ok..so im a teen..but my little cousin has two of these and i was playing with them...when i relized...these babies are dressing like its halloween at my High school all year round! Are those babies not wearing dipers but what....are those thongs?? First of all..i dont know about you..but i dont think my baby would have her bottle on a chain...or be wearing a shorter skirt than me with a skimier top. I know their dolls..but when a 8 year old is telling me that she wants her baby to dress like that...i have to think there is something not right there..so parents..what are your opinions on these dolls?

My 4 yr old is always asking for them because some of her friends at school have them but I refuse to get any for her because of the way they look. I have also told my family no to get them for Christmas or Bdays! They are a little too "mature" for lack of a better or worse word. Makeup is too much and clothes are too little!! :rotfl:

My DH and I can't stand these dolls either. I think bad attitudes and bad dress are big problems right now with all children - not just teens - and unlike others we DON'T think it's cute. DD4 asked about them one day at Walmart. I told her that she can get Barbies (we're even picky about some of HER outfits) but that she wouldn't be getting Bratz. I mean, even the BRAND NAME says it all to us. I'm impressed as a teenager that you would notice this as well...

My husband call the Bratz dolls "Slutz"

I don't like Bratz at all.

When we see them--I discuss with my kids that we will never get something called "Brat" b/c "brat is used to describe a misbehaved kid.

And the babies---yeah....I've never seen a baby dress like that.

The whole concept is inappropriate.

though--we do have the toothbrushes b/c they were B1G1 Free. Hey--they were spin brushes. But, I won't be getting them anymore either. At least, you can't undress the toothbrush.

:rotfl: my friend called them baby prostitues in heath class one day when the commercial came on....it sent our teacher in to a fit of how babies can not be dressing like that. Which was pretty funny.....as a baby i wore make up for one reason and one reason only....if i was doing a show.

My cousin has them because of her grandma....her mom would never let her have them because of what they wear.

As a teen i notice alot of odd things. that kids my age dont...maybe because i can connect with my little cousin...and yet be mature around adults.

The girls on the tooth brushes are a bit slutty too....but arent they all
you think that on the snow slopes they may be a bit cold in that gear they're wearing! :earboy2:

I agree I think they are "Slutz" dolls. My dd 7 has some that she was given as presents, but I won't buy them either. I did get her a Bratz scooter, because it is purple (her favorite color) but it just has the written logo on it. She does get an allowance and has brought the small baby one, but most times she plays with her stuffed animals!

When she started kindergarten I had a tough time finding age appropriate clothes, they all were cut slutty. I thought it was just me! Than last year when she started 1st grade I read an article that said the "Baby prostutite" look was out and found nicer cut clothes. Really, what are these clothing designers and toymakers thinking?

My little sister LOVES Bratz and I remember when they first came out, I used to think they looked cool because of their eyes and big lips ect and I thought they were really unique. I do think the prices are stupid though. Also, I agree with the 'Slutz' thing! Look at the clothes they wear! I'm sure no one wants their child dressed like THAT! I know my little sister wishes she could dress like a Bratz doll and we're like, 'Noooo way!' :rotfl:

As for the Bratz babies, well, their just chunky and weird. My Mum bought 2 big ones the other day for my sister for Christmas and yes I agree, their clothes, well, whats up with that! Does anyone YOU know dress their kid like that? I don't think so!!

Weird

I have a pretty low opinion of all things Bratz. We don't buy them. I bought my daughter Bratz soap once, because it was the only glittery hand soap we could find  , but I peeled off the label. We got a Bratz doll in a Happy Meal once (don't you love it when McDs runs out of the advertised toy and they drag out the leftovers?) and my DH said "Oh, now it's a Skanky Meal!" :teeth:

My DD has Bratz toothpaste, but that's all I would let her get. I can't stand the dolls, and I've told her that I don't think they're appropriate for young girls (or girls of any age, for that matter).

Glenn Beck, who has a nationally syndicated radio talk show, has coined the perfect term for these girls (and dolls) who dress so suggestively at such a young age; he calls them "prosti-tots". I think that pretty well sums it up!

Not allowed at our home either. My daughter is entraced by the commericials. I'm surprised they've been able to continue to market the darn things - most mothers I know won't let their kids have them - or any of the associated merchandise.

Luckily our household has been "Bratz"-free so far. Dd b-day is coming up though :scared1: cross your fingers!!!

As you can tell from my signature.. I just LOVE Bratz (insert sarcasm here ;))

Like I said b4 in another Bratz thread ," those dolls look like they are designed by a group of 40 year old pervs"... lol , and "Those dolls are something you get for that weird uncle on your list" . ;)

jekajekalynn-where you have "a barbie girl in a bratz world" i love that...haha its the total truth...i am a barbie girl and i was in a barbie world till these things...then i was just like "ill keep my barbies...go ahead little ones..keep the barbie way...dont go to the dark side with the bratz" but then they did..it was very Star Wars girlie style....

Ughh, these things disgust me. My BIL just hosted a Bratz birthday party yesterday for his 2 DD's, one is 5, one 7. I bit my tongue so many times. We did NOT arrive with a Bratz gift like everyone else. This is twice I have been asked (not asked but it was "suggested") to buy a Bratz gift and both times I showed up with something else. I just can't do it. They're awful. I'm lucky my DD is just 2 and not into them or else I know we'd have a battle. Like the above poster said I'm a big fan of Glenn Beck and have always refered to them as "prosti-tots" since I heard him say it. It's the best description of them I've heard. It's great that you're a teen and think that they're are wrong. We need more you in this world!!

no, no, and no. That's really what it comes down to. The funny thing I've noticed since these dolls have come out, so many fewer people are objecting to Barbie now. I guess having Slutz around makes Barbie look like a good girl.

I'll still object to Barbie. Bad body image things with Barbie. But to me the worst thing about Barbie is that she is impossible to dress. My daughter has a few of those she has been given for her birthdays, and its the "mommy, dress Barbie" that has sent them to the top of the closet - not my feminist body image problems.

Now Polly Pockets is wonderful - peices are too darn easy to lose, but the whole sets are pretty cheap. And kids can actually get those clothes on and off!

i didnt have a problem w/ dressing barbies...I have more of a problem ripping bratz feet off to switch the shoes than i ever did

And the shoes are soft when you step on them, unlike those @#$%^& Barbie shoes! ;)
