Just wanted to thank everyone on here for the tips, information and suggestions! We just returned from our trip to WDW and CSR. We had only ever stayed at the Value Resorts and DH wasn't real sure about what I had planned. Him and the fam LOVED it!!! We had a renovated room in the Cabanas section. It was clean and the beds were heavenly :cloud9:! The family said this is where they want to stay for now on. :cheer2:

I am happy that you and your family had a great stay at CSR. My family and I will be trying out CSR for the first time in 11 days!

I am really hoping for a renovated room so I can wow my DH and convince him to go back every year or at least every two years!

Welcome back. Glad you had a great stay at our "home away from home"--the CSR! And so happy that your family wants to go back!

This may be an obscure question, but does anyone remember if CSR has pool noodles for sale in the gift shop? You can purchase them at POP and they were a lot of fun. Also, if they're not in the gift shop, are they allowed in the main pool if we can get them on our own?

Thanks for the review and so glad you had a good time! I've also requested a renovated room in the Cabanas section so hopefully we'll get it. Also so glad to hear about the beds--that was the main reason I picked CSR.

Only 3 more days until we leave. I can't wait!:banana:

At CSR now. Would not be online if I didn't have to take a final for school this morning. The resort is beautiful. We were originally placed in Ranchos 6B but asked if we could possibly be placed in Casitas 4 or 5 which was the request I faxed. We were placed in Casitas 4, 1st floor just around the corner from the quiet pool. We have a very short walk to the bus stop which is awesome. I love how close the resort is to all the parks, it seems like as soon as you pull out of the resort you arrive where you are going.

We will be staying at CSR in September and I plan on requesting Casitas 4 or 5. Glad to hear that 4 is close to the bus stop. Do you know if both 4 and 5 are completely renovated? Sorry to hear about your trouble with mousekeeping.

Yes, Casitas 4 and 5 are completely renovated.

I'm at CSR right now, and we love it!

We requested a renovated room and at first, we had a non-renovated room on the ground floor. I immediately requested a change to a renovated room and thankfully, they were able to switch us after one night. That first room was pretty creepy!

The staff has been very accomodating. They allowed us to watch the Laker/Orlando game at the Rix Lounge with our one year-old daughter on Thursday night. I didn't mention that I was a Laker fan when I asked if she could join us! (I knew they'd allow Laker fans, I wasn't too sure about DD!)

I believe they are normally 21 and over, so, again, very accomodating of them!

We saw Glen, the alligator on the day we switched rooms. Haven't seen him since.

We're having a great time in Casitas 4 (if anyone is here and heard my daughter screaming last night, I apologize! She wanted to play in the sink, rather than go to bed.)

The convention center is a bit confusing. I am here on business and got lost a few times this morning while on break. As long as I can find the lake, I can usually get re-oriented.

Thanks again for everyone's excellent advice!

Jenni

Thanks for checking in Jenni. Glad to hear they were able to change your room. And, yes, you are right...normally 21 is the cut off age for the Rix after 9 p.m. So they are being very accomodating! Have a great rest of your trip!

I have a question that may have been covered already - sorry to repeat...

Is there a changing area at the Dig Site Pool? We dislike squelching back to our room - and especially since the resort seems pretty spread out, it will be good to know whether we can carry our suits or need to wear them.

Many thanks!

Yes, there is a shower/restroom area right behind Siesta's snack bar next to the pool.

Hello All!
It has been a busy past few weeks for me! I have spent most of it being sick yet again and now we have some large conventions coming in.

Anywho, 7B should be back up in a few days. 7A is also now out for rehab.

Also as a request from us at the front desk, if you happen to get any pizza flyers under your door, please don't throw them away! Bring them up to us at the desk! Let us know when you found it, so we can work on stopping these people from sneaking into Coronado. We were able to catch one of them last week when a guest brought up a flier as soon as it was shoved under her door!
And please, please, please don't order from them! If you want pizza, please use Papa John's or Domino's.

JamesLynn, sorry to hear you've been sick again. I was down and out for a couple of days last week (missed two days of work). Hope you are better soon.

As always, thanks for the update!

I don't know if they are allowed or not. I did not see any for sale in the gift shop and no one was using them in the Dig Site pool while we were there.

We stayed at CSR for one night on June 13th before our package began. We've only stayed at the Deluxe resorts so we were a little nervous and wanted to test out a moderate. Really pretty resort. Our room wasn't ready so we went to the Temple Pool for a little. The pool area is really nice and plenty of chairs. We had some lunch at Siestas, basic counter service but the service was quick and the staff were friendly. Since we had dinner reservations we asked if there were any rooms ready and they were able to give us one in Casitas 2 (which was where they originally said we were). It was not a renovated room, but it was fine and looked onto a little courtyard. It was clean, a little worn which was to be expected that's why they're doing a rehab! The size was very similar to AKL or WL rooms. We were really close to Bus stop 2 and got a bus right away to MK, travel time was pretty quick. Not much of a wait for a bus back either right before the fireworks. When we got back to the resort we did find that they never delivered our luggage (we used Magical Express). The CM was very nice and helpful and managed to track it down, it had been delivered to another room (presumably the room we were supposed to be in, but he said it was in Casitas 5 when we were told we were supposed to be in 2). Anyway, they got it all straightened out and it wasn't a problem. So if you do switch rooms before Magical Express comes, you might want to be sure to have them note that. My DF said the resort was really pretty at night and if we were staying longer we would have liked to sit outside near the lobby. We would definitely staying there again sometime, and I thought it was a great value, although we will still prefer the Deluxe resorts.

Thanks for the report. Glad you enjoyed your one night stay at the CSR!

Going down to the Orlando area on business next month, so of course I have managed my stay at WDW. Decided to book CSR, since it's the only moderate left that I haven't stayed at. I know that some of the resort has been renovated recently, and I would like a renovated room. I know there are alot of CSR fans out there so, what should I do for a room request? Thanks everybody!

If you want a renovated room, ask for any of the Cabanas, Casitas 4 or 5 or Ranchos 6A or 6B or 7B. Ranchos 7A is down now for rehab and then all they have left is the first three floors of Casitas 1, 2 and 3 (the fourth floor is already done in those buildings).
