Boy, do I miss DH's old mail order prescription company!!

DH's company just switched pharmacy plan to one that is run by Walgreen's. This company is horrible!! :mad: First, when this company took over, I had to get all new scripts for them to fill. He is on a number of meds and I actually called Walgreen's customer service to make sure everything was covered. 2 of the meds that he was always able to get mail order (3 month supply) now can not be obtained that way. They tell me I can just go to any local pharmacy. OK....drop off the new script. Within 5 minutes of being home, the drug store calls back and tells me that according to my plan, I can only get this med at a Walgreen's...no other pharmacy is allowed to fill it. So could someone please tell me WHY Customer Service didn't tell me this!!?? :rolleyes: Next, I have to call them again before I send in the scripts for the mail order. One of the meds they consider to be a "non-preferred" and I want to make sure that they will substitute a generic for it. No problem...they indicate this on DH's file. This Monday, when the meds hadn't arrived, I call them again. They tell me there is a problem with this non-preferred med. I explain to them that we have already been through this...check his records. OK...they are ready to ship to order...all problems have been worked out. ::yes:: It arrives today.....WITH THE WRONG MEDICINE!!!! :earseek: After 2 conversations, they still sent the nonpreferred brand! I call them up and really rip into them. They say they see that they were supposed to send a generic and "someone" closed the order and shipped it. I ask what they intend to do about it (I had given them a CC# and they charged me already). They put me on hold and come back and tell me that they will only charge me $50 for the med. I tell them no way...they will charge me $20 because that is what the generic (that they should of sent!!) would of cost me. More holding and finally they agreed to this. :bounce: I remembered to get the girls name in case they do not refund the money to my account. :rolleyes:

Why do things have to me so difficult anymore!!! :crazy2:

It shouldn't be so difficult to obtain medications. My mother is on 8 different medications. I get 2 mail-order from Canada, 4 mail-order generics through Express Scripts & two from Costco. I have sooo shopped around for the best price for each of these. The powers "that be" in this country should be ashamed that our citizens have to shop around like this for medications!

I hope your problem works out OK (usually, these things work great once you're established with a pharmacy).
