Bowling - Is this a good score?

Where we live, most of the alleys are Candelpin (smaller balls). My 6 year old wanted to go 10-pin bowling last night. We went and I actually really enjoyed it. Not knowing much about 10-pin, I don't know if my scores were any good. I bowled a 112 and a 137. For Candelpin, that'd be good. How about 10-pin? Is that good, or did I stink up the joint?

It's not bad at all for someone just starting 10 pin. Of course my husband is an avid bowler and his average is anywhere from 198 to 204, depending on the league night. So, anything under 180 and he's very upset. Me on the other hand, I average 114. I'm happy to get over 100. My highest game so far is 168. This is my first year on a league though.

I've never played candle stick, but I think it would be fun. DH is a big guy and throws a very powerful ball. I'd be afraid that he'd send a smaller ball flying out the back wall.

Our 3 ds are all certified bowling coaches and sometimes they bowl that for their game score in their league if they are having a bad night, so for someone who doesnt do 10 pin often its pretty good. Our 2 ds have 140 averages. Just curious, which do you like better? 10 pin or the candlestick?

Tough question.

I always THOUGHT I preferred candelstick, as I think there's more strategy (oh silly does that sound) involved. But I must say, having just 1 or 2 pins left standing and being able to knock them down last night, was pretty cool. It's definitely harder to control where the ball is going in 10-pin.

We used to bowl on a league. My average was about 130 and DH's was about 200. 300 is a perfect game and DH has bowled 2 of those. My best game ever was just over 200.

I'd say thats a good score for someone who has some exp bowling. My league avg is 117 and I've been bowling for 10 years off and on. Good job!
