Correct.

I'm bringing GBP (aka Pounds Sterling, United Kingdom Pounds, Greater Britain Pounds). GBP are good in England, Scotland, Gibraltar, etc.

The Gibraltar Pound (GIP) is good only in Gibraltar. It is not accepted anywhere else.

When we are in Gibraltar, try not to get Gibraltar Pounds as change. If you do, spend it before leaving.

OMgoodness!

So technically I could use up to 5 different currencies (except 3 are actually the same thing going by different names!) on this cruise? Really? Are you kidding me? Seriously nuts! printing this, and then handing it to the DH! I am DONE thinking about it! ack! Only problem is, he is usually much more content NOT to know what the heck I have planned to spend until after the fact when the bill comes in. Thinking about all that money up front makes him a crazy man.

Maybe I should just pay the exorbitant exhange rates and not worry about it!

No, really THANK YOU for the clarification, all the abbreviating had me confused. Got it now, GBP and GIP and good ol' dollars, well, don't actually HAVE any of it yet. . is this starting to be a circle kind of discussion?

(uum, not stopping in Canada are we? Those loonies use some other dollar right! :rotfl:)

So one last question, No Euros in the UK? :confused3 only GBP? My world traveler son is not home right now or he would be ROTFL at me I know.

I have made a vow that at ports the only shopping I will do is for Christmas Ornaments - I am slowly creating a tree with all the different countries/ports that we visit on our trips - try to find ones that are flat and not breakable.

Good idea! :thumbsup2

Wow. Do you remember yesterday (I think) when someone (sorry - I forgot who) reported that they'd been upgraded from an 11ADA to an 8ADA (I think) and their dm was upgraded too? Well, we got the abandoned 11ADA! I finally faxed in dh's medical form today, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Cool, huh? True, we lose our upgraded porthole, but I think we'll be so happy with a little extra room for the wheelchair, plus safety bars and all! So the new room is 7631 - whoa! Even on the party floor! I'll change it on the spreadsheets.

Ann

We absolutely adored that Deck and end (AFT) of the ship last cruise. So nice and quiet and that little secret deck just steps away. Congrats!

I made this journal for Brooklyn for the trip.

If you would like to use these please note that it is made to be printed back 2 back. So basically print odds then load the printer again and print evens.

It is made to fit in a 5.5 x 8.5 binder. Here is a link to the binders but they can be bought at Staples... binder

It can also be bound in many other ways too.

If you would like the original PDF to be emailed to ensure proper printing instead of printing through google docs just send me a PM.

Thanks to those tech savvy cruisers who were generous enough to correct all those extras on the spreadsheet. I checked & mine was already corrected. :thumbsup2

Lots to catch up on...welcome to new people...getting excited cuz it's soooo close!! :surfweb:

Best tip is to read the first couple pages of this thread. What an incredible amount of info can be found here! Starting your Cruise travels with the DCL Transatlantic...what a way to start. Check out the tips list post above (Post 2384 most recently) and ask any question you need to because someone will be gracious enough to answer even if it has been asked before. Looking forward to meeting you.:cloud9:

I couldn't get the TA journal to work either time but what a fantastic job on the B2B. What software program did you use? I am envious of your talent as I am of everyone who has made the beautiful TA stuff.

Sorry about that...I figured it out...I had the link set to "private" on the TA so it should be fixed now. :thumbsup2

I have the large dry earse board I can bring. Our of our staterooms is right outside the midship elevators on Deck 7. I am happy to have the board there or if someone else has another location or wants to keep up with the board then they are more then happy to use it.

I can personalize the board with stickers showing that it is the "DIS" board. I can print out our logo and stuff and make stickers out of it for the board.
Stephanie, I think people would appreciate it if you would handle the DIS message board for updates.

I'm sure any way you want to handle it would be fine with everyone.

Ok sounds great. There will be large Dry Erase Board placed on Stateroom #7542. It is Starboard Side, Outside of Midship Elevators on Deck 7. I will post pictures of what it will look like in the next few days.

If anyone has cabin changes, changes to events, news, etc just feel free to place it there. If you could date and time whatever you write that would be great. I will erase messages that are 2 days old if more space is needed.

Two weeks from right now we will be sailing to CASTAWAY!!!

Stephanie,

I thank you (and I'm sure others will too!) for handling the DIS message board.
