Decided to do a character breakfast and Goofy's Kitchen seemed very appealing. Our reservation is for 9 am and I have questions about everything.
How good is the food quality? Is it very loud and crowded? (I've been to chef mickey's so i'm kinda expecting something similar) What characters usually show up? Also any additional info would be great thanks

We returned from our 1st Disneyland family trip from June 13th-20. We had a WONDERFUL time by the way:banana::banana: Goofy's Kitchen was our very 1st meal/breakfast for our trip on our 1st day to Disneyland after arriving at the Grand Californian, where we stayed. We had a tiny walk that I kind of underestimated when I first made the reservations which was for 7:10 I think that morning. But........no worries, we made it right smack dot on time. It is located off the side like of the Disneyland Hotel. The CM staff when we arrived were very friendly. We checked in and waited for just a few minutes and then were called to get our picture taken with Goofy and then we were taken to our table to be seated. It is really set up very well. A HUGE buffet where you had pretty much whatever you wanted. Our server brought us OJ and coffee and always came to refill when we needed. The one server even brought me cream cheese when I didn't have any at my table for my bagle. They had an omelet station. They had bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, some rice dish, fruits, a peanut butter and jelly like pizza, bagels, pastries of all kinds. There was so much, I can't name it all, LOL but it was all VERY good! It was a PERFECT breakfast to start our 1st day at Disneyland. We enjoyed it VERY much! The character interaction was immediate and plentiful. They were GREAT! We had Chip N Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Baloo, and Cinderella too! We didn't get to have her come to the table because she didn't arrive until we were finished with our meal and we tried waiting but there was a couple b-days being celebrated there so there was singing at the tables where she was at and she was on the other side of where we were eating. We couldn't stay any longer and daughter and I already had reservations for Ariel's Grotto Princess Lunch later in the week so we knew we would see her then. They played a couple games where they announced for the kids to come and join in the fun and dance, etc. Both my kids went and had fun! It was well worth it!:yay: I haven't gotten my pics downloaded yet but I do have pics from when we were there that I'll try and post as soon as I can :) Definitely put Goofy's Kitchen on your must trys when you go. You won't regret it:thumbsup2 HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

The food is good! French toast Creme Brulee is a must to try, heavenly! There is lots of variety including peanut butter and jam pizza! Can't go wrong with Goofy's and usually lots of character action! Have a great time!

It wasn't crowded when we arrived because we had one of the first reservations but once we were ready to leave, it started filling up bigtime! As far as noise, if it were totally packed, then the noise level might be more so but when we went at the time we picked, it was pretty quiet except when they had the times when they called the kids up to dance and all. It was alot of fun and the food was TOP NOTCH!!!!

Not for us, we went and had a terrible time, there were like 3 characters that came to our table (the others all just waved and walked out), the food was good but nothing that we simply couldn't live without, and we felt rushed at the end of our meal, we were only there for about an hour but the "server" (who rarely stopped by our table and only cleared plates once) was hovering so we felt very rushed. The only time I would do GK again was if I was going with Sherry, she's the only person who could convince me to try it again! lol We'd rather do Lilo & Stitch or Minnie & Friends.

Hubby had the french toast and loved it and I had those YUM YUM YUMMY Mickey waffles. I just LOVE:lovestruc those Mickey waffles, almost as much as I love those Disney CORNDOGS:love: Have fun when you go!!!

Just a suggestion from my personal experience. Book the earliest reservation. We did and I think it was a smart choice. We had 7:10 reservations for Goofy's, Minne and Friends and Storytellers Cafe Breakfast with Chip n Dale and weren't disappointed at any of them. I'm not saying that later times are not as good experiences but I think when you get everyone fresh early, you have a better chance with less people, ya know?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Oh, I wouldn't make you do that! I would go to a place you liked! Believe me, I have been with various friends to GK over the years and they all liked it well enough, but not enough to want to pay that $$$ every time, and so I got lucky with my one friend who really loves Goofy's like I do. If she didn't love it the same way, there is no way she would pay that kind of money for it on each trip and she would not go back there again, which means I would nto be going there (unless I went alone!) each trip either. She doesn't speak up about a lot of things but she will speak up to me if she doesn't like the food somewhere. So I lucked out with her because I never have to convince her to go. It is no fun going with anyone if I feel like I am torturing them!:lmao: In fact, I wanted to eat GK in a few weeks on my birthday, and I know my one friend will be gung ho, but I was thinking of telling my other non-character-loving friends to meet us there and then I thought, "No...they will kill me if I force them into a character meal because it's my birthday." So I don't want anyone to be miserable!

OP, there is a wide variety of things to choose from at the Goofy's breakfast buffet, including the previously mentioned creme brulee French toast, Mickey-shaped cobbler, these banana crepe thingies, delicious fruit and bacon (the bacon rocks at all the character meals, I think), pastries and croissants, mini-muffins, mini-Mickey waffles, P. B & J pizza, worms and dirt, regular pizza, chicken - really, a lot of the same things that are probably at all the character buffets, and then some. The regular characters that I always see - based on the time we usually eat there, I think - are Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Baloo, and usually a couple of Princesses. It seems like other characters show up at different times of day, so you may run into Minnie, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook, the Genie, an occasional Max appearance, maybe the Fairy Godmother - and, breaking news - someone just posted that they saw Donald at Goofy's the other day! I don't think I have seen Donald there since the '90s! Pixiewings71 is right - sometimes there may be only a handful of characters there at one time for some reason (staff meetings, maybe? Not sure why that happens!) and other reports from people say that there is an abundance of characters there when they are there. I have seen it all different ways - where there are only 3, where there are 5 or 6, and in the old days, where there were maybe 8 or 9 of them roaming around at one time. I guess there is no way to tell exactly how many will be there at the time you go, but I think you should have a great time (I hope)!!:thumbsup2

Yep. We usually do the early seatings too, like 7 - 7:30-ish, and it seems to be a little less crowded then, I have noticed. The people start to trickle in as the morning wears on, and then they empty out again by late morning to hit the parks, I think.

But I'd go Sherry, because I know you wouldn't force me, and because you're special and worth it. :) At least for 1 more try. :)
