I just had to stop by my favorite thread and do a little happy :dance3:dance:cool1: we just paid off our upcoming trip to CSR!! I want to thank KatMark:hug: for recommending CSR and all of her wonderful advise! Thanks for all that you do and answering all of our questions!

Let me do a little happy dance for you to :banana::banana::banana:

Its always a great feeling when you pay a trip package off in full!
We are chipping away at ours slowly but surely;)

All of this info is SOOOO helpful!

Another quick question....does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to take a cab from CSR to the Boma restaurant at AKLodge?? We are thinking of making an ADR for here on the day we stay at CSR for a "resort day".

Thanks for any help you can lend!

I don't know the answer to the cab cost, but definitely make an ADR for Boma and wander around AKL. Boma is one of our favorite places to eat, and AKL will be our resort next trip (it would have been this trip, but DH is not coming with us this time). DH's favorite resort is CSR, but he wants to try AKL and he doesn't ask for much. :lovestruc I'm excited to try it too - we love eating there and seeing the animals.

I've been lurking on this site for some time now as we'll be vacationing at CSR the beginning of June. I love all that I've learned reading this thread and wanted to thank all who provided the great info. Does anyone know if there are king rooms that also have a water view? The reason I ask is that I chose to pay for a king room and, therefore, didn't have the option of paying for a water view room. I've requested a room in the Cabana section, preferably with a water view. If we end up with a parking lot view that will be fine, but water view would be a bonus.

Hi all, I do not post much here, but am an avid lurker. We will be back at CSR fpr the second time Starting Thanksgiving day. I just had to come and share that I got to extend my trip by one day!!! I found out I am getting to do an extra summer workshop so I am putting a potrion of that money toward extending our trip. My question is this: Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do around the resort with a 6 year old other than the pool? We are southerners and I am afraid it will be too cold for us. There was only one day last year that I would have considered getting in the pool. The others were just too cool for us. I think with 6 park days we will be able to spare some down time this trip.

Welcome back to CSR! There is the arcade, the playground; the marina is supposed to be open during holidays, not sure if that includes Thanksgiving at this point or not, so you could maybe rent bikes. You could also go over to one of the minitaure golf courses--we always enjoy those.

Southerner here too, but my kids (6 and 9 currently) have been swimming at WDW in January when it was about 60 degrees out (I was not swimming ;)). CSR has a great playground, and my kids love to wander around the resort and look at the fountains, do cartwheels in the grass, etc. It doesn't take much to entertain them, I guess. There is an arcade, but we always avoid those on vacation. I don't know if the marina will be open when you go, but my kids want to rent a surrey bike and have mom and dad pedal them around. I think it will be closed when we are there, though.

On our down days, we love to go to AKL and look at the animals (and eat at Boma). We also love to go to DTD and look at the Lego sculptures and shop. They also like to ride the resort monorail - it is a nice break. But my kids love to swim, so I expect any down time will be spent in the pool when we go next month.

You are getting good and responding to people. Do you want to take my job of updating? :worship: :lmao:

We love the AKL and can't wait to try it. As much as I love CSR, I really want a savannah view so I can sit on the patio and drink my coffee and watch the giraffes. I think next year, we are doing a split stay with AKL and CSR...that way I get the best of both worlds! :cool1:

Yes, there are king rooms with water views. I don't know if you can pay for both though. But we had a king room as part of our junior suite in September, and we definitely had a water view of the lake. :)

No way! You are doing great, and I will slink off into obscurity once my trip is over until I am planning again. I've spent the whole day on the DIS - my house is a mess! :rotfl2:

We are planning Universal for Harry Potter and AKL next summer. But I am going to enjoy this short trip to CSR first!

Adding my thanks, too! We just paid off our upcoming vacation on Tax Day. That made it easy to remember...""Pay Uncle Sam...Pay Disney". Paying Disney was alot more fun!

Our DS (9 & 6) are so excited because this is their first time going to Disney. I haven't told them that we'll be there during Star Wars weekend but know they will be ecstatic.

Thanks for offering all of the info, pictures, etc of CSR. It was because of this thread that we chose the Coronado.

We did the CSR to Boma by taxi last Wednesday. We were still on the ME dropping off at CBR at 4:05 and our dinner ressies for Boma were at 4:30! We quickly checked in at CSR, the taxi was already waiting and we made it to Boma by 4:41. The fee was a bit over $8 for 2 adults and an toddler. We gave him $12 since he got us there in record time! :cool1:

Thank you! It feels sooooo good to know that you WILL be going to Disney in 6 weeks! Keep chipping....it will be paid for before you know it!

Hi All I just booked a quick fix trip to Disney for me and my DS14 , we will be staying CSR ths will be our 2nd time there we really like it the first time. Were leaving on 4/29 - 5/3

Can anyone tell me about the club that is there now I think club Rix it is called I can’t find anything on it, I did read somewhere I don’t remember where that it plays the top 40 hits????? Am I right?

We'll be checking into csr in 6 days! woohoo. I'm trying to put my room request together to fax over, does this sound ok for a room location... "top floor, renovated room in either cabanas 8b/8a/9a or ranchos 7b/6b"???
Is the ranchos section renovated??? We really just want to be close to the pool, we'll have our own car so bus stop location isnt important.
Thanks!

Hello,
We'll be checking in to CSR on 4/28. My husband called the resort last night to give our room requests. Should we fax as well or is a phone call enough?? Thanks!

I totally vote for the rest of the world being off! :lmao:

Sounds reasonable. It's not a big deal where we are, but if someone asked my preference, then it would be a renovated room close to the Dig Site. Since they're not asking, I don't want to be demanding! :rotfl2: We had not planned to be taking this trip, so just being there is a huge bonus for us! Everything else is just sprinkles on a Mickey Bar! :mickeybar

Ranchos 6B is right across from 7B. If you don't get Cabanas, then you could request to be there. It's close to the main pool and has the new rooms!

Fax. The Call Center is famous for not putting the requests in. We've had several guests get very unDisney, when they find out that we have no such request on their reservation. Then we get to play the shuffle the rooms game!

It's call Rix Lounge and it does play top 40 hits.
Here's their website:
http://www.rixlounge.com/
It's beautiful inside!

And as an FYI for all, Rix does not let you bring your kids in after 9 pm. And please don't leave them sitting outside Rix while you go in to have a drink! Especially if they are really little!

Hi JamesLynn and KatMark!:worship:
Thanks for all of the very patient and thorough answerd you provide. Tomorrow starts my countdown clock of four months. We always go at the end of August to sort of cap off the summer. I don't care where they put us. I am sooooo excited. I love these family vacations and with my DS11 and DD8, this could be our best yet!:w:cloud9:
