Well, we did it! We just bought 200 DVC points while we were at WDW this week. I had done some lurking here on the board (thanks, y'all - there is so much good info here so I felt prepared for what I would encounter) and we made the decision to buy!

I'm sure I'll have a bazillion questions for you experienced DVCers about the best way to maximize our points, but I'll do some more lurking and try not to ask questions that have already been addressed

I am hoping to join you as a new member. I signed the contract for 200 pts at SSR a couple of weeks ago, but have to wait through the process to see if I get it. I'll bet I am the only single guy with no kids who has bought into DVC! I am at the age now that all my friends are married and having kids, so I thought it would be a good idea to buy into this and share with my friends. Also, I am a Big Brother in BBBS, and want to take my Little Brother this year so I am hoping my contract goes through!!

Where did you buy your points for?

We bought at Saratoga Springs. Although I expect we'll end up using our points more at Wilderness Lodge Villas if we can get in But either way, we're excited about the options!

We just got our membership number today and already made a reservation! Our first trip "home" will be to BWV! We are taking my IL's and I think my IL's will love that place.
