I just temperarily miss my larger chest. I wish I could just borrow it back for this dress I want to wear. I have been so pleased since my reduction surgery back in July, but now theres this dress. I love it, its a wrap around type dress where a little more chest could come in handy, but only temperarily.
Does anyone know if a push up bra would help?
I don't want to buy one for just one occasion unless I am sure it will work. Any suggestions?

Yes, a Wonderbra or something similar will work wonders.

I'd LOVE to have a reduction. Alas, with my medical history, I'm not getting any elective cosmetic surgery. DH is quite happy about that, but he's not the one who can't find bras that fit right or struggling with XL tops that pull across the chest.

I'm sure that wrap dress is going to look great, even w/o the push up bra!

Thanks for the words of encouragment. I am going to run to Kohls this morning when they open to see what I can find. They are close and we are leaving around 10 today.
I totally, totally can relate to what you said about the xl tops and pulling accross the chest, that was me. My back also would bother me from the pulling. I got little sympathy from people who did not have this problem, I would get comments like, people pay to have big chests and you can donate them to me.
If I wouldn't have had it done, I know it would have been fine to, and believe me if I had any type of medical history, I wouldn't have had it done either. NOTHING is worth the risk.
And just to add a side note to this, my sister in law had this done before I did, she regretted it SO much, she said she would LOVE to have her chest back. So there are two sides to the coin. She cried for about a year following her surgery because of her regret.

I have never missed mine. I had my reduction almost 4 years ago. But then again mine were so big! My back pain almost immediately went away and my dh said my whole attitude changed. I never realized it until they were gone how miserable they really made me. Lots of people thought I was crazy for wanting mine reduced also, those who knew me best was so glad I was doing it though. I think a wonderbra will do the trick for you though.

Question for you ladies...

My DD is 21 and is a 44D she is having a lot of trouble with her back.
How was your recovery? How long did it take to be able to go back to work?
I have told my DD geesh..I wish I had a little more, but she just looks miserable. She also had a benign lump taken out of her lymph node gland last year. The doctor said her body was trying to make another breast.
I just said, "What? You don't need anymore!"
She laughed a lot at that one, but this is a serious predicament for her.
Thanks for any help.

I honestly can tell you that I had an amazing recovery time. I also had a tummy tuck at the same time and I was don't remember my chest hurting me at all, just my tummy and that was minor compared to what I prepared for. If your dd has an office type job then I would imagine she could go back to work within a week. I was about the house with both procedure within a few days but taking it easy. The only part that was a bit of a pain was the drains that had to be changed every so often (thank goodness for dh's strong stomach) because when my came with him to pick me up they had to get her wheel chair because she almost passed out. The changeing of the drains is not for the squirmish, but that was only first few days anthen they were removed.
I went from a 36/38 DDD to a B/C, I went from an xlarge to a medium in tops. But most importantly, my back feels so much better and my posture also improved drastically.
Good luck to dd if she decides to do it, if you have anymore questions I would be glad to answer them.

Sherri,

Thanks for the help. We have been going around and around about this.
She wants to get it done, but she works at Meijers and she goes to college, too. It's hard to find the time to get it done. I told her the next time she goes to the doctor she needs to talk to her about it. We have mentioned it before and our doctor knows an excellent surgeon. Now, we just need to finalize it. I think my DD would feel 100% better.

Lisa- the only other thing I forgot to mention was the Doctor asked me if I was done having children. I think they usually like to wait and i'm not sure if its because of nursinig issues (if she wanted to nurse) or if it is more about getting a big chest again along with pregnancy. However, I did know someone who had it done in highschool so they will do it.
Good luck to your dd.
Maybe during summer break she can considerate it. I am off from work in the summer so thats why I did it then. Like I said, I anticipated a really long recovery and I really had an easy quick recovery. We were in Las Vegas less then three weeks later and I didn't skip a beat.

My DD won't be having any children. She has "womens issues", you know, weird periods, etc. The doctor already told her it would be very difficult for her to get pregnant. So, she has decided to adopt!
So, the breastfeeding thing is not an issue.
Good to know you were moving around after 3 weeks!
I will let her know so we can get moving on this while she is still on our health insurance. Yes, they will pay for it!

I miss my ****s, although I didn't have much to start with. I used to be a size 10 and a 36DD. I dieted down to a size 6 and am now a 34C. I miss them, they were awesome :sad1:

:lmao: I would have been happy with dd. I was a size h, sometimes i. It was always a pain having to order bras since normal stores don't carry sizes that large. I love going into a store and buying a c and no underwire!

Sadly I didn't choose to get rid of my DDs...I lost some weight and some of it came from my ****s. Believe me I'd happily be a size 6 with DDs

If you go to a wedding shop or a place where they sell bridesmaid dresses, they usually sell the foam inserts to put your bra for around $10-15. They are great if you are dressing up and want that little something extra : )

Also, regarding the comment made about waiting until having kids to have the surgery - I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that having children does create sag in the breast area, and a responsible plastic surgeron would recommend waiting until after children to have the surgery. That way, the results are more permenent. If she had it done before kids, she might want to have a second surgery, which would be harder due to the increased scar tissue.
