Boys Tuxedo ...Help, please???

I know the website has been posted here, but I can't find it when doing a search. My son AND daughter are in a wedding in April. The bride just told me the cost of my 6 yo ds's tux...$140!!!! What!!??!! I remember seeing a thread regarding an online tuxedo rental place that all boys tuxes were around $20. Can someone please send me the link or make any suggestions?? I think this is totally outrageous, especially since I have the expense of two children for this wedding, plus the gift, accommodations, etc.

BTW - my son will be making his first communion next May ('09) - maybe I can purchse something that would suit both needs?? I'd appreciate any help you can give.

There are lots of ebay stores that sellnew tuxedos for boys and beautiful flower girls dresses. I think my daughter's dress was about $35 shipped.

I have used gagas and loved them I only spent 50.00 to rent 2 tuxes for my boys for a wedding. They were a lifesaver, my sister wanted me to rent some for 70.00 a piece. You get to keep them for two weeks so you can have them ahead of time to exchange sizes if needed. We didn't need to, but the peace of mind was priceless. They even stuck candy in the neatly wrapped box for the kids. To top it off they included a return postage sticker for when we were done to send it back.

I bought my DS's tuxedo (for our cruise last year) on ebay for $35. It was cheaper than even a sportcoat from Kohls and looked great on him. He still wears the pants to school (he's 9--what does he care?!)

try www.tux4boys.net you own it for $40 and don't have to worry about stains or tears or anything.

I ahve oprdered from them twice for a total of 3 tuxedo's and never been unhappy.

I just bought one for DS on ebay... They have some for as little as 10$, but I had to get one that was $35 to match the men's... it had a winged collar shirt and the black buttons... it was adorable and fit perfectly (they have clothing measurements in the listings). It was going to cost $170 to RENT him a tux from the same place as the men...

Thank you for all of your responses. One more thing that I'm concerned about. Do the boys really look the same as the rest of the bridal party since it is a different tux?? I don't want to upset the bride if I chose this route, but $140 sounds too crazy for me to shell out for a 6yo for 1 day - at least my daughter gets to keep the dress and shoes.

I'd check it with the bride... let her help pick the style of tux from the internet. But most reasonable people wouldn't mind you choosing a comparable option to save $120.

It is expensive and I am glad you are researching option...for me it was the new shoes that killed me(my boys wore them 3 times and they were stride rite... )

Unless they are choosing a very different styled tux, it should be close enough. They sell regular and tails on the internet. What we ended up doing is renting the matching vest and tie from the rental place ($20) and got the tux on ebay. I would just double check with the bride before ordering...
