Boys Soccer Showcase still on?

My son's soccer team is hoping to play in the boys soccer showcase at WWOS on 12/27-12/31; we haven't received any details yet. Odds it will still go on? It's not that far off now and would like to plan.

I am surprised its still on. I haven't heard of any events taking place yet.

There have been several junior golf tournaments held at WDW this fall. However, there is obviously a big difference between golf and soccer when it comes to social distancing.

Technically, ESPN WWoS is still closed until further notice. Most CMs who were there helping with the NBA have been re-deployed elsewhere. Unless something changes, I'd be very surprised if it happened.

Another issue would be, if they were to hold the event, where they would house all the participants/families (Disney does these events to make money, after all). They generally use the All-Stars for these types of events, but without the All-Stars, they'd be left with Pop and CBR (which both cater more to leisure travel, especially with the Skyliner). At this point, not enough of CSR is open to accommodate but that could change.

My understanding was that part of the reason they're aiming for a February reopening of ASMo was to potentially be able to host some (modified) spring events at WWoS.
