Break out the bubbly and warn the waiters...she's coming back!

Hi Christine,

I had a chance to briefly meet you and Heather last December before the Toy Story Mania meet. I was there with my daughter, unfortuneately we didnt stay for the whole meet as she was sick. We'll be going back Sept 24- Oct1 this year too. I havent had a chance to read your whole pretrippie report yet but where is the meet on the 24th? Can you still sign up for it? TIA for any info . Looking forward to reading more. :goodvibes

Hey jeminni! It was fun to meet you in December. Sorry your daughter didn't feel well. :sad1:

Is there anyone here who can convince me that Jay and I should try Yachtsman? We've canceled something like three times over the years mainly because we have so many great steakhouses in our area of the world that we have a hard time justifying it on vacation in Florida when we want to gorge on seafood.

Tell me all about it ... if you don't mind. :goodvibes

I had a terrific meal there in 2007. I was at the two-top in the bay window overlooking SAB. The service and experience were elegant. The food was excellent, and I liked the different kinds of bread in the bread basket, and also had dessert even though I was incredibly full. There seems to be a little bit of a bias towards Shula's for the steak experience in the reviews I've absorbed, but Yachtsman was well worth doing. I'm thinking of trying Shula's next, although hesitate a little bit to go to a restaurant I could also experience elsewhere.

Christine -

I'm so sorry about your DVC disappointment!

What a great start on your plans! I have barely begun to map out my strategy - I've got to get a move on! This is my first F&W, so I'm definitely going to emphasize Epcot for the last few days I'm there.

I ended up at the Yacht Club because my TA couldn't ever access the 40% off resort AP code I received to change the part of my ressie that she was holding. I was able to change the first 6 nights on my own reservation (orginally booked as a bounceback) to save $200 plus dollars. By the time the TA called Disney a few times and couldn't accomplish anything (they wouldn't let her use the code on my behalf :sad2:) the code was no longer available at the Poly for the rest of my days. The reservation made through the TA was with a typical small AAA level of discount so suddenly the rest of the stay at the Poly looked very expensive. I should have made just one night with the TA and kept the rest of the days myself, but I never imaged they wouldn't be able to work with a code so was planning on the AP discount for the second part of the trip to come through at some point. I kept just the one night on the package for the Adventurer's Club event, and had her cancel the rest. The available resorts with the 40% code were the GF, AK, WL and the Yacht Club so I decided to go for the Epcot experience. I've always wanted to check out SAB, and September is definitely the time for that benefit. Beaches and Cream here we come! I would have preferred the Beach Club, but it's actually fun to do something I never even thought of trying.

Hi Christine,
I didn't know you tried to buy DVC! Sorry to hear that it felt through, after all the time you put into deciding to do it, that stinks!!:sad2: I'm with you, I hope someday we can do it too, but still wonder, if it's really worth it...hmm...

Great plans, I'm with LL, think it's okay to skip Le Celliar....try something new and venture out some.

Your drink selections sound GREAT!!! I can't wait for this TR!!!!:thumbsup2

I leave for a week, and look what you get into -- writing a new PTR with a great title and fun ADR posts. What am I going to do with you, Christine? :sad2:

I vote for BBVD! I would love to see that performance!

And I am super, super, super excited to hear all about this trip!

Have you posted on the DVC boards asking your question about being able to get Beach Club in October? From the bit that I do post/lurk over there, I do know Beach Club is a more sought after property, so it might be tricky. But, if Beach Club doesn't work out, you could possibly get in at the Boardwalk which is also just a quick walk...so you've got two choices (if you like the Boardwalk that is!).

I know what you mean about "needing" it. DH and I have good jobs, very stable, but even so, in this economy sometimes I think we are absurd for buying in...but, then I realize VACATIONS are very important to us, so, it's worth the cost right now-and will save us in the long run. :thumbsup2

There's some Fuzzy Disney Math for ya. :teacher: ;)

Your plans look really, really great. From LL's review on Rose & Crown it makes me want to try it-and having an Illuminations view to come with it...:cloud9:

The Beaches & Cream burgers are YUMMY! Save room for dessert though. :goodvibes

Also, we really enjoyed Yak & Yeti and want to go back sometime!

hi C!! I'm with Brook on the whole DVC front..ya know that!! If you ever require any enabling...lemme know, I'll fix ya up!!:lmao:

I'd LOVE to dress up for MNSSHP!! but i can whip us up some matching..one of a kind DISigns too... if you and J aren't too 'into' the whole costume idea:thumbsup2

Luv the revisions... and i agree, i don't think i'd personally do Le Cellier and Yachtsman.... I know...a sin huh???

paula

I'm an enabler too LOL!!! YAY!!!

So about the whole dressing up thing I'm game...imagine all the cool ideas you could do in 3's LOL (I have a list somewhere I really really do LOL) but I'm cool with really awesome (as if Paula makes anything less LOL) matching tee's...I guess that means you get to decide C LOL!!! (Don't you love how I totally just took myself out of the decision making process with that one LOL, I'm sneaky I tell you and I'm a libra can't make decisions...TK will back me up with this one LOL)

Either way I'm so excited...after looking I just realized I'm having a down day on Saturday the 26th too.. hmmmm...the evil things that could be plotted with this information LOL!!

Well lady I wish you a Happy Monday!!!!!

Girls, girls...what am I going to do with you? If you need this sagittarius to come along and be the decision maker...just let me know!

I think it would be okay to skip Le Cellier on one trip, you will be eating at some great places so I think it would be okay. I know though, it's hard to by pass that one for me too.

Pop Rocks Martini, eh? That sounds FABULOUS. I want one of those.

I can't recommend Rose & Crown enough, I think you should try to fit that in.

That is a strong recommendation for R&C. Maybe I'll try that for Saturday night. Hmmm...

I want to try the Pop Rocks martini too... although I hear sometimes they run out of Pop Rocks which would be disappointing. The DIS Moms Gone Wild gals recommend bringing your own pop rocks just in case!

I think I probably will skip Le Cellier but it just feels all kinds of wrong!

My money is on Beaches and Cream winning the "Best burger" title! There burger was wonderful! Not to mention the onion rings and ice cream!

Thanks and welcome! It certainly is an early favorite. But I look forward to testing many contenders. ;) Any thoughts on other places to try?

I've eaten at Beaches 'n Cream twice but have never actually had any room left for dessert. May have to change that this time!

I think you should brave it out and try Yak and Yeti...I loved it C!!! It was worth going just for the wonton dessert and I will not be missing that again...P and I are definitely eating there for lunch one day and I can't tell you how excited I am about that LOL!!!!

I love your itinerary..especially all the dates with me and P....overbearing bah...I call it high quality girl time and I'm going to mooch it up baby!!!!

High quality time... can't wait! I think I may put Y&Y on the list as a tentative and see how I'm feeling. I figure I can always eat at the bar as a solo without an ADR. I mostly want to try the Yak Attack and I know I can get that at the Dawa Bar... which is also on the list to check out! ;) And now you know where my priorities are!

Ignore the temporary hijack, please.

Bendy! Can I call you Bendy? I see your thread on the community board, and I've lurked through some of your reports, but haven't been brave enough to join. Perhaps like Nike says, I should just do it.

I've had a fantastic meal at the Yachstman. I know in the area of the country you're from, you can get a great steak, but I have to tell you, I am not a red meat eater. It's rare that I indulge in steak, but I had a fantastic meal at Yachstman one year and it's stuck out in my mind as probably the best steak I've ever had. Everyone in my party ordered steak and everyone loved it. We were stuffed, and we all got dessert anyway. It was an awesome meal. Apparently, from my limited memory, the steak is prepared with some type of special oak that's indigineous to Florida, so you can't get that particular taste on your steak anywhere else.

And now back to my regular scheduled commentary on 2excited's planning prowess.

I highly recommend that you go see BBVD. For those not in the know, that would be Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. I started screaming with joy when I saw you had listed them as being there and then practically cried when I realized I'd miss them by two days.

They're awesome, they're awesome live, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Plus, if you go, I can live vicariously through you.

See, everyone's happy.

Not a hijack at all. Happy for any and all discussion! I am really looking forward to Yachtsman!

OK you've sold me on Voodoo Daddy. I'm going to search for them on itunes and see what I can find.

Bendy seems to be all that I answer to these days, so by all means call me that ... I kind of like it.

Please de-lurk whenever you feel like it ... I love all the chatter and back-and-forth on my food porn threads and the more the merrier. Most of the folks that I've clicked with are wonderful people and very welcoming ... make Nike's advertising department feel worthy and join us!

Thank you so much for your input about Yachtsman - that's exactly what I was looking for. Since we're staying at the Beach Club this fall it seems like the perfect time to bite the bullet and pay Yachtsman a visit.

So thanks again and please visit any or all of my threads whenever you'd like - you're always welcome. And thanks Christine for allowing this semi-hijack of your planning thread.

I agree with this completely ... we're going to miss BBVD, which is one of the few acts that we were interested in seeing this fall. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

Another endorsement for BBVD. That seals it. Now what kind of dining experience do you recommend? Looks like concert times are 5:45, 7:15 and 8:30. Illuminations is at 9 so I guess sets are only 30 min? :confused3 Do I boogie with a cocktail at 5:45 and then head to dinner with after dinner Illuminations? Or do I do dinner first and then hit BBVD/Illuminations combo? And what dining location best fits with these plans?

Decisions. Decisions.

Your first Food & Wine. :cloud9: I predict you'll fall in love with it. And you can't beat the Epcot resorts for location! Can't wait to see you!!

I've been enamored w/ DVC since taking the tour in December. I came really close to buying then but chickened out. So yes, was disappointing to get this result via resale but I imagine I'll try again. I'm too much of a Disney addict not to!

I leave for a week, and look what you get into -- writing a new PTR with a great title and fun ADR posts. What am I going to do with you, Christine? :sad2:

I vote for BBVD! I would love to see that performance!

And I am super, super, super excited to hear all about this trip!

CP! So happy to have you here!! Sad it means you're back from WDW but happy nonetheless. Another vote for BBVD. Well now I'm getting really excited for this. I can call you from my cell and you can listen virtually!

LOVE the fuzzy math! I have not posted on the DVC board- great idea!

I know lots of people are ga-ga over Boardwalk but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. I think it may be the clown in the swimming pool. :scared: :lmao:

hi C!! I'm with Brook on the whole DVC front..ya know that!! If you ever require any enabling...lemme know, I'll fix ya up!!:lmao:

Lots of enablers 'round these parts! Just what I need! ;) I'm leaning toward t-shirts for MNSSHP vs. full-blown costumes. Whatever it is we wear we'll need open toe shoes to show off our fresh pedis!

I think I've pretty much talked myself out of Le Cellier. OMG- that feels like a sin!

I'm an enabler too LOL!!! YAY!!!

Oh goody- another enabler! ;) Happy to have you! If you're having a down day on the 26th you're welcome to join me for BBVD, dinner and Illuminations. They've gotten a pretty good review from this crowd! It's the first Saturday of F&W and may be crowded with locals but somehow I'll muddle through... with the help of the grey goose slushie, italian margarita, welsh dragon and a few other favorites... :rolleyes1

we really are all in trouble.... i am a libra as well.... C will have to make all the decisions....or we may all be wandering around aimlessly LOL!!!

I'm a Leo. Which means I'm a princess. And we do whatever I want. Problem solved.

Okay -- although today I am tempted to say I will just meet you down there.

I'm so glad you're going to see BBVD! Is it possible you conference call me in with CP so we can both listen? :yay:

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 If I were at all tech-savvy I'd work up a live feed. I wonder if you'd be able to hear it from my Beach Club balcony...

Oh that would be even better! You're welcome to bunk with me! Or sleep on the lounge chairs. I saw on Brook's TR that you saw someone doing that?!

Oh, Christine, you don't know how close I am to saying yes!

Yes, one morning Charles and I headed down for coffee super early and someone was passed out on a chair in the pool area!

Forget CP!! I'll say yes!! I've even got flights down! :lmao:

But seriously, that is INSANE, CP! Like, as in.... drunkenly passed out- in their clothes?:scared1:

Yep, no lie. :lmao:

Another morning, I went down for coffee at 6:30 and a guy was sitting on a bench drinking a beer and asked me, "Out too late or up too early?" I think I managed to squeak out, "Up too early," and scurried off in my Tinker Bell shirt.

I know lots of people are ga-ga over Boardwalk but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. I think it may be the clown in the swimming pool. :scared: :lmao:

:rotfl2: I agree! You are SPIT out of the clown's mouth. The clown alone is creepy, let alone the spitting out of it's mouth... :rotfl: DH loves it over there, so I'm sure we'll stay at somepoint and I'll just focus on the rest of the pool...

Yep, no lie. :lmao:

That's funny though about you in your Tinkerbell shirt. Love it!

Yes, one morning Charles and I headed down for coffee super early and someone was passed out on a chair in the pool area!

I wonder if that's a real problem that CM's have to watch out for. Do you think they patrol the lounge chairs at night to try to prevent it or just let sleeping drunks lie? :confused3

Forget CP!! I'll say yes!! I've even got flights down! :lmao:

But seriously, that is INSANE, CP! Like, as in.... drunkenly passed out- in their clothes?:scared1:

Wouldn't it be fun?! The us all being together part not the drunken passed out part. ;)

Yep, no lie. :lmao:

Who knew the Animal Kingdom was such a party hotel! I totally missed that when I was there. ;)

Thanks for validating my clown fears. :upsidedow Can't you just picture CP in her tinkerbell shirt skipping down for coffee and running into this guy?! I had no idea there was such a seedy side of Disney - in the deluxe resorts, no less!

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 If I were at all tech-savvy I'd work up a live feed. I wonder if you'd be able to hear it from my Beach Club balcony...

Oooo, that would be nice.

However, you'd miss some of the cuteness that is the band. :thumbsup2
