Breakfast add on - need for reservation?

Hello everyone!

Both my husband and I are DLP lovers, having been annual passholders many moons ago when we were living in Brussels (2003-2005). We have not been back since we returned to New York in 2005, and are so excited to be going back this October. We can't wait!

We have already booked our stay at Newport Bay Club, and decided to get the breakfast meal plan add on. When I made the booking, it did not specify where the breakfast would be, other than "at your resort hotel." I am guessing this breakfast will be at Cape Cod - do I have that right? Assuming yes, when I look at the description for Cape Cod on the website, it does reference a buffet breakfast, along with at "Handy Tip: Remember to book your breakfast when you reserve your stay." But when I try to make a reservation through the website, it seems that it's only possible to make dinner reservations.

Could someone here please let me know whether our breakfast will be at Cape Cod, and if so whether a reservation is recommended (or even possible)?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any help.

Yes your breakfast will be at Cape Cod.

You dont book a breakfast reservation, you need to add the breakfast only meal plan option to your booking.

You need to log in and go to the meal plan section and find the breakfast only option for your hotel New Port Bay.
It will then be added to the overall cost of your package.

When you check in the breakfast only meal plan will be added to your room account and accessible on your room card. On the day you just turn up and they will swipe your room card and take off the breakfast credit for that day.

At Disneyland Paris your room key gets loaded with your park tickets and any extras like meal plans.

Thanks for your response! Sorry, it took me a long time to make my way back here. I did add the breakfast-only option when we made the booking, so it sounds like we should be all set. Everything you say makes sense, and is as I expected. I was just surprised at the Handy Tip that popped up, "Remember to book your breakfast when you reserve your stay." I suppose that I was reading that too literally.

Anyway, thanks again. :-)

To be fair, that phrase might be a hangover from when breakfasts were included in most (all?) packages pre-2019. In those days you were recommended to book a time for your breakfasts each day as the restaurants would get very busy at peak times. You could still turn up without a reservation and then there might be a 5-10 minute wait for a table, which doesn't sound much, but when you were trying to get breakfast done as quickly as possible so that it didn't eat into your on-site extra park hour, it could make a difference.

Nowadays, given only 20-30% of guests book a hotel breakfast now (my estimate, not based on anything other than vibes and personal observations), you're usually seated straight away regardless of when you turn up.

Can you have a breakfast at the resort restaurant if you are not on the meal plan? If not what options are there other than McDonalds? We're at the NBC too and I can only handle so many meals at McD's :rotfl:

There is a breakfast only meal plan which you need to add on to your booking and then it will get added on to your room card. They then swipe your room card each morning when you go to breakfast. I dont think you can just turn up and pay on the day.

You can now buy a single day's breakfast at your hotel - this didn't used to be the case, but it is possible now. However the cost is quite steep, especially at the higher end hotels (but then their buffet offerings are more extensive).

Expect to pay around €20 per person at Santa Fe and Cheyenne, €30 at Sequoia, NPB and Marvel and €40+ at the Disneyland Hotel.
