Breakfast at PCH Grill then monorail?

They do make you get off in TL, so anyone who wishes to ride it within the park can. I don't think that they should make people get off in DTD, since it's outside the park. I think they'd upset way more people forcing them to ride half the loop, get off and get back in line to ride the other half.

I agree. The monorail is still considered an attraction with the added benefit of serving as transportation, so while people get on in Tomorrowland, they won't have to exit at Downtown Disney, unless they want to.

For what it's worth, we did this yesterday morning! My DD really wanted to ride the monorail, and we were having breakfast at PCH. By the time we were done with breakfast and through the GCH, it was past park opening, maybe 9:30 am? There was a line and we almost skipped it, but decided to stay. I'm actually glad we did, the line moved pretty quickly and when we past DD security, the line was just as long. It also helped that the first thing I wanted to do was pull a FP for Hyperspace and then go to the Matterhorn. It was also our last day in the park, so we had already done all of our Main Street/ castle pictures. So I wouldn't rule it out completely

Oh my yes I totally forgot about this! Another reason why I really dislike the monorail. If you're trying to get on at DTD the people who are already on the monorail from TL never get off. I really think they should make it a rule that if you get on at one stop you have to get off at the next. The train isn't as big of a deal since there are multiple stops and it never leaves the park but the monorail only having two stops and having like only 10 people get off drives me crazy.

It is an attraction - you do not have to get off other attractions half way through! I can't imagine Disney ever doing this - what an inefficient thing to do - take the time to have to force people to get off the train only to have them walk around and get right back on again?

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'm thinking of doing it on one of our later/last days in the park, and I totally agree, there is nothing quite like walking down Main street in the morning to start your day!! I know we will have that on one or two other days already. We are visiting in April when crowds might (hopefully!) be a little lighter so I'll keep this advice in mind. The kids might really like it. :)

I'm not certain, but am thinking it is year round. I know I had one in October last year.

I have heard nothing about the monorail at DLR going down. I bet it's the train you're thinking of.

There are only 2 stops on the DLR monorail..... one in DL next to the Nemo Subs and the one at DTD, very near EOS. It's like an EOS express!

The one thing to keep in mind is that it does close when it gets really hot as it has no A/C.

wait... the monorail doesn't have AC? We are going in August, and the monorail at WDW is basically my favorite thing ever, so I have to ride it here.... oh dear. Also, do you have the option to just ride it without getting into the park? Like if on my first night I want to ride it just to ride it, can I loop through from the DTD stop? I read something somewhere that made it sound like if you were on it you had to exit in DL...

No A/C. Park admission is required to ride, even from DTD. Everyone must exit at the TL stop, whether they rode the full loop or got on in DTD.

It was down a lot when we were there in late October. I'm baffled by the "no A/C" thing too.

But it cools down a lot in the evenings (unlike WDW). So if you miss it during the day, check back later at night.

The entrance in DTD is actually considered a park entrance location with ticket scanning and security/bag check.

How disappointing! I'm too spoiled, I guess from WDW as we spend our first night "monorail chasing" as we call it and find every color and ride through Epcot, etc.

I will be so disappointed if we have to miss out because it's too hot. How strange, lol I mean it IS California, not like heat is surprising...
