Called this morning to see if they were taking ADR's for June yet and they are not. In fact, the CM I spoke with knew nothing about this meal. Wonder if that was really true or just the company line?

I asked last night. He knew nothing about it.
I guess it's wait and see...

Company line? Why whatever do you mean? ;) ;)

OMG!!! I am WAY Excited!!! :hyper: :hyper: about this! I haven't even gone on THIS trip yet (my first WDW!) with my 14yr old and am aready planning the trip I want to do with my younger son (now 2.5yr). I would LOVE to take him to something like that. I thought I was going to have to hijack my niece when we go so I could take her to Cinderella's! Now I can bring another nephew instead if my son would rather have a boy with us! ::yes::

I think Disney has gone Princess crazy. :duck:

They have 3 Princess meals (5 five if you count lunch and dinner in the castle) and the tea at GF, (do they still have the $$$ tea where each girl gets a doll at the end?) They are about to open a salon in DTD where girls can have their hair and nails done, as well as make- up. :scratchin

It's about time they do something for the boys. :hyper:

I completely agree!! My sons for one do NOT like the Proncesses very much at all...in fact, the older one cringes when he sees all the Princess things. "boy" movies are alot easier for girls to like than the "girl" movies are for boys to like.
At least that has been MY experience with all the boys in my family.

SOOO happy to hear this!!!!!

Just subscribing to hear if anyone finds out an "official" response. Surely if it's starting in April they should be taking ADRs soon, right???
We'll be arriving April 22nd with 3 boys under 6yrs old............REALLY hoping this isn't just a rumor...........

I have a girl and a boy and I hope this is true just b/c I'd like some more variety in character meals. We love to do several character meals each trip and this would spice things up! :) ::MinnieMo

Pocahontas1 - we're going 6/3 - 6/10 and I have all of my ADRs made.... why wouldn't they let you make them? Are you going towards the end of the month?

Are they calling it a "boys" character buffet? If so, that is ridiculous. Girls like Toy Story as much as boys and even though they may say they don't, the boys like the Princesses!

I agree ... my girls would LOVE it!!!

I think it would be fun. I like H & V for character meals, and it has been a while since they have had breakfast. My DD will soon be 9, and she likes Buzz and Woody just as much as the Princesses...

My boys would love it but too bad it is at MGM (not in the plans for this trip) :sad2:

I think the OP was referring to not being able to make ADR's for the possible new character meal. We are going in June and have all of our ADR's made as well!

Anyone get any concrete news on this?? I posted this on the Rumors board too...........trying to get as many people to see this as possible so maybe someone will know for sure!! thanks

I think Disney has gone Princess crazy.

Ever see those old Looney Tunes cartoons where a character who's into money looks at something and it turns into a big dollar sign? That's what Disney execs see when they look at a princess.

If this heroes meal or whatever they want to call it proves that popular, it'll stick around and maybe even expand.

Still nothing concrete from Disney, but an article at MousePlanet said they spoke with someone who tried out for Sarge and he said that rehersals would run in March and the breakfast would start in April.

I predict that they will open up reservations on Feb. 1 - just a wild guess, I really don't know, just a pure guess on my part.

I spoke today to the rudest person ever, when i called disney dining, she grunted when i asked her "when you would be able to make a reservation for the toy story character breakfast" All she wanted to know is where did i get the info about the breakfast, when i said this board she said it figures some idiot makes a false post and i have people calling wasting my time and your time" Then she put me on hold for at least 2 min and came back and said its just a rumour there is no such breakfast , i said are you sure she uttered uh ah and she didnt ask if i needed anything she else she just hung up!!!!! Hope some manger was listening in on the call :p

No flames please, I just wanted to make a comment.

I see a lot of people with girls are riled up about some people calling it a boy's character meal.

If you had only boys you would understand our excitement. Not saying that girls don't like Toy Story, but this would be a buffet that has no princesses which is a big deal for Disney.

I feel that Disney caters to girls about 80% vs 20% for boys...again just MHO. I agree with the other posters that it is much easier for girls to go to a Toy Story meal than 2 boys going to a princess breakfast.

No flames from me, but I dont get why its being called "boys character meal"? Shouldn't it just be called the "Toy Story character mea"? Is it just because there are no princesses at it? There are girls who aren't princess crazy and are more than happy to attended any character meal regardless of who the characters are. The sweetpea and I can't wait to go to this one.

I have 3 children-DD(6),DS(5),DD(3). My oldest DD is all princess. My youngest is almost more boy than her brother. She just turned 3 on Saturday and when I asked her as how she was she said "umm....I'm almost a boy now" :rotfl2: I know all 3 of my children would really enjoy a Toy Story meal. We did only CP on our last trip and all 3 kids enjoyed that. When we saw the princesses in the parks my DS would have his photo taken with them and his older sister but my youngest wouldn't go near them. When we did do princess meals in 2004 she wouldn't look up for a single photo.

I also find it is difficult for me to purchase clothes for my tom boy. Most girl clothes are way too girly cute for her (and she only wear navy blue and black) and a lot of boys clothes are very boyish-not that she minds-she wears her brothers hand me downs not her sisters. But even most of the stuff at the Disney store is very boyish or girlish when a lot of it could be more unisex.

Uhhh...not my boys. They don't give a hoot about Princesses or TinkerBelle or Tea Parties or any of the Ultra-Girly stuff Disney has been leaning toward the last few years.

I'm not saying girls don't like Toy Story. I'm just saying WDW has become way too Girly.

High Time they put in something boys don't have to suffer through while they wait for the Universal days (which both the boys and girls enjoy.)
