Wow 10 days I am super jealous. DH would never go for 10 days. He says he loves to go, but loves to come home. I just want to go and stay. I once found a nursing job for WDW and tried to convince him I really needed to apply.

Thanks! I was starting to think that 10 days was too long but have talked myself out of that crazy talk. It would be long if I were truly solo but as you'll hear I'm really not going to be solo at all.... which I'm SO excited about. Lots of DIS meets!!

We were at WDW last month (stayed at POFQ but fell in love with BC!) and DH and I are taking a quickie trip to the F&WF in Sept. Our mini trip overlaps yours! Well if you really think a PTR jinxes things, then get it out of your system here! Feel free to post your plans here. I don't have nearly enough material to keep things interesting here for 3 months+. And I do hope that our plans will intersect at least once!

Well, we are T-minus 15 days till ADR day so I think it’s time to lay out the tentative plans and get some suggestions/comments. Maybe it is bizarre but I think I like the ADR planning the best.

So before I get to the tentative plans, here are some “general principles” I used to try to think about the plan:

* I’m not going commando (in any way, shape or form! ). I like to take it relatively easy. Don’t generally set an alarm clock on vacation. Not a big breakfast fan anyway. Like afternoon breaks. Total sun worshipper so enjoy time at the pool.

* Totally willing to organize my day around ADRs.

* Food & Wine. Love them both. A LOT.

* Completely willing to make a meal of the various food booths. Random thought: think the “gift card” on the wristlet is the best invention EVER. Makes check-out SO easy. And you have no idea how much $ you’re drinking/eating.

* Do not have an extremely adventurous palate. Could eat a cheeseburger and fries a day if only my waist line wouldn’t expand.

* Weakness: booze and carbs

* There are no calories on vacation (see above.)

* Willing to make last minute changes if “not feeling it.”

* Love people watching. But only if sitting safely apart with previously mentioned boozy cocktail and observing. When standing in the never-ending line amongst the sea of humanity I tend to start to lose it.

* Not on dining plan. Have TIW card.

Some restaurant must-do’s: Brown Derby, Beaches ‘n Cream (although I hear Hurricane Hannah’s is now the very same burger? ), Chefs de France

Some restaurant likes: Le Cellier, Tutto Italia, Earl of Sandwich, California Grill, Jiko, what am I forgetting??

On my restaurant to try (someday) list: Rose & Crown, Paradiso 37, Plaza, Tony’s, Wave, Kona, Chef Mickey’s ( not for the food!), Sci Fi Diner & The Fountain (quest for the perfect cheeseburger), Yachtsman, Narcooses, Flying Fish, I’m sure I’m forgetting many…

I loved the Food and Wine festival in October 2008. It was my first experience with it and I had the best time. Now I should tell you that I am hardly a gourmet, have a very unsophisticated palate, and am not a particularly adventurous eater. I do love me some wine, margaritas and grand marnier slushies, however.

As previously confessed, I am a Disney addict so I have read a lot about the F&W festival. And I’m aware that many feel like the festival has gone downhill with fewer special events, “big names,” exotic food etc. Well, I didn’t notice.

We LOVE what you said and can't wait for more!
