The Florida Mall was full of them last night making a mess of the stores they went in.

I'm not the least bit surprised to hear they cause problems wherever they go (away from Disney). :sad2:

they were there the first week of october last year.
right before the columbus day weekend.

i got stuck with them on soaring.

my ears hurt so bad with their chanting and yelling.

the cm's did nothing...........

i'll be back for a week in that end of sept, first week of october this year.

i dread the BT's already......
with their hogging the walkways, holding up the fast pass machines, leaving tables a mess at the counter service, and the loud chanting, i hope i won't run into large groups again this fall.

You ought see what it's like being stuck with them in Fanatsmic. My wife and I don't let them push us around. My wife knows 4 languages one of them being theirs and she's not afraid to tell them off. I can handle myself enough to knock them over and I have. Just can't stop them making so much noise.

We went last July and encountered them while staying at BC . . .in fact, the room next door to us had a family that was with the soccer group. Let me just start by saying, I'm sorry, but I don't put up with bs especially if I'm trying to sleep. It was about 2am and the people came back next door . . .they were extremely loud, obnoxious and making a ton of noise . . .I got out of bed, pissed off and banged extremely loud on the connecting door while screaming "SHUT UP" let me just say, not only did that shut them up, but I scared my DS and his GF and we never heard another peep from the room next door again. :rotfl:

We will be there again this Thursday for hot Summer fun at the Poly and I am not afraid to voice my opinion to them if they happen to "run" into me . . .they do understand English and the universal language of swears . . .

It's pretty sad that Disney lets them get away with all that crap . . .

Just back yesterday from spending a week and half there. These groups made life terrible! I can handle their chanting and clapping and being in my way! What made us so upset was 2 or 3 groups of 100 plus kids getting to an attraction right before we did. The wait time for the ride or show would instantly go from 10 minutes to 60 plus. They also had no problem getting 100 to 150 plus fast passes at a time! On Monday at the MK, we went to Space Mountain at 10am to find the wait already at 75 minutes so we go to get a fast pass, but the group there in front of us ran the return time from 7:30 pm to 11:30pm!

Then the one night we thought we would be free, they were sitting in front of us at the Cirque show. They thought they could sit anywhere they wanted and gave the usher a tough time when he tried to move them. I must admit, I gave the usher a little tip more than half were not in their correct seats. At least I cleared out the 4 rows in front of us!

Ok, I HATE the tour groups! Detest them. (although I feel like at least clarifying that this is not a reflection on my opinion of Brazilians on an INDIVIDUAL level. In fact I have worked with College Program Brazilians whom also detested the tour groups, lol.:lmao:)

I do wonder though, and I do not mean to be offensive in asking, just that my DH and I often find ourselves asking eachother. . . .
HOW do they do it?????
I mean, their tour groups are much more prominent than tour groups of any other place, America, Europe, etc. . . .
It does literally feel like EVERY teenager from Brazil is there at any given time for several times of the year, every year. I know this is an exaggeration, but that is how it FEELS. I keep thinking of all the cost that is incurred, what with flights, transportation, the tickets, the accommodations (they stay at places like the poly!?). . . . and I just wonder. . . . .
I don't know how to word this so it doesn't come across as mean or something, I just don't understand. Disney is expensive. And there are just SO MANY groups. :confused3
I mean, good for them that they can afford it, really. And it's awesome their kids (and families in the family groups) get to come and experience the magic. I just didn't realize that Brazil is that much "better off" than America? Sure there are American High School groups and stuff. . . . but this is like if every teenager from the western half of the United States came in huge groups for a week, over the course of a couple months, it just doesn't happen.

I believe they are getting DEEP, DEEP, DEEP discounts.

My kids and I will be there toward the end of next week. If I knew about these groups, I would have waiting until the end of August to go. :sad2:

We are staying at ASMo and I am scared that they are going to be loud and hog up the busses.

My DS10 is sensitive to people making a lot of noise. He tends to get headaches from it. I guess I better pack lots of tyenol! ;)

We will be there too! I am really concerned. I don't handle rude people well. ;) I know, why go to Disney World? :rotfl:

We got extremely luck when we were there the first part of May. Didnt see one in sight :cool1: I'm hoping that luck holds up in Oct.

We had the same luck during our trip the first week in May. There were people of all nationalities of course, but no roaming hoards of teens like have been described here. Thank goodness!

Well, I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones. I just got back on Friday. And I have to say that the Brazilian tour groups didn't cause me much grief. I got stuck with them on Soarin' but they weren't that bad. :confused3 I guess we just lucked out because we ALWAYS get stuck on EVERY ride with them, but not this time.:woohoo: It seems like they were always coming as we were going or vice versa.

I'm hoping we don't see many of them when we get there in a week, but if we do, I'll try very hard for this to be the case for us!! If a huge group gets therejust ahead of us, we'll skip it and go to another ride. Fantasmic is offered twice the night we have planned to go to DHS, so hopefully if we do the later show it won't be as bad. Anyway, we're always so happy to be in our "happy place" that we won't let them ruin our magic!!

We were also there the beginning of May this year. We didn't see anything until we went to DHS on the 7th. We were going to the last showing of Fantasmic and we got stuck with a band group from Alabama. They were pretty good at first, but the longer we waited, the more cuss words you could hear. I had to mention a time or two that there were little ears around. A lot of chanting from them too.

But the worst was a family sitting next to us. Their son was sitting on the back of the bench and was stomping his feet on the seat part! (they had us waiting in the Beauty and the Beast theater for the fantasmic theater to clear out.) It made an awful racket and caused the whole bench to vibrate. We asked multiple times for them to make their kid stop.

Now that we are planning our next trip, nobody wants to go back to Fantasmic because of that night.

Yuck.

I always tried not to begrudge the South American tour groups, but large crowds of people dressed identically (and usually in day-glo colored shirts) always frightened me as a child.

And so, I'm not at all sorry that my Florida resident seasonal pass blocks out most of July and August! We stopped going to the parks during those months because of these tour groups. I think the last time we went in July was... 1997? 1998 at the latest, when I was 14. Even now, the mere suggestion of going to WDW in mid-summer is enough to make my dad recoil at the memory.

Most of the time, back then, the tour groups were nice, but there was always enough negativity that was associated so distinctly with the neon yellow or neon orange shirts that it sort of got associated with the groups as a whole, you know?

It's unfortunate that, as it sounds, the problem has only grown worse.

For those of you staying at the ASMo, I can give our experience last summer mid july as an example of NOT keeping things to yourself. Get the management involved and they WILL do something. We had our first "warning" totally unprompted at time of check in. CM told us about the groups and to be sure and let them know if there was any issues.sure enough, the first night noise, singing, doors slamming, general chaos as we were in bed--and we don't go to bed until after midight anyway ;). A quick phone call to the desk with details and either get it under control immediately or we need to be comped to move. Mgt and security or whomever had it under control in a matter of an hour. the groups did all the entry/exit of the resort from a back parking lot by the Love Bug, so no sign of them at the bus stops. there were other issues with them causing problems around the pool area; again--we immediately told the desk and they took care so that if the group kids weren't swimming, they couldn't use the pool area to house a "squatter's camp" and sleep, eat, trash, etc. Even with all that said, I don't think we'll ever go again at that time frame because the resort cannot really control anything in the food court. :eek:the sheer number of the groups literally takes over everything in there until they leave for the parks. Rude, seemingly unable to understand English when spoken by the cashier and servers:sad2:no common courtesy. It would be a good idea for them to have their own resort. It would seem Disney would have no problem keeping it filled year round.
