Boy Names for Corey/Julie

Just asking. The baby's name may be a fait accompli.

There will be no Juniors in this family! No offense to those of you out there who have done this, but I already have one Corey and can't imagine the confusion of two!

We both agree on this by the way.

Something tells me Julie is one of those people that probably has the names of her future children picked out already. How 'bout it Julie -- am I right?

First I have to say, this is a hilarious thread! I have enjoyed reading it.

Calypso, you are right Corey and I had a boy's name picked out almost as soon as we knew we were expecting. However, we are keeping it a secret until he is born. Not even our parents or closest friends know what he will be called and it is driving some of them absolutely nuts! Oh, how I love to torture people!

ROFL, that is just wrong in so many ways! JK! How hysterical that must be for you two!

I knew it!!! I was the same way with DD, it was when DS was due that we were undecided as I was so sure it was going to be a girl. Don't be surprised if we start asking for hints...(just ask Kevin about that!).

I had my kids' names picked out WAYYYY before I even considered having children. I discovered in an old diary kept when I was a young teen the names I had picked out. However, I'd forgotten about it until years later, when I discovered I had indeed named my chldren those names.

I thought I had spontaneously made them up when the kids were born.

Good for you! I think it's nobody else's business what name you choose and I applaud you for keeping it a secret, even from your parents and closest friends. We had several names picked out for both a boy or girl and made the decision after our children were born since we didn't know in advance which we were having. It was certainly fun to drive everyone a little crazy by not telling them the names we were considering, except for Zelda and Ogilthorpe, that is! ::MinnieMo

Thanks Cocowum. I began to start feeling like my old (emphasis on old) self late last week. I have just a teeny bit of catching up to do. ;) :scared1:

JULIE, DON'T TELL ANYONE THE NAME (except me, of course) AHEAD OF TIME. My sister talked me out of the name I had picked out for my daughter and I regret it since.

My sister kept her son's name a secret which made it fun for us. I told NC Beast that Sis needed a good strong Irish name like Connor before he was born (think I said it on the first time she was suppose to be induced--needed another try). She told me her potential names of the future kid when she called me the day after giving birth (one of the names was on my list for the distant future list).

NC Beast's side like naming after saints and/or Irish/Gaelic.

Sometimes it's good to tell what name you are planning on, because many years ago, I never told my sister (:cloud9: we were both pregnant at the same time:cloud9: ) what names we had chosen for our baby (before ultrasound pictures). Her daughter was born first and she named her Karen..... the very name I had wanted to name our baby if it was a girl. We had a daughter  and decided on another name. I told my sister about this many years later and she said that if I had told her my choice, she would have named the baby her second choice.... OH well......... so much for keeping the name a secret. Now that our daughters are 30ish, their given names suit them well. princess: princess:

My siblings are all a bit older than me and were expecting their kids at about the same time...we had a "Battle of the Brians" going on as each of them had decided that's the boy name they wanted -- my oldest sister won out, but there were some grumbles over it.

Our DD, had she been a boy, was going to be named Kyle. Now she is getting married to a Kyle next summer! :) (We later had a son but didn't end up naming him Kyle.)

You will finally have a "son" named Kyle. How nice for you!!! If he is anything like my SIL you will be blessed. I couldn't have ended up with a nicer "son" if I placed the order myself. :cool2:

I am not going to get into a weird name I have seen discussion again(last time I was accused of posting urban legends :rotfl: )but as a former L&D nurse I have seen parents name their kids some truly painful things.

Parents should be careful when they name their children. My friend had a son she called John.... unfortunately their last name was Cass. This was fine until his school chums started to call him Jack. She never thought of that happening!!!!!:sad2:

Calypso, you are right Corey and I had a boy's name picked out ("Jason," obviously)almost as soon as we knew we were expecting. However, we are keeping it a secret until he is born. Not even our parents or closest friends know what he will be called and it is driving some of them absolutely nuts! Oh, how I love to torture people!

I, for one, am very pleased to hear such a sensible attitude.

"Jason" makes a wonderful name for any boy. It could even work as a girl's name, if you are surprised.

Of course, if the images DID lead y'all astray on the gender, I might also suggest for a girl:

Mindy "UltrasoundShadow" Martin. :teeth:
