You would think that by now in this society they would be making a lot more dolls for boys--after all, they need to practice being daddies too! About 20 years ago they made My Buddy which would have been perfect for my 2 DS's. Do any of you know of sites/stores that sell boy dolls? So far I'm not impressed with what I've found on the searches. I saw the Twin ones on the American Girl site--do any of you have those?

Thanks for any help! :flower3:

When my DS was in preschool he really wanted a boy doll too...We went to a store called Friend 2 Make (or something like that--forget the actual name, but it's owned by the same company that does Build a Bear.)....they had 1 boy doll and 5 kajillion girl dolls:mad:. But he loved it, and the staff made quite a fuss over him--I don't think they got too many boys, LOL! It's the same thing as BAB--you pick the doll, stuff, accessorize, etc. He put it in jeans, a tshirt, and named it for his best friend at the time.

My son that is 5 now has a boy cabbage patch. He wanted a doll when my 2 neices were playing with theirs. My husband thought I was crazy when I bought him one. We even went to the dollar store and got the doll bottles. They are hard to find. I did get ours around christmas at Wal mart and he was on the top shelf hidden behind a stack of girls.

I found one boy doll (the only thing that makes him a boy is that he's dressed in blue) at Toys R Us for my DS for his 1st birthday.

And I got him a Ken doll for this Xmas.

I've found though that he likes the girl dolls just as much.

First off, good for you! I encourage my boys to play with what they like, not what they should play with because society dictates based on their gender. Second, I remember My buddy. I had My Friend Jenny when I was little and there was a boy doll in that series as well (My Friend, Mike, I think).

We got a doll for my youngest that was marketed to girls, but had on a blue "outfit/body/whatever it was". He loved that baby sooooo much, until he got "too cool" for it recently. He named it baby star wars. I found it on the little girls row at Target for around $10 at Christmas time.

I got my oldest a doll when he was potty training and just before his brother arrived. He didn't play with it at all, ever. I was glad that I didn't spend a ton of money on it.

American Girl sells a boy doll with hair (called a Bitty Twin). You can either get two boys, two girls, or one of each for $95. If you call an American Girl store in Chicago or New York, they can sell you just one doll for $55 (plus shipping and maybe tax depending upon your state). There is a choice of four or five hair color/skin tone choices.

I've seen boy dolls at Target and Sears. They are the same as girl dolls just wearing blue. Not cool dolls like My Buddy, didn't he talk and stuff?

DS has a 'baby', just a cheapo doll I got at the dollar store. He loves it though. Carries him everywhere. According to my father we are NOT allowed to call it a doll. :rotfl: We can only call it 'baby'.

doll lovin' boys. :)
My son still loves his Bitty Baby. We got him a Twinn doll when he was 5. They don't advertise boy dolls anymore, but I imagine if you call it shouldn't be a problem. If you search ebay for "boy twinn" there are some. Of course we custom ordered ours. They wear newborn sized clothing, and there are lots of women on ebay who make cute clothes. HTH.

We just got my son a doll in blue clothes.

If you can't find any- fathers can have little girls too!;)

I saw a few boy dolls from this place called my sibling dolls, they were kinda cute and American girlish.

My 6 year old daughter has some AG dolls and she has a bitty baby. She gave her bitty baby to my 3 year old son. He doesn't play with it all the time but when he does it so cute.

He bathes the baby, feeds her etc.

So what about just a baby doll instead of a boy doll?

We have several cabbage patch kids in our house. Also, build a bear has a doll stroller that is blue (instead of the usual pink) and they have slings if your little one is into baby wearing. :thumbsup2

My DD7 has the American Girl Bitty Twins, and my DS4 plays with them now too. The quality of the AG dolls is unbeatable in my opinion. If you think he will be playing with it alot, I'd go with the AG bitty twin boys. Like a PP said, call one of the stores (Chicago, NY, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, LA, Minneapolis) and you can purchase just 1 of the twins (though it sounds like you might be looking for 2 dolls anyway ;) ) AG sells the twins clothes seperate now, so you can buy clothes for just the boy too. Though the Bitty Twins don't have alot for the boys, they have enough to get him/them started ;)

ETA - Americangirl.com has some 2 of the boy twin clothes on sale right now. Check out their sale and last chance sections.

Fisher Price sells a Little Mommy boy doll that talks. I've seen it at TRU and strongly considered it for DS3, but he has already moved on from the doll phase apparently into Star Wars. He does have a Diego doll he likes a lot or what about a BAB dressed as a boy. We did a girl dol at Friends 2 B Made, but the boys were cute and not very expensive, but they only have a few stores around.

They do have dolls for boys....they are called "Action Figures".

My wife calls my Action Figures "man dolls" all the time! :rotfl:

my niece has a boy doll that is anatomically correct. my sil got it from target i think.

FYI you can get just one twin by calling a store, also. They will ship one. (Has to be a store, not the catalog.)

Thanks so much for all the great ideas! And yes, we do already have our fair share of "man dolls" aka Action Figures! I'm going to check out the Bitty twins since I do plan to get two anyways but I'm also heading to Target today so I'll see what is on the shelf there. I'll also look at some of the other suggestions since I've never heard of some of them before.

Thanks again! :flower3:

I think the baby alive boy doll is anatomically correct LOL!

My sister got my niece and nephew the AG twins.... unfortunately they don't make blond boy dolls with brown hair... but I just know my nephew is going to LOVE that he has a dolly too!
