to see if buses would be running to the parks at this time or not?

Relying on disney buses and the monorail to hit a 7:30 or 8am breakfast reservation is just setting yourself up for grief and worry. The poly reservation is bus and then either monorail or ferry to TTC (then a short walk to grand ceremonial house). Olivia's is going to be bus to park bus to resort. Cape may cafe is bus to DHS and then a 15 minute walk. Compare that to a sedate ride via uber at a nominal price right to the resort.

I'd uber every one of these.

They include information on what times the buses will run from and until. Since things are based on park opening times, you're going to have to adjust accordingly, especially if you're going from Resort A -> Park -> Resort B where breakfast is.
That's wrong.

Buses start about 6:30 AM every day, unless that park opens really early (6:30, 7:00...) in which case they start an hour before.

Allow 60 minutes to any park, 90 minutes if you need to get to a different resort.

Here is a link showing the transportation map for WDW:

I've never stayed at Pop Century and thus have no idea how long it takes to get to any of the parks from that locale. However if the first bus starts running 45 minutes before park opening you'll need to know what time MK opens on the day(s) you want to eat at Kona; Epcot or HS for Cape May (you can walk or boat from either park to the Boardwalk just remember that the Epcot boat is only accessible from the IG), and whatever park is nearest Olivia's.

Without knowing the true answer to any of those questions or what time any FPs are, I'm really not sure if you want to go through the possible stress of attempting 3 early breakfast ADRs using WDW public transport. Should you think it's worth it Uber would probably be a good thing.
As far as the actual venues are concerned, I've eaten at Kona Cafe when it opened w/o an ADR and only had a 5 minute wait since I was staying at Poly and went the moment the resturant opened.

HTH and have fun whatever you choose to do.

Oh boy, those early Morning meals are going to be a stressful in terms of transportaion unless yourself Lyft or uber.

Personally, I would either have breakfast in my resort in the food court and take the bus to the parks from there, or I would book breakfast in the park unless there is a burning desire for something on the menu.

For your Epcot day, Garden Grill is a wonderful way to start the day. The food is awesome, it is in the park and you still have a character experience.

For your MK day, the Plaza haas a lovely breakfast and again, it is in the park.

I would not book Olivia's without using Lyft. Tha resort is cumbersome in terms of bus transportation, it is gorgeous but you are going to get a tour of that resort on the bus. The logistics of getting there in the morning are making my head hurt and I am not trying to manage that for myself..

Maybe it's like the monorail where it's scheduled to start 45 minutes before the earliest park opening of the day?

I agree that what they post is confusing (surprisingly, a lot of their content actually is), but I don't see it being -wrong-. A call to them should clarify.

Actually, the first stop in OKW is the Hospitality House which is where the restaurant is. It's also the last stop for the park buses and getting in when it first stop at HH will result in a "tour" since it will stop there again before leaving.

If you're doing an Animal Kingdom day, have you considered Boma at AK Lodge for breakfast? It's a great buffet.

I hate to question, but are you sure? Granted, it's been a few years since I stayed there, but the park buses used to start at Peninsular Road, then Turtle Pond, South Point, Miller's Road, then aHospitality House as the last stop before exiting the resort.

Disney Springs buses started at HH, then followed the park bus route, which effectively had them operating as the internal buses, as well.

Nothing stopping anyone from getting off the bus at Peninsular Rowd and making the extremely short walk to HH, of course!

Not true for theme park buses, only Disney Springs and the Internal buses stop at the HH first. But you can get off the buses at Peninsular Road and walk over to the HH.

To be honest, if my boyfriend and I were in the same situation we'd take Uber or a cab. Many of the above responses, while they may be accurate, sound like too much hassle to think about at 6-6:30 am.

In December there was a long ride.

I agree with the PP's who suggest uber or lyft. When WDW recommends 90 minutes of travel time between destinations, they aren't kidding. We learned the hard way simply trying to get to a Cali Grill dinner from BC - and this was at a time of the day when buses were running full force. We allowed 90 minutes and almost didn't make it.

I appreciate it! My husband and I planned on using Uber but I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to make a "rookie" mistake by going that route!

Thank you! I appreciate all of your help and everyone else's as well! I have it planned and budgeted to use Uber, but I didn't want to do so and then find out I made a mistake and could of simply used some other alternative!

Thank you all very much!

Agreed as well. DH infamously sprinted from the TTC to the Poly to get to an Ohana reservation. We were 20 minutes later than we planned leaving the hotel, leaving us about 70 minutes to get to the Poly from BC (by way of MK). The bus to MK was fine, we took a little bit at security, and then we waited forever for the monorail. Then the monorail was held at every stop. Plan on 90 minutes and stick to it if using Disney transportation.
