Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Christine, have you seen the list of everthing to be offered at each of the food booths yet. Lots of new stuff to sample!

Three words for you:

Just scanning PTRs and saying HI!
AND I just had to share this b/c you were trying to enable me earlier...

Do you know, that with my AP discount and the JetBlue air fare I can get Oct 1 - 4 I could stay at a Moderate for 96.00 a night and fly RT with EXCELLENT times, for 149.00 total cost? Give or take a few dollars, but that is under $500.00... NO dining, that would be extra, but am I missing something here...

HOLY COW that is cheap, right??!! Well.... still can't but I just thought I would share !!!!:lmao: Anyone reading this PTR who lives in the DC area and has an AP, what are you waiting for!!??!!!

You know I would :rolleyes:--- sorry Christine for totally swiping your PTR but I just wanted to tell someone!!! :lmao:

I don't see the DP offers coming close to this... but it is because of the park ticket, I think.. Anyhoo, it is really really tempting.

DH is going to laugh me out of the house tonight!!! :rotfl:

Do it! Do it! Do it! :rolleyes1

HA -- I REAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY wish I could, but I think we are going to add a few days at Christmas, and DH said if I want to go solo in March I could do that, so I guess this isn't toooo bad... I still can't get over the cost!!!! Unbelievable!

SOOOOOOOOO Christine, et al, I am COUNTING ON A STELLAR TR When this is all done!!!! :thumbsup2

My 40th birthday is October 1st (which I share with the anniversary of the opening of WDW) and I would love to be there for my birthday and how cool to meet all of you! Alas, not in my cards, unless Grumpy is planning a super suprise :lmao::lmao: so have a drink for me that day! Something Champagne-ish!

Joining in a little bit late but at least I made it!!

Sounds like you have a FABULOUS trip planned! I'm so jealous! Food, drinks and wonderful Diser friends! What more could you ask for?!

I love, love WS and would love to do F&W! Well, we actually were there for F&W but I was pregnant! :headache: Gotta go back!

Oh my food & wine friends. I have been neglecting my PTR. :sad2: Summer FINALLY came to Connecticut and I have been trying to enjoy it. But that does not mean that I haven't continued to look forward to this trip!

Yeah! One more for drinks on Friday night!

Just let me know about EE. I just wrote out my touring plans for that day. Planning on hitting EE at least twice

I am freaking out on EE. I was set to go but then read another TR where the person really didn't like it. I know... being silly. I will hopefully be able to muster the courage. If nothing else don't want to be called a chicken on other peoples' TR's! :laughing:

Well....after booking the Podcast cruise Joe said "We HAVE to cut back on our vacationing."

To which I eagerly nodded and agreed FULL WELL KNOWING he would never ever ever follow through on that. Half the vacations we take are because he wants to! Of course, I never ever oppose!

So, we are booked for December this year. Then December (Podcast Cruise) 2010, which we will turn into a land/sea.

October is our anniversary month and we really, really love it down there during this time.

So chances are yes. See you next year!

Cut back on vacationing?? :scared: Is Joe nuts? I love that you nod along knowing he doesn't really mean it! :rotfl2: And don't you think vacations are just enriched with the possibilities of meeting various DIS'ers. I really never ever dreamed of it but have made so many great friends here! :goodvibes

See ya next year! :upsidedow

Oh no!! We were all counting on getting a juicy TR!!!

No worries, Floss. I'm sure I can't make this crew sign the agreements. :rotfl: I think you'll have plenty of fun TR detail to read about. I can't even begin to imagine all that will happen on this trip... :sad2: :hyper: :banana: :cool1: :woohoo:

Christine, have you seen the list of everthing to be offered at each of the food booths yet. Lots of new stuff to sample!

I am looking forward to studying it more carefully! I looked quickly and was happy to see the return of some favorites - the Mouse Trap (cheese!) kiosk, beef empanada, lobster roll and some others. And of course the booze! But am also really looking forward to trying some new things and branching out!

Three words for you:

Champagne and Chambourd

Allyson

:cloud9: Oooh that sounds good. I have some prosecco in the fridge and think there may be chambourd in the bar. That could be my happy hour today! :)

Holy cow, yes that IS cheap. And if you think my "trying" enable you was over... guess again. ;)

Can't? Can't? As Master Yoda would say, do or do not, there is no try. You must do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would be there the exact same time as me.

C'mon -- make it happen, HappyDog!

Yes, make it happen! Think of the fun we'd have!!!

No apologies necessary. I love the conversation. But you MUST go! Did you tell DH? You could always bunk with me (insert evil enabling smiley here) . :rolleyes1

Do it! Do it! Do it!

What she said! :flower3:

I choose d) all of the above! There will certainly be a stellar TR but all the better if you are part of it!! :goodvibes

Your 40th?? Well, you MUST come. No question. Seriously. Get googling, sister, and find out what kinds of airfare you can find! Give me Grumpy's # and I'll give him some inspiration on your gift! :)

Really, do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Once in a lifetime. Would be really fun.... :rolleyes1

Hi there! Thanks for joining. I promise to be more attentive going forward. Hanging head in shame. I honestly don't know what more I could ask for regarding this trip! When I think it started as me booking solo on bounceback last Dec and has now blossomed into meeting AT LEAST 10 DISers who I "talk" with often I am OVER THE MOON!

Oooh, pregnant for F&W. That is tough. You need a re-do! Wanna come along?? :upsidedow

So I've been through the parks with must do's, never done's and would like to do's so it is on to the resorts and Downtown Disney! :thumbsup2

I made these lists prior to finalizing the plans for this TR so happily some of my would like to's have turned into will-do's! ::yes::

RESORTS

MUST DO’S
* At this time of year – only one place to stay… Epcot resort area! Beach Club Baaaabbbbyyy! :cool1:

NEVER DONE

* Watch Wishes from the Poly Beach. Speaking of the Poly… I don’t know if I’ve ever been there. Which means I also haven’t tried Kona or the Lapu Lapu… :rolleyes1.
* Spa – I think I would like to try a spa visit. It’s so much walking. Wouldn’t a nice relaxing pedi or massage be divine in the middle of the trip? If I can tear myself away from the parks, that is! Actual plan: Pedis with the crew on the MNSSHP night! :thumbsup2
* Chef Mickeys. Well, not entirely true. I could swear that I ate at a Chef Mickey’s as a kid but that was when it was located in the “Village” now Downtown Disney. Actual plan: breakfast with Jen and Paula! :yay:
* Wave – would like to try this too.
* Grand Floridian Tea- I will admit this is growing on me. At first I thought “no way” but the more reports I read and pictures I see, the more I think I might try it. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that one of the tea packages also comes w/ a glass of champagne. ;) Actual plan: doing tea on the same day as the pedis and MNSSHP! :woohoo:

WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS TRIP (in addition to the must do’s)Spa
* California Grill – at Wishes time Planned :thumbsup2
* Monorail tour of resorts
* Kona.
* Yachtsman Steak House? Planned :thumbsup2
* Beaches ‘n Cream – cheeseburgers in paradise 2009. ‘Nuff said. Planned :thumbsup2
* Jiko/view animals via night goggles/drink at Victoria Falls Lounge Planned :thumbsup2
* Explore the Boardwalk area more at night
* Night swimming – LL inspired me

Am I missing anything???

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

MUST DO’S
* Margarita from the margarita stand- if you have not had a margarita from here take it from me... you MUST. Go for the premium. It is worth it. And this is your view:

DSCF0134-1.jpg

* World of Disney- I always find SO much I "need" in here. :rolleyes1

NEVER DONE
* Wolfgang Puck Express - I know.. can you believe it?? :confused3
* Circque de Soleil
* Goofy’s Candy Company. I know! What can I say? I don’t really have a sweet tooth.
* Disney Quest
* Ghiardelli- I will say it always smells heavenly any time I pass by!

WOULD LIKE TO DO (in addition to must do’s):
* New Mexican/Latin restaurant
* Tren-D shop
* Tattoos- yes this is in addition to the henna tatto in Morocco. I am going to be inked up after this trip! :laughing:
* Balloon ride?- has anyone tried this?
* Raglan Road- really enjoyed a meal here in '06
* Browse all the shops in detail – esp the kitchen store
* Ghiardelli – despite not having a sweet tooth the smell is very tempting. Think I have to try it! Something decadently rich and chocolately.
* New Waterfront Restaurant Coming to Pleasure Island This May
Paradiso 37, a high-energy restaurant and bar featuring delectable North-, South- and Central-American cuisine, will open its doors in May at Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort. The lakeside eatery's menu features offerings representing 37 countries of the Americas, plus an international wine bar, 37 varieties of tequila and 10 signature frozen margaritas!

37 varieties of tequila?! :faint: I hope to meet Disney Deeva and some others here (or anywhere!) before our Adventurer's Club dinner!

What else? Any other Downtown Disney faves I'm missing?

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm looking forward to our combined adventures too!

Based on a few different TR's I've read, I think I need a separate Tren-D budget. I can't wait to shop here! Someone better hold me back! And better wait on the margarita 'til after! :rolleyes1

Awww..but think of all the stuff you desperately need that will be so much easier to acquire after a margarita or two LOL :rolleyes1

Okay I have been reading this exchange -- Tren-D was very cool! Margarita then Shop -- it is the ONLY way :laughing:

Thanks for letting me know about the Margarita hut at DTD, we LOVE a good Margarita...

Thanks for all the enabling and arm twisting... really. BUT I think I am really not going to be able to sneak out that weekend, ESPECIALLY since my dang Dh has his 20th HS reunion that weekend. MAJOR let down!!! :headache: Like I want to go to that.... now if I can figure out a way to say I don't need to go... well... :scratchin

RESORTS

* Wave – would like to try this too.

GO to the WAVE!!!! If you don't do dinner, at least go to the BAR!!! EASY walk from MK to Contemporary for a "pick-me up" one night, then back!!!! ;)
Way cool interior..

* Grand Floridian Tea- I will admit this is growing on me. At first I thought “no way” but the more reports I read and pictures I see, the more I think I might try it. The whole tea thing is FABULOUS... so get excited! How fun! We did High Tea at the Ritz in London back on our Honeymoon many moons ago... it was so lavish and NEAT!!!!

I want to know what it is like GF style, and on the same day as a pedicure ??!! :cloud9: Indeed!!!!

Oooh, pregnant for F&W. That is tough. You need a re-do! Wanna come along?? :upsidedow

:rotfl: LOL!! Tempting offer! Believe me, very, very tempting! Especially because I had told DH that I was going to go alone in Oct but then changed my mind! But I'm saving that for next Oct! I have a secret trip planned in my head and plan to tell him "remember when I didn't go last Oct..." ;)

Hmmm, I'm looking at your lists!

Ive been to poly, acutally stayed there in March! But we didn't have a chance to watch wishes from the beach :eek: Terrible I know! Especially because we stayed in an MK view room!!!!

Anyway, definitely, definitely try a Lapu Lapu!!!! Soooo yummy! Very strong, but very yummy!!! Kona is great too!! Tonga Toast for breakfast and Kona Coffee :cloud9:

The spa at GF is to die for!! I totally suggest getting a massage too! I had a massage there in March and it was WONDERFUL!!! I think I may make it part of every WDW vacation ;)

The cheeseburgers at B&C are yummy as well as the onion rings! But I must admit, I enjoyed the ice cream a whole lot more :rolleyes1

Where is the Margarita stand in DTD?! I need me some more margaritas!! I enjoy the ones in Mexico a lot!! Actually, in March I didn't make it too a Margarita in Mexico because we had started at the other end of the world! I had a giant headache by Mexico :sad2: Next trip we're starting at the Mexico side of the World!!!!

I've never been to Goofys Candy Shop or Ghiardelli either :scared1: I hope to remedy at least the Goofys Candy Shop part in Jan!!

Couple things.

One: 37 different kinds of tequila? WOO HOO! :thumbsup2

Two: What Adventurer's Club dinner? :goodvibes

Oh, I love these lists, C, and I love that you will be experiencing so many new things on this trip! I have a feeling you are going to have an absolute blast!
