Woo hoo, I just got my braces off yesterday!! After years of pain and torture (and I do mean that, you guys have NO idea what I went through lol).....they're finally off! How many of you have braces?

i had 'em twice. Once for my top front teeth and again for all my teeth. Still have a retainer though. At least I only wear it at night.

I had braces! I got them off in 6th grade and now I just have a retainer! yay!

:smooth:

I never needed braces or any mouth gear! I guess I'm one of the lucky few. :D :) :D

Boy you all ahh NO idea! I started going to an orthadontist when i was in like 5th grade. I have had braces on the top and bottem (4 front teeth only), then i had pallet expanders (on top and bottem), then braces on ALL of my teeth (top and bottem), and now i only have retainers to sleep with in at night. The sad thing is, my teeth weren't really THAT crooked, they were just stubborn. But now i have perfectly straight teeth!

I think I may have you all beat. I've had braces for 7 years and 9 months. I had mouth surgery because two of my teeth had gotten caught behind my jaw bone. And then I had metal chains attached from inside of my gums to my lower teeth for 1 1/2 yrs. to pull my teeth down. After getting my braces every month tightened I couldn't eat solid food for 5 days. But that's over and now I will hopefully get my braces off in September, just in time for my 17th b-day! And this reminds me that I need to go put rubber bands in.

I've had them for since March 2001 and I have about another year...I'm ready for them to be off and my teeth to be pretty! :)

Amgrease that sounds so painful! I had to get mouth surgery too. One of my permanent teeth was buried in the middle of the roof of my mouth. So they cut it open, removed lots of junk, and "carved" a path to where the tooth should be. For two years the tooth was slowly pulled into place by a string. The surgery was horrible, I've never felt pain like that before lol. But now I'm done with all that :)

i just got teeth taken out and i have to get them around the end of this month/beginning of august.:(

I have braces, but I think that they are coming off this winter, but I don't know cuz i just broke a brace! Then I just got this thing snipped above my two front teeth so that adds time too! :( But hopefully soon they will come off!

I never needed braces but my brother has a bunch of mouth problems and has been through the mouth surgery, the expanders, the chains, braces and much more.

Amgrease: OUCH!!!:( man you went through a looooooooong time with braces. Ihad my braces on for like a year and 2 weeks. I got 'em off July 2 and have a retainer now. I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy I didnt have to have years of torture like some of my friends do. but in order to have my braces out on i did have to have 11 teeth pulled, not all at one time though!!! Then I had head gear, rubber bands and a lip bumper b4 i got my braces on so I was in preperation for about 1 1/2 to 2 years. But man Im so glad its over!!! Congrats BabyLove99!!!

I had braces for about 3 and a half years. I just got them off like 3 weeks ago. I had everything rubber bands, night brace, pallet expander. My teeth were so crooked.

Man, after that painful story, it makes me really thankful that I never needed braces. My teeth aren't totally perfect but are nice enough that I don't need braces. I'm lucky!!!:)

I had braces and a high rack and now I have a retainer

I've had braces for two years so far. I've had a high rack, chains, and jaspers. (they're like springs.) I had at least 8 teeth pulled before i got them on too.

I've had braces for i think 2 years. Or maybe 3. lol, i can't remember. My teeth are completely straight now, so i think i should get them off, but my orthodontist keeps finding more stuff that's wrong w/ my mouth.
