Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Well if Leslie is taking you to the Little Mermaid I would be more than happy to take you to Beauty and the Beast LOL!!!!

Anyways love your lists!!! I am a huge lover of the GMR and finally saw the cowboy side of it (glad to know it does exist) and it was so much better than the mobster side LOL!!!!

Muppets is another must do for me to...last two times I skipped out on the Muppets (I know I'm ashamed of myself) but not this time!!!

YAY for a very cool link...I'm off to look at DIsney food pictures LOL!

What else? I haven't done Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in years. Worth it?
I personally would rather see Beauty and the Beast

Fantasmic isn't currently in my plans... the reduced schedule makes it difficult to fit into the itinerary. Am I missing out?

I can't make it work for my schedule either....but I love the show. See it when it can be an easy part of your itinerary.

Backlot Tour/catastrophe canyon? I remember thinking in '06 that it was a shell of its former self. Anything changed?

I think the shell has gotten thinner....I don't plan to see it again....ever.

American Idol... what's the verdict? Keep in mind, I don't watch the show.

I plan to work it in but I'm a big fan of tv show. I wouldn't bother otherwise unless it was either really hot out or it was downpouring

Oh and Sounds Dangerous? It's a CQN attraction: Cool Quiet Nap. You know the attraction you go to if you are about to get heat stroke. Can't think of any other reason to go in there.

Isn't Sounds Dangerous gone? I thought that was where they put American Idol. Maybe I'm confused. :confused3

I believe you are correct TK.... C you dodged that bullet:rotfl2:

I can't believe you've never seen Little mermaid... OR Beauty and the Beast!! I'll be happy to go to both with you:goodvibes

I have no 'must do's' at DHS this trip...I don't think..... but there are so many things i enjoy, that I just try to fit in as much as I can! So you all can lead me around like a puppy...and i'll play anything you want;)

That said.... have you ever done the class at the Animation Studio??? That was a lot of fun... and well worth the 20 minutes. I made Pluto in October. It would be fun to try a new one....

Welcome back! I'm really enjoying your TR! I think we all have varying dates. Mine are 9/24-10/3- haven't done a full analysis but seems like the greatest concentration of people is toward the end ~10/1-10/4.

Would love for you to join us. :upsidedow You do have an AP, right? Quick solo trip? Mom and Dad getaway? :rolleyes1

Oh I would so love to... you don't know.... BUT I am already going in a "ber" month... so I think I am going to have to push my solo trip to March....;)

BUT in the mean time I will just enjoy your fun!!! :goodvibes

I am glad you are reading along on my TR, it is fun to share experiences with everyone!!!
:goodvibes

Since we've been talking about the lobster rolls...

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32670470&postcount=3331

Mickeywannabe has posted a bunch of F&W pics on the Disney Food thread starting on page 222 - gives you an idea of the kiosks, the menus incl prices and pics of the actual items! :thumbsup2

MAN... (that is a whine) This kind of temptation is really really not fair. :headache:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's okay.... I have will power...:rolleyes1

Oh, and your list for DHS looks good! We saw Indiana this time (also in Nov.) I think I would skip it in Dec, but since you have not seen it in a while, It is a nice spot to take a break...

I'll admit it. A cute Indy would be a motivating factor for me as well. It's just a bonus that DS is so excited.

I know, it's so exciting, these Food and Wine trips are full of DIS friendships!

Glad I'm not the only one with a weakness for the cuties. ;)

YAY! Thank you for posting that. I'd love to have an idea of what's available before we get there.

All those pictures really have me in the mood to hurry up and get there!

I love your DHS list. I think DHS is the day I am looking forward to most. I don't know why but all the plans we have for that day sound so much fun, throw in Hollywood and cap it off with a dinner at Brown Derby and I'm in heaven!

I would be more than happy to accompany you on your first viewing of Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

You know, in May I had no desire to check out American Idol but seeing pictures on the DIS wants to make me check it out. I am planning on a full day at DHS and since I don't do RNR and ToT, I feel like I can fit it in with everything else I want to do.

Thanks. I may take you up on your offer. How many times a day do they offer that show? I'll have to do more investigating. I don't do the thrill rides either so hopefully we can fit it in!

I'm excited for Sci Fi diner. Know the food isn't supposed to be great but it looks so cute in there!

Oh and thank you for that link. Seeing that lobster roll just made my day! :rotfl2:

Happy to help! It looks good to me and I don't even like lobster! :lmao:

I think you will enjoy American Idol, we went in March and June, both times we loved it! They find the such great singers![/QUOTE]

Thanks for the recommendation. How many shows a day do they have?

Well if Leslie is taking you to the Little Mermaid I would be more than happy to take you to Beauty and the Beast LOL!!!!

You skipped Muppets?!? :scared1: Gasp. Just kidding. But we'll have to see them in Sept. ::yes::

What else? I haven't done Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in years. Worth it?

Thanks for the recommendations. :lmao: and :sad1: at the same time about the thin shell of the backlot tour.

I guess I did dodge a bullet. Although now that the opportunity to attend has been taken away from me I am outraged. ;)

Your Pluto looks so cute. I am about as artistically talented as I am athletically. :sad2:

Oh I would so love to... you don't know.... BUT I am already going in a "ber" month... so I think I am going to have to push my solo trip to March....;)

BUT in the mean time I will just enjoy your fun!!! :goodvibes

:goodvibes

OK. :rolleyes: Next time you come too. A solo trip in March... hmmm... how about April? :rolleyes1

MAN... (that is a whine) This kind of temptation is really really not fair. :headache:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

That's okay.... I have will power...:rolleyes1

Oh, and your list for DHS looks good! We saw Indiana this time (also in Nov.) I think I would skip it in Dec, but since you have not seen it in a while, It is a nice spot to take a break...

You started it (the lobster roll obsession, I mean! :laughing:). I will keep Indiana Jones in mind as a nice spot for a break! :thumbsup2

------------------

By the way, why are we limited to 25 smilies? It is really cramping my smiley style!!

I guess I did dodge a bullet. Although now that the opportunity to attend has been taken away from me I am outraged. ;)

I guess you'll have to see it now since it's still open. Who Wants to be a Millionaire is the one gone to make way for AI, not Sounds Dangerous! Have fun ;)

I think it was Tinkerbellarella who commented on how cute "her" Indiana Jones was. I confess... that's what got me to thinking it might be time to revisit this attraction. :blush: :lmao:

Indiana Jones and cuteness just go hand in hand. :laughing:

Mickeywannabe has posted a bunch of F&W pics on the Disney Food thread starting on page 222 - gives you an idea of the kiosks, the menus incl prices and pics of the actual items! :thumbsup2

I have been drooling over her pictures all weekend! I can't wait!!!

Thanks. :goodvibes I'm really excited about the trip. The TR's are going to be something else. We'll have to plan another time. Perhaps on the podcast cruise? :rolleyes1 No I haven't booked yet but I do think about it...

Let me know if you decide to book it! The more I read about it all, the more excited I am. There are over 500 DISers on that trip now! :woohoo:

* Sounds Dangerous – think I’m going to skip this :laughing:
* Beauty and the Beast
* Little Mermaid - in fact don't think I knew this was here until I just read LL's update.

WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS TRIP (in addition to the must do’s)
* Sci Fi diner – another stop on the cheeseburger in paradise tour.
* Tune In Lounge - I have eaten at 50's in the past and enjoyed the atmosphere. Can't fit it in the meal plans this time but could maybe fit in a snack/drink? :confused3

What else? :confused3 I haven't done Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in years. Worth it?

-Sounds Dangerous is.....lame. We did this in 06 and I remember Joe kinda looking at me, like "What the heck?" You sit in the dark with headphones on. It's not even funny. Really, a complete waste of space!

-I've never seen Beauty and the Beast or the Little Mermaid either! I hope to hit one in September.

-Sci Fi. I am looking forward to this! For the exact reason you mentioned-a cheeseburger! Yummmm! I hope it lives up to its cheeseburger hype.

-Tune in Lounge. I read that you can just order a shake at the bar, like their famous Peanut Butter & Jelly shake! You can even get them to go.

-Indiana Jones is pretty fun, if you haven't seen it in years it might be like it's new again to you. I read a tip on the DIS that if you stay until after the crowds leave you can go MEET Indy on stage. :lovestruc

Okay C, Sounds Dangerous is still physically there, but they are closing it seasonally....aka almost all the time....because I think it is just NOT THAT FUNNY!!!! I think there is something better they could put there. Maybe they are working on perfecting that right now!!! I don't think you will have to bother with those, but VofLM is good---a must see at least once...even if you just want to sit in the A/C....and we also like catching the Beauty and the Beast show too! Enjoy!

I know I commented very quickly yesterday, but figured I would do a longer reply today. (I am avoiding the laundry;)).

MUST DO’s
* Muppets
* Star Tours
* Brown Derby
* Great Movie Ride – sentimental favorite but I do agree it could use some updating. And I groan at the mobster scene.
* One Man’s Dream
* Toy Story Mania

You get my seal of approval on all of these! :lmao:

NEVER DONE
* Rock’n Roller Coaster – I’m a wimp
* Tower of Terror – see above
* Lights ,Motor, Action
* Fantasmic
* American Idol
* Sounds Dangerous – think I’m going to skip this :laughing:
* Beauty and the Beast
* Little Mermaid - in fact don't think I knew this was here until I just read LL's update.

Me too on the wimp thing although I can claim I rode ToT in 1998. LMA is on our must-do list for next time; Fantasmic I would love to see one day; Beauty and the Beast is amazing (it's like a mini-Broadway show and its success actually spurred the Disney company into going into musical theater); the rest I would skip, personally.

WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS TRIP (in addition to the must do’s)
* Sci Fi diner – another stop on the cheeseburger in paradise tour.
* Explore the Streets of America more. Find the Singing in the Rain umbrella and “make it rain.” And LL & Marc have me wanting to try all the doors to see if any open!
* Find out what character I am most like – I think this is in the Animation attraction
* Tune In Lounge - I have eaten at 50's in the past and enjoyed the atmosphere. Can't fit it in the meal plans this time but could maybe fit in a snack/drink? :confused3

All of these sound fun!

What else? :confused3 I haven't done Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular in years. Worth it?

Ummm...although I hate to say it, if you have seen it once, that's probably enough.

Backlot Tour/catastrophe canyon? I remember thinking in '06 that it was a shell of its former self. Anything changed?

Still a shell :(.

American Idol... what's the verdict? Keep in mind, I don't watch the show.

I never watch the actual show, and I didn't regret not doing it this summer.

C:

I vote for the Lights, Motorcars, Action show. I think everyone should see this once. It is really good. I will admit, the second time I saw it I was much less impressed. It's one of those shows that is best the first time. Once they reveal how the stunts work, it loses some of its appeal.

I also vote for Beauty and the Beast. It is very nicely done.

I have never seen the Little Mermaid or done the Animation class. I plan to do these in September.

If you are going to be in the park at 7pm, then I recommend AI. The finale I saw was very, very good. But I like AI and I am a big fan of singing. But I have heard several people comment that even though they don't watch the show in real life, they did enjoy it as an attraction. Sort of like Who wants to be a Millionaire. I never watched that show in real life, but I really enjoyed the attraction.

Fantasmic is a must for us. We get chills when good defeats evil and the big boat comes out with a zillion characters waving! It's very cool. We just get some food and wait in line with the masses. To us, it is worth the wait.

Lights, Motors, Action - I would say see it once, anyway. We've seen it 4-5 times.

We also love Tower of Terror and Beauty and the Beast. Little Mermaid is a nice cool place to sit down for a while and a cute little show. It wouldn't so much be amust-do for grown-ups, but with Brooklynn, it is a must-do!

If you're a wimp, the take-off on RnR may be a bit much. I don't mind the ride, but the take-off hurts my neck.

Sounds Dangerous - I'd walk on by it. We did it once, and that was enough.

American Idol - I guess it depends if you're into that on TV. I know what it is, but have never seen a show in its entirety, so I don't care about going to it in WDW.

I'd say do everything once, because only you can say from personal experience how you like something. What one person thinks is pointless (for us it is Stitch and Sounds Dangerous), someone else would really enjoy.

Have fun with the planning!

Hey C! I'm still here, with being away last week and catching up, I feel bad for not posting, but wanted to let you know I'm still reading!!!:goodvibes

Make sure you look for the key under the mat at Muppets 3D

And, A net Full of jello.

Oh, I will! I just love the Muppets! I want to spend some time in the gift shop too!

Little Mermaid runs pretty frequently. I have never had trouble getting into the show.

OK- I think you may have convinced me to give it a try! :thumbsup2

Indiana Jones and cuteness just go hand in hand. :laughing:

I have been drooling over her pictures all weekend! I can't wait!!!

Yes, he is a cutie. I may go see it since it's been years. And I can't wait for F&W either! Just read the article on allears you mentioned! :hyper:

Let me know if you decide to book it! The more I read about it all, the more excited I am. There are over 500 DISers on that trip now! :woohoo

I will let you know about the DIS cruise. It sure is tempting!

I hope the Sci Fi lives up to the cheeseburger hype too!

Maybe I'm nuts but the PB&J shake just doesn't sound appetizing to me at all. :sad2: But there are plenty of other concoctions I'd like to try there!

Okay C, Sounds Dangerous is still physically there, but they are closing it seasonally....aka almost all the time....because I think it is just NOT THAT FUNNY!!!! Thanks Jen. I think I will try to catch at least one of the shows. Especially since there aren't too many rides I do in DHS. I'm going to be spending most of my time eating/drinking between Sci Fi and Brown Derby and possibly Tune In Lounge! :laughing:

I know I commented very quickly yesterday, but figured I would do a longer reply today. (I am avoiding the laundry;)).

So happy to have the CP seal of approval! :) And happy to help you avoid laundry! You did ride ToT once? And vowed never again? :scared: Part of me wants to try but I don't know if I can do it. I am thinking about trying Everest this trip, though. :rolleyes1

Really? LMA? I hadn't really considered that. Interesting. Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to check out the times and see if I can work that in. I have seen in on some of the travel channel specials and it does look neat!

Oh, I've never done the animation class either! But I can barely draw a smiley face so I'd be frightened to see what I'd produce! :lmao:

Fantasmic is a must for us. We get chills when good defeats evil and the big boat comes out with a zillion characters waving! It's very cool. We just get some food and wait in line with the masses. To us, it is worth the wait.

Thanks, MeMom! :goodvibes I am a bit distressed about the cut back in Fantasmic shows. It makes it tough to fit in but so many people say it's well worth it!

Walk on by Sounds Dangerous... I think that attraction's fate has been sealed. At least in my touring plans! ;) Poor Drew Carey.

I am definitely a wimp and don't think I can do RnR. Doesn't it go upside down? No WAY can I do that! :scared:

Hey C! I'm still here, with being away last week and catching up, I feel bad for not posting, but wanted to let you know I'm still reading!!!:goodvibes

Hi Kristen! No worries. I've been neglecting my OWN TR. Have to soak up the nice weather while we're having it! :upsidedow

------------------------------
So AllEars posted an article/interview about the F&W festival. Some things I'm quite excited about:

A new dessert and... wait for it...... CHAMPAGNE kiosk!! :yay::woohoo::yay:

The tequila bar will be open in Mexico with tequila tastings on Fri/Sat/Sun! :yay:

Some special Mexico demonstrations... I :lovestruc Mexican food (but not San Angel Inn :rolleyes1)

The ice cream area over by Imagination sounds pretty neat! :thumbsup2

Two other new kiosks - Rio - might be good? And Thailand - which will have beer not wine.

One thing I'm a little disappointed in is that this article describes the "Deen" event as just the brothers and not Paula. The newspaper article said that Paula would be there too. Guess I'll have to wait for the official announcement.
