Who has used these? Any recommendations? I've looked and seen people have ordered from Rekeydesigns.com, but how have these worked? Anyone used the toddler size before? I'd like to put on DS's ankle, to keep him from playing with it. Thoughts?

DS will only be 13 months, I don't expect to lose him, but if I do, since he can't talk, it would be nice if he has some sort of ID.

Thanks!

This may sound strange, but I have a friend who always writes her cell phone number with a sharpie on her kids arms. That helps if they are lost, but it also makes them less likely to be picked out by someone wanting to hurt a child because they are more noticeable with black marker all over them. I have never tried it, but it works for her! :)

My daughter has been wearing the bands from sayitbands.com since she was about that age. She's "usually" pretty good about wearing them and at age 2 she seems to understand that her bracelet has mamas phone number on it. I've had really good experience dealing with sayitbands.com. Good luck!

I just saw a post on an other board where she made shipping labels with all the information on them. Cell #s and mom and dad name, resort etc. She then put the label on the child's back of shirt. She said she may have to replace the label once or twice but it worked like a charm.

We got id tags like these when we took our daughter to WDW at 13 mos.

I used a key ring to loop it through belt loops, overall/sundress straps, shoes laces, etc. My daughter never would have kept a bracelet on her ankle or wrist so this worked for us. We even practiced enough that we would ask
"who are you" and she would point at wherever the tag was on her. (we practiced this ALOT before our trip)

We were able to fit 2 cell numbers, her name and allergy info (she was allergic to wheat so we did not want someone to give her a cookie or something similar to comfort her, so we figured this was a good way to warn someone).

We still use the tags and my daughter is now 30 months and they have held up through many vacations and outings.

What type did you get? I got mine there too and i could barely fit our number including area code on one line, and then there was only enough to fit two names one another line, and then two names on the third line... I also got mine at Petsmart and I also attach mine directly on the belt loop too... This is i think the most affordable and durable type too...

Thanks! I ordered a couple from sayitbands, and I'm also going to get some tags from Petsmart. We'll see what works...

Oh, woops, must've overlooked that link posted for petsmart, so i just checked it out and scrolled a little lower... i did find the tags where you could put more detailed info... this looks great, i will have to get a couple of those too! i didn't seem to see them when i went to buy my tags at the actual store awhile ago, it looks like online i think...

We were there last fall with our 3 1/2 and 2 year old. I had purchased the bracelets and the id tags because 1)I am a worrier and 2) our 2 year old is a runner -- sees something he likes and is gone! :rotfl2:

I had a problem with the bracelets because they were too big for both kids' arms, even though we had purchased the "child" size and both kids refused to wear them on their ankels. I have no idea why. No amount of promises, bribes or threats would convince them to leave the bracelets alone :lmao: Our 2 year old was quicker at getting them off his ankle and over his shoes then I was at putting them on!

I had a problem with the tags because both kids spent most days in their crocs and I couldn't figure out a good way to attach them to there shoes. I tried pinning them on their clothes but they really seemed to bother my kids where ever I put them. I even tried pinning them on their clothes before getting the kids dressed -- no luck.

Thankfully, I had brought a 3rd option to WDW, just in case. I purchased some Avery address labels and used a Sharpie to write "If Lost" on the top with "Please call XXX-XXXX" underneath and stuck them on the back of each kids shirt right by the collar. It worked GREAT! I would start with a new one in the morning and then replace it in the afternoon after nap time. We got so many positive comments from people standing behind us in lines and plenty of CMs told us what a great idea it was. They mentioned that it didn't include too much info and that it was easy to see/find. I knew that this was key for the 2 year old because he wasn't old enough to tell someone where to look for the info. We were even selected for a "Dream" (got to ride Dumbo with Mickey & Minnie :cool1: ) and the CM who selected us said it was because he saw the kids stickers ... how cool is that?!?!

Hope this helps! I think the bracelets and tags are great ideas -- they just don't work for all kids.

Have a great trip!

I have used avery stickers before also but i put them inside the kids shirts. I dont want people in line seeing my kids name and my info. we also take pics of our kids with our cameras or cell phones just in case :)I have never lost a kid yet ( we have 5 kids )TG and 1 is 15 and Autistic . You can also go to City hall and they have a tag the kids can wear that has a string atatched for a belt loop etc. My 5 yr old loves it because it has minni/mickey on it .CM are trained to look for these on kids belt loops when they get lost and also the back of there shirts and inside shoes for parents info. We also add grams # at home just in case our cell phones die in the parks .You might want to look up Autism links for products because Autistic kids are known "Runners" and they have great products on some of the sites. if you need links let me know :)

Didn't know they had this at city hall, will check it out Sunday when we arrive :cool1: For our trip last year, and our upcoming trip next week we printed wallet size pictures of our DS (4), wrote his name, our hotel info, and our cell phones (along with my parents home number in case our phones weren't working), then put clear duct tape on each side to seal it. He liked having his own ID, and we just put it in his pocket each morning. Will also take a picture of him each morning so we don't forget what he's wearing in case we get separated.

I have used the Sharpie on the arm method. It works great because it's obvious for anyone trying to help. I got the silicone bracelets with our cell #'s on them for our last trip and that was great for our older kids, but I'm pretty sure our little guy (just turned 3) would've been able to explain to someone that our numbers were on there. Since so many kids wear those bracelets I don't think anyone trying to help would automatically look there. The kids did like the bracelets though and I got them each their own colour.

I can't figure out how to post the link: but if you google Wristbands with a Message, I'm sure you'll find it. We ordered those, they came quickly and we've used them on numerous trips, both Disney and others.

I found these temporary tattoos that I am trying out for our trip next month. Evidently I can't post links yet but it is safetytat . com (remove spaces) You customize them with your cell number and apply them to your child somewhere where they can be easily found. My two are 3 and 5 and love temporary tattoos so this should work great.

We have used tattoos for our toddler from here for several or our trips and love them! We always put in on the back of her leg near her ankle. I like that they are medical grade and do not stand out too much in photos! We always have a lot of people asking us about them on our trip too!

I bought a bracelet like you mentioned for my DD who is 5 wrote cell numbers with the sharpie etc only to relize it fell off her tiny arm UGHH. now I had to think quick cause we are leaving soon and a friend gave me a luggae tag that has a flap on it to write the info on..So i will do that or the sticker method like i described earlier .. just wanted to give another option to confuse you even more <G>

I ordered these too. They're really cute and I liked that they have a package where I could do half boy design and half girl design so both of the kids could get a "tattoo" that would appeal to them.

We have these and when we are on vacation my dd (4) just automatically puts it on herself when she gets dressed, so she's used to it and it dosen't seem to bother her. And, when we were there in January she had her picture taken with Ariel in the am and then in the afternoon we went to see the princesses in toontown and the photographer said "I remember you from Ariel's grotto this morning, I remember your bracelet" and she said "it's my id bracelet" http://www.mypreciouskid.com/medical-id-bracelet.html
I like those tattoos too, might have to get some of those for our next trip.
