Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Ok that list was a little freaky........because I picked out just about the same items to try. :woohoo:

Great minds, as they say, Heidi! :thumbsup2 Looks like we'll be getting along just fine. And hopefully not fighting eachother for the last empanada! :laughing:

What a list C!!! It's dinner time here and I wasn't hungry before but I'm hungry now LOL!!!!!!!!

There are many things on there that I really want to try too!! P and I have a greed to share many things so we can try a lot more!!

I'm not even going there with the weight because I know what you gain I'll gain more LOL!!!

Sharing is a great idea. Unless it is REALLY yummy and you want it all to yourself. ;) But then I suppose you can just get another one. See? No problems in WDW!

My only hope is that all the walking in WDW will offset some portion of the calorie intake. :confused3

I'm waiting until DCA is finished it's re-do before I head out to Cali. And the Walt Disney Family Museum opens this October so that will be cool to add to a Disneyland tour.

That would be cool. I'd like to get out to Disneyland again too. I feel like I didn't fully appreciate it when I went in 07.

OOOH...see its events like this that make me want to be come a D23 member, I might just have to cave and become one LOL!!!! I would love to be able to get a glimpse at some of the future ideas Disney has in mind its parks!!!!!

You are updating so fast I can't keep up!!!!

They truly have some amazing events if you are in a position to take advantage of them. And I thoroughly enjoy the magazine as well. I'm all about the little things! :upsidedow

I am really excited about and also a little scared of your list. :lmao: So many things to eat and drink, so little time!!!

Hey, you're going to see BBVDD on the 26th? Why did I think you were going to be there and having dinner at Rose and Crown on the 27th?

I know. But I'm sure we'll all make a valiant effort to fit it all in - literally and figuratively! :rotfl2: Probably my fault on the schedule confusion- I still don't have it straight in my head. But R&C and BBVD is definitely on Saturday for us. On Sun we have ADRs at Cali Grill! :cloud9:

Oh, I got confuzzled.

You're going to love the Cali Grill. Nummy. :goodvibes

OMG, you got Mickey Mail!!!!!:cool1: How fun and what a great list!!! Boy, I thought I was a list maker, I've got nothing on you!!;) Now I'm off to bed and will be dreaming of wonderful drink and food...thanks to you!!! And I'm game for the weight gain challenge.....lol!!:laughing: Is it bad when you're dieting before your trip so you can gain on it?!! Like me!?!!:rotfl:

Look at that Mickey Mail!! Your lists look great!! I can't wait to see what you are able to accomplish. :thumbsup2

World Showcase Wine Walk - $20 for six wines Don’t even need fuzzy Disney math to justify that! Floss- you were wondering about German wines – the 2 from Germany on the walk are Valekenberg Madonna Spatlese and Valkengerg Madonna Liebframilch. Ever try either of those?

Ok, my first reaction was: stay away from these!!! Liebfraumilch in Germany is considered to be cheap overly sweet wine of bad quality. But then I really did not want to give you an uninformed opinion. After some googling and use of Wikipedia (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebfraumilch) I must say that this sounds interesting. Valckenberg is the company that first started to export Liebfraumilch to the UK and US. Others copied it and started mass producing sweet wine. So this might actually be very interesting! The wikipedia article states that the Valckenberg Liebfraumilch is available at the Germany pavillion in Epcot. I think I might need to try it myself when I am there in January!

Oh and by the way, the Spätlese is a very sweet wine, too. The name implies that the grapes were picked very late in the year, so they had more time to become very sweet.

OK now I'm intriqued.... I'm not a wine drinker... but when I do I like the sweet kinds.:goodvibes How often is this wine walk offered???

Paula

So I've been through the parks with must do's, never done's and would like to do's so it is on to the resorts and Downtown Disney! :thumbsup2

I made these lists prior to finalizing the plans for this TR so happily some of my would like to's have turned into will-do's! ::yes::

RESORTS

MUST DO’S
* At this time of year – only one place to stay… Epcot resort area! Beach Club Baaaabbbbyyy! :cool1:

NEVER DONE

* Watch Wishes from the Poly Beach. Speaking of the Poly… I don’t know if I’ve ever been there. Which means I also haven’t tried Kona or the Lapu Lapu… :rolleyes1. Wishes from the beach is so relaxing
* Spa – I think I would like to try a spa visit. It’s so much walking. Wouldn’t a nice relaxing pedi or massage be divine in the middle of the trip? If I can tear myself away from the parks, that is! Actual plan: Pedis with the crew on the MNSSHP night! :thumbsup2 That sounds like a good cure for sore feet
* Chef Mickeys. Well, not entirely true. I could swear that I ate at a Chef Mickey’s as a kid but that was when it was located in the “Village” now Downtown Disney. Actual plan: breakfast with Jen and Paula! :yay: Yeah...That is going to be a fun breakfast
* Wave – would like to try this too. Loved the Wave - good choice
* Grand Floridian Tea- I will admit this is growing on me. At first I thought “no way” but the more reports I read and pictures I see, the more I think I might try it. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that one of the tea packages also comes w/ a glass of champagne. ;) Actual plan: doing tea on the same day as the pedis and MNSSHP! :woohoo:Yes - I think I would have to go for the champagne package :rotfl:

WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS TRIP (in addition to the must do’s)Spa
* California Grill – at Wishes time Planned :thumbsup2
* Monorail tour of resorts
* Kona.
* Yachtsman Steak House? Planned :thumbsup2
* Beaches ‘n Cream – cheeseburgers in paradise 2009. ‘Nuff said. Planned :thumbsup2
* Jiko/view animals via night goggles/drink at Victoria Falls Lounge Planned :thumbsup2
* Explore the Boardwalk area more at night
* Night swimming – LL inspired me

Am I missing anything???

The above all sounds so wonderful. I really want to do the night vision animals. Hmmmmm....that gives me an idea for my September trip. You will love California Grill. The Cheeseburgers in Paradise sounds pretty darn good!

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

MUST DO’S
* Margarita from the margarita stand- if you have not had a margarita from here take it from me... you MUST. Go for the premium. It is worth it. And this is your view: Yum!

NEVER DONE
* Wolfgang Puck Express - I know.. can you believe it?? :confused3
* Circque de Soleil
* Goofy’s Candy Company. I know! What can I say? I don’t really have a sweet tooth.
* Disney Quest
* Ghiardelli- I will say it always smells heavenly any time I pass by!

The only thing I've done on this list is Disney Quest. I really want to do Circ. It is closed the week I am there! :sad2:

WOULD LIKE TO DO (in addition to must do’s):
* New Mexican/Latin restaurant
* Tren-D shop
* Tattoos- yes this is in addition to the henna tatto in Morocco. I am going to be inked up after this trip! :laughing:
* Balloon ride?- has anyone tried this?
* Raglan Road- really enjoyed a meal here in '06
* Browse all the shops in detail – esp the kitchen store
* Ghiardelli – despite not having a sweet tooth the smell is very tempting. Think I have to try it! Something decadently rich and chocolately.
* New Waterfront Restaurant Coming to Pleasure Island This May
Paradiso 37, a high-energy restaurant and bar featuring delectable North-, South- and Central-American cuisine, will open its doors in May at Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort. The lakeside eatery's menu features offerings representing 37 countries of the Americas, plus an international wine bar, 37 varieties of tequila and 10 signature frozen margaritas!

37 varieties of tequila?! :faint: I hope to meet Disney Deeva and some others here (or anywhere!) before our Adventurer's Club dinner!

What else? Any other Downtown Disney faves I'm missing?

I've seen pictures from the ballon ride and it looks really cool. You can see everywhere. I would love that, but I think the ride is closed a lot because of winds/weather.

C- your plans all sound so wonderful. You are going to have a fantastic time.

Today marks 50 days until I am back in the World. :cloud9: Ahhh... I need it so much. And to mark the occasion, Mickey sent me some love today:
50 days. That is SO soon (relatively speaking). I've been waiting since December. Can't believe it is really almost here!

You are right. 50 days will pass before you know it. With me on this trip, I distinctly remember it being 35 days when Brooklynn opened the first countdown calendar window, and then just a blink later, we were in the teens. Looking forward to the trip is a big part of the fun!

We watched Wishes from the Poly beach, and then I saw them on the boat from Widlerness Lodge to Magic Kingdom one night. Both were beautiful! :)

Woo hoo for 50 days!!! :woohoo:

I cannot begin to tell you how jealous I am that you received the Food and Wine Guide in the mail! I want my own to sniff and read!!! :laughing:

And, indeed, it is this valiant effort that I SO look forward to reading about!

Oh, I got confuzzled.

You're going to love the Cali Grill. Nummy

Oh trust me, I'm the one who's confuzzled. All I know is that I'm getting on a plane on 9/24 and then I be in WDW! From there anything goes! :lmao: I need to get a better handle on things b/c there is so much I want to do and so many people I want to meet. Not to mention the ADRs I've made. :rolleyes1 I'm typically better organized, I promise! :confused3

OMG, you got Mickey Mail!!!!!How fun and what a great list!!! Boy, I thought I was a list maker, I've got nothing on you!!;) Now I'm off to bed and will be dreaming of wonderful drink and food...thanks to you!!! And I'm game for the weight gain challenge.....lol!! Is it bad when you're dieting before your trip so you can gain on it?!! Like me!?!!:rotfl:

Mickey Mail rules. OF COURSE I diet in anticipation of the weight I'll gain. Isn't that the name of the game? Too funny. In some ways, thank goodness for all the walking in WDW otherwise I'd come home with a 20lb weight gain! :scared:

Look at that Mickey Mail!! Your lists look great!! I can't wait to see what you are able to accomplish. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I learned my listy-ness from you! :goodvibes I can't wait to see what I can accomplish too. But I have realistic expectations. And just being there is going to be fantastic! ::yes::

Thanks for researching! I wouldn't have thought to do that! I generally don't like particularly sweet wines. But I think I'll give them the old college try nonetheless. ;)

OK now I'm intriqued.... I'm not a wine drinker... but when I do I like the sweet kinds.:goodvibes How often is this wine walk offered???

Paula

I believe it's offered any time. You purchase in the "wine stores" in either Germany, Italy or France then think you get some sort of passport or something that gets stamped as you walk around. I could be mistaken but believe this is offered all the time even when F&W isn't happening. It sounds like fun to me! We can post our own wine tasting reviews! I need to figure out how/if I can do live updates.

The above all sounds so wonderful. I really want to do the night vision animals. Hmmmmm....that gives me an idea for my September trip. You will love California Grill. The Cheeseburgers in Paradise sounds pretty darn good!

I am so sad I didn't do the night vision in December. I tried but they weren't out yet. I hope to do it this time! :thumbsup2 I am SO excited about Cali Grill I can't tell you. Already studying the menu as if there will be a quiz! :rotfl2:

I've seen pictures from the ballon ride and it looks really cool. You can see everywhere. I would love that, but I think the ride is closed a lot because of winds/weather.

C- your plans all sound so wonderful. You are going to have a fantastic time.

Thanks, Mary Ellen! :goodvibes I think we overlap by a day - I arrive 9/24- so not sure we'll get to meet but hopefully some day! I would like to try the balloon if it's working but not sure I'd make a special trip. I think it is odd that you can see the balloon from World Showcase when usually the imagineers are so ultra-conscious of lines of sight etc. :confused3

Hi MeMom! How are you feeling? I'm sure 50 days is going to FLY. And I have a lot to figure out within the 50 days. The countdown is definitely a big part of the fun. Especially with so many wonderful DISers to cheer you on! :goodvibes

Ahhh Wishes from the Poly. :cloud9::cloud9: And Wishes from WL. :cloud9::cloud9: I've GOT to try at least one this time (and save one for next time!)

Woo hoo for 50 days!!! :woohoo:

I cannot begin to tell you how jealous I am that you received the Food and Wine Guide in the mail! I want my own to sniff and read!!! :laughing:

I wish the DIS offered scratch 'n sniff b/c then I'd show you what I mean! :laughing: I love all Disney mail- there is nothing better! I am starting to get excited for Magical Express mail! :cool1:

Oh, I am a paper sniffer as well and I think Disney paper always smells the best -- kind of like the Birnbaum guides have a certain smell to them, too, that just screams Disney! :lmao:

ooooh if its anytime.... i think im definately doing the wine walk! Of course if I drank all the wine in a row.... im not really sure how well I'll be walking:rolleyes1

P

Wow, that D23 event looks amazing!!! I would love to head out to DL at some point after the refurb and also hit up the Disney Family Museum on the same trip.

I agree with you on the Disney Mail - sure you can see it online, but having it in hand is so much better! Everything for the F&W looks wonderful...the chocolate lava cake...drool!

Oh my your F&W list is making me drool! Ahhhh, that looks like it is going to be so much fun! My middle child turns 12 in October 2011 so for her special birthday trip I may get to F&W after all! Until then I live vicariously through you and your pals. I am sure with a list of goodies and delectable treats like that you are going to have an amazing time!

Where in World Showcase is the balloon visible? If it's from UK, then that would make sense as to why they put an umbrella flying Mary Poppins on the Balloon.

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one! :lmao:

:rotfl2: That cracks me up, P! You'll be fine!

I agree. Will have to take a trip out west at some point in the future. Lava cake sure would be good right about now...

That's definitely something to look forward to! I so love this tradition you've started with some special mom/child time on the occasion of their 12th b-day. And, of course, it HAS to be in Disney! Where else? Those kids (and you) are going to remember their special trip forever! :goodvibes

Where in World Showcase is the balloon visible? If it's from UK, then that would make sense as to why they put an umbrella flying Mary Poppins on the Balloon.

I'm pretty sure I saw it visible over the Mexico pavilion....I think.

I think in the pics I've seen I've seen it over China (makes sense from another angle could also be over Mexico). I think I want to try it if for no other reason than the view and potential pictures!

Because of how high up the balloon is, you can see it from pretty much everywhere in the World Showcase. It looked to me like line of sight was over Mexico, so perhaps if you're in Mexico, you wouldn't be able to.

We'll just have to solve this little mystery in Sept/Oct girls! I was actually thinking of doing the balloon ride since I'll be in DTD getting my shop on the morning of MNSSHP. Should be interesting since I'm afraid of heights. :lmao:
