Ooooh...a surprise trip, yes! I love it. Please let us know how they react, etc. Good thing there is more than one hammock! :rotfl:

I promise to let you know how they react. They will be extremely excited until they realize how long it takes to get there in a car from Texas! :rotfl2:

Leaving tomorrow for CSR all my last minute things are being done now ....!!!! YAY:thumbsup2

If I were there, I'd make room! I'd start giving out numbers. :rotfl:

Just keep my hammock warm and have a nice cool drink while doing so. :thumbsup2

Kathy, you ook the words right out of my laptop!!! :rotfl:Although I'd like a cool hammock, please...not a sweaty one. :rotfl2:

Have a great trip! We just returned on Sunday so I'm having warm, sunny weather withdrawal. It's back to work for DH & laundry, bickering DSs for me.

We were very pleased with CSR and wish we had more time to fully enjoy the resort & its amenities. We did see an alligator the morning of check out which delighted our boys. LOL

That's very odd - Pirate rooms are at Caribbean Beach, not Coronado Springs.

Hi everyone - I realize room location preferences are very personal, but I wonder if anyone could offer an experienced opinion. We’re leaving in a week (hooray!), and it will be our first visit to CSR (though we’ve been to WDW many times). I’m planning to make my room request shortly.

Our trip will have a bit of a split personality, which is why I’m a little unsure of my first choice. It will be me, DH, and DS (3). We’ll be staying for a week, during about 2-3 days of which I will be attending a convention at the resort. I’m also six months pregnant . . . normally walking wouldn’t be a big deal at all, but I’m inclined to be a little more conveniently located this time. But of all considerations, a renovated room is the most important—the queen bed will make an enormous difference to me on this trip.

Being there with a 3-year-old (who will most certainly spend some time at the Dig Site, especially when I’m working) my instinct is Cabanas 8A, but I wonder if I’m better off requesting Casitas 4 so that I’m somewhat closer to the convention center (not that I expect to go back and forth to the room all that much). Anything in Ranchos feels too far to me.

After Cabanas 8A, would any Cabana location be preferable? Better than Casitas 4 (or 5)? Do folks opting for the quieter area of Casitas tend to be frustrated by pre-schoolers (not that he’s particularly loud, just, you know, 3)?

Also, a pool question. We’ve most recently stayed at Pop Century, where I would much rather walk to a outlying building than be right on top of the main pool, which is busy and noisy 24/7. Is the Dig Site stay similar, or is not as much of an issue at CSR?

Many thanks for your help!
Julie

We just returned from our stay at CSR and very pleased with the resort & location. I had noted during reservations & faxed a request for the Cabanas section or a renovated room elsewhere.

We were pleasantly surprised with our corner room at Cabanas 8B. I loved the corner location because of the double windows. The location was quiet and never seemed crowded at all.

It was literally steps away from the quiet pool & laundry plus *maybe* a 1-2 minute walk from the Dig Site. Hammocks were nearby too.

A few times we walked to El Centro and didn't mind the walk. I'm not 6 months pregnant either.

Have a great trip!!

we just got back from a week at CBR pirate room and we got a 40% off pin so we just made a new resi for November at CSR!! we have never stayed there because I thought the rooms looked so tacky but after I saw the pics of the new room we cant wait!we got a king room but I am thinking about changing to standard room...how much more am I paying for the king?I may change it and add a extra night..

You are paying $25 extra per night for a king room.

Wow it looks like CSR will be packed in the upcoming days!!!!!!!!!! All you guys make sure to have a nice cool drink for those of us who have to wait! LOL And you cannot come back here unless you have LOTS of pics! I need a Panchitos picture LOL

Hi all!

I have just gotten around to stopping in and telling everyone about my unbelievable stay at CSR a few weeks ago.

I was visiting Disney for just one night, and chose CSR. I was in Casitas 4, 4th floor about half way down the hall overlooking the "Not so" quiet pool. We needed a early check in, and the cast was able to accommodate that request with great ease. (DISCLAIMER: All Walt Disney World Resort owned and operated Resorts have a guaranteed check in time of 3:00 PM for the resorts, 4:00 PM for the villas. Any request for an early check in is just that, a request, and is not guaranteed.)

All in all, CSR is a great new vacation choice as I will definitely stay here in the near future. Not only because of the great staff, but the cleanliness of the rooms, and the fact they have all recently been renovated.

We were just at CSR a month ago and I already miss it :( Hope everyone that's going soon has a great time, sip a margarita for me! Oh and have one of the yummy coffee drinks from Cafe Rix for me, they're sooooo good.

I have a question for all the CSR experts;) About how long does it take to get to Animal Kingdom on the bus from CSR? On the map that I have (kind of old) it looks like it's pretty close by. I'm trying to plan an early ADR @ Animal Kingdom (pre RD) but I hate to make DH get up too early (he's the only sleeper in the family drives me crazy).
Thanks for the help,
Lauire:goodvibes

Not as fast as you'd think. For us, it stopped at Blizzard Beach both ways. Not so bad on the way there, but on the way back, jamming in a bunch of people in dripping swimsuits into a standing room only bus -- not so great.

We timed it on the way back and it took as long to get back from AK with a stop at BB as it did to get to MK.
