We're going in late August and have also requested a renovated room. By then, I'd imagine that the resort will be in a position where the only rooms not renovated will be the ones currently being worked on in order to meet the 10/09 completion, so we're banking on it being close to impossible not to get a renovated room then.:cool1:

We will be returning to CSR and would like to know if we can use our refillable mugs that we bought in 2005 . Has anyone got a picture of the current mugs. Also can someone give me the site where I can make my on-
line check in, or is it only avalible to US citizens.
Thanks cjaycy

Hi cjaycy,
The official line is that mugs are only to be used during the trip in which you purchased them, not 4 years later.

True, the official policy is that mugs are only good for length of stay, but the current CSR mugs have not changed in terms of design. Also, while at the Dig Site on May 31st I saw a family bring 1 All Star Sports, 1 Port Orleans Riverside and 1 Beach Club mug (all from at least 2 or 3 years ago as they were resort specific) to Siestas to be refilled....and the staff refilled them, no questions asked. I'm not supporting this practice, just stating what I saw.

Not a bad theory, but typically they have only been closing 1 building per month. They have 4 buildings left to do (Ranchos 7A, Casitas 1, 2 and 3 (floors 1-3). They wont have Casitas 1, 2 AND 3 closed at the same time, that takes away too many rooms in close proximity to the convestion center. Also, the Casitas make up the vast majority of the rooms at CSR, 1024, whereas the Ranchos have 624 and the Cabanas 316.

My guess is they will do Ranchos 7A next, then close floors of the Casitas. Like Floor 3 of Casitas 1,2,3 and then Floor 2 and floor 1.

I'm excited to hear this. CSR is our favorite resort and now that's it's being remodeled we'll have to plan another stay there.

You are right. Ranchos 7A is next and, could in fact, have already been started on (JamesLynn hasn't been on for about a week with an update but the last time she was here Ranchos 7B was almost done).

Our flight leaves early tomorrow and we should be at CSR by noon. I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight.:cheer2:

I will have to take a benadryl the night before we leave or I would never get any sleep! :lmao: I am like the old Disney commercial when the kids couldn't fall asleep because they were to excited!! Hope you have a great trip!

I have 6 nights to go and i have been like those kids for a week. I should take something or I am going to fall over!

OMG I still have 109 days to go and I'm already there. I'm surprising DH w/ an upgrade from Pop to CS for his b-day. He's always wanted to stay there. What better way to celebrate his 40th!

How often do you get upgraded here? I booked a standard view. Just wondering if they will upgrade us to a water view when we get there?

It really depends on how crowded the resort is, the CM, etc. We've only paid standard view every trip but one and out of those remaining six trips, we were upgraded five times to a water view (last year we were upgraded to a suite with a waterview--but it was our 25th anniversary).

At CSR now. Would not be online if I didn't have to take a final for school this morning. The resort is beautiful. We were originally placed in Ranchos 6B but asked if we could possibly be placed in Casitas 4 or 5 which was the request I faxed. We were placed in Casitas 4, 1st floor just around the corner from the quiet pool. We have a very short walk to the bus stop which is awesome. I love how close the resort is to all the parks, it seems like as soon as you pull out of the resort you arrive where you are going.

The only complaint I have is with housekeeping. I'm giving it one more day before I complain. We have been here since Monday and have only received toiletries once. We have not had a bag for our ice bucket on two different occasions (not a real big deal), we had asked for extra towels ealier in the week and had been using them for the quiet pool and the other day the maid removed them from the room (no they hadn't been used, they were sitting on top of DD's suitcase) and the kicker was last night picked up one of the glasses and it was filthy dirty, all three glasses were dirty. I have left a tip everyday not expecting anything more than a clean room. I'm sure not everyone has this experience and I hope it doesn't deter anyone from this resort because the resort it beautiful. We couldn't have a better location for our room and the bus service is awesome. I just think they need to work on some of the housekeepers.

Here's hoping the service gets better between now and Wed. I'll let you all know.

I wouldn't wait another day. I would call about housekeeping now. This seems to be a growing trend at ALL Disney resorts and until people consistently complain it is going to consistently happen.

I'm so glad they were able to switch your room and that you love the resort. Please report when you are back. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Yes we had a pretty unpleasant experience with mousekeeping as well but like KatMark said, I heard it's a trend with all the resorts so I'm not letting that deter us from staying there again next year!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!
