Sorry. It is I, again.

I just saw this on the main board (we're spending a couple of days at WDW before the cruise):

Dine at WDW quick service locations and receive a coupon for 20% off at participating WDW merchandise locations. You must purchase your merchandise between 9:00 AM to 12 PM Noon to receive the discount. Offer good through April 17, 2010 and subject to change without notice.

Participating locations:
* The Emporium or Mickey's Star Traders at Magic Kingdom
* Mouse Gear at Epcot
* Mickey's of Hollywood and Keystone Clothiers at Disney's Hollywood Studios
* Island Mercantile at Disney's Animal Kingdom
* World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney

So here's my question (yeah, I know it's a totally anal and not important one. So sue me...) Are any of those stores ones that have pirate hats? Don't some places even have a build-your-own type pirate hat thing? I seem to remember that maybe at Downtown Disney? Thanks.

I am sure the World of Disney would. They have anything Disney under the sun there! In fact, they have a whole pirate room! It's pretty cool! (I don't remember seeing a build your own pirate hat, but that could be new since I have been there last September.) I know that they have the treasure chests you can fill, and other things that are the custom make your own. :goodvibes

I haven't been on a TA, but on the Magic cruises I've been on that we used a board to communicate info/changes, it was one board and one person in charge of it, one location. Have never done a cruise with a board on every deck.

On the EB PC cruise, they did designate a white board message center on every deck midship, but that would be really hard to keep them all in sync with several different people doing it. I think one would be easier to keep all information current and most up to date.

So sorry to hear that. We have had to put down two cats in the past 8 years and it never gets any easier.

So the whiteboard discussion got me thinking. . .

We just had our stateroom changed to quite far FORWARD on the ship. Last time we sailed in a quite far AFT cabin and loved it. I am a bit nervous about the motion I felt when walking the ship to deliver FE last time when we were in a forward location. But that's not my question! :rotfl:

My question is we sailed on a SOLD OUT cruise last Sept'09 (least expensive sailing all year) and with lots and lots of kiddos and such. That said, we never really experienced a WAIT TIME for any of the elevators AFT ever, the whole cruise? One time I think we let a family with a big stroller go and we waited.

Are the FORWARD elevators that much busier? And does anyone think any elevator will be all that busy on this undersold cruise? I was just thinking we would grab an elevator up/down as needed and it would be no big deal to look at a whiteboard on any midship door whichever deck? Maybe I am not thinking this all the way through?

Past FORWARD cabin cruisers, let me know your elevator experience please. :)

Downloaded the Kindle app for my iPod Touch today. :surfweb: I then downloaded the free copy of Sherlock Holmes to test it out. :thumbsup2 It's not a full size Kindle but for free it's incredible and not hard to read. :3dglasses

Love love love my Kindle and free app sounds great! Way better than dragging books around and I've been able to get so many free books that I enjoy :)

Hold on a minute, if you please. joint scars are swell (I have a hip one). Chest scars are even better (haven't joined that club, knock on wood) but I really think that full honors has to go to the members of the hole-in-the-head club, of which both my husband and I are charter members! I actually have 3 drill holes (he only has one. Always was kinda wimpy), plus it is something we both have; it seems to me that 2 members of a family with the same scars ought to increase the total geometrically. I pretty sure that Jeanne (grlzmom) and her daughter Kayti would bear me out on this.

So, if there are any other members of the hole-in-the-head club amongst you readers, let's have a top secret meeting while at sea. We would, of course, have to check holes before allowing entrance to the (temporary and floating) clubhouse.
Ann

Yeah, hole in the head is a special club :) Two family members should get double credit for sure.

and you've had a bunch of kids since then? Your guardian :littleangel: was looking over you.

I feel blessed and lucky although the perinatologist was very uneasy, especially during the twin pregnancy. It's like Forrest Gump says "life is like a box of chocolates..."

Don't know about the build your own pirate hat thing but thanks for posting this, we go next week and I hope to eat and shop!

I have a quick pirate question...I have a pirate costume (which I will try on to make sure it fits before leaving) and it is red, black and white. I also have the mickey ears with the pink bandana that says "Pirate Princess" Would the pink look funny with the red?? :confused3

I have no fashion sense so need help with these things :rotfl:

I liked the ballot for the awards :thumbsup2

The forward elevators do not tend to be full except at times when there are large functions in the nightclub areas (start or end of these activities) and when the shows get out. So...a few times they are VERY busy, but most of the time you don't wait at all for them.

I'm on WBTA too....makes air fare easier!

We got a call from our travel agent last night. We were offered an upgrade!!! This was totally surprising because (1) who would think this would happen to us! and (2) my mom is in an accessible 11 and got moved to an accessible 8, and what are the chances of that?! So we are both way, way forward (literally, the most forward possible staterooms). We both went from 11s to 8s (we had a sideways 11 originally and my mom was all the way aft). She's now on deck 6, and we are below her on deck 5. We saw some not so glowing reports about our room -- there is a crew door nearby and it's right over the theater. Someone from another repo reviewed a room in this area and said there were late rehearsals for all the special shows and it was pretty noisy late at night. However, on the 2007 repo, we were directly above the movie theater for what seemed like endless very late showings of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie (we did a paid upgrade to an aft 5) and it did not prevent us from sleeping, although we could definitely hear it. So we just went for it. Who can resist the split bath and porthole!

I will go update our locations. Work has been terrible lately (but an unfortunate necessity to support my DCL habit) so I haven't been around here as much as I would have liked, but I look forward to meeting everyone. I did our FE gifts and door signs this weekend, which I guess means we are really going! Since we did the 2007 eastbound repo, we can be a little more relaxed about the planning, although we do have some loose ends to tie up. See everyone soon but had to share about the pixie dust to a group who would appreciate my amazement!!!

Ok....Now finally HERE'S something I can speak to.

No drill holes....scars....to be measured in feet. lol
First surgery was a tumor size of a plum on my rt. temporal lobe. Resected right inside the MRI machine in 7hrs of surgery. The scar is the shape of a question mark starting @ my rt temple and ending down below my rt ear. If you're really nice you can feel the screw in the side of my head.(2003)

Second was to release my cerebral tonsils which were trapped inside my spinal column (called chiari malformation). The scar is from the height of my foraemen magnum (notch in the back of your skull) to the level of C2. I have the scar and I had both a ring of C1 and C2 removed (not a disc mind you...actual vertabrae) I also have a synthetic patch on my dura the size of a post-it to make room for my too big brain (no lie just a good laugh!! lol). 9hrs of surgery then. (2007)

No begging, really....Yes I'll be president!!

Well I went shopping today - said I would not buy any new clothes for this trip but I have lost 25+ pounds and my clothes are too big on me :)

So I went to Lane Bryant (lost weight - but not that much) and was really excited to see that lime green is an "in" color this spring :) They had shirts, sweaters, pants, even bras and panties in lime green! I did get me a shirt in lime green and got a non-lime green dress that is so commfy.

So much for no new clothes for this trip - this is like my 4th new outfit!

Now I have to go unpack some other clothes to pack the new clothes!

Wow, I didn't think this would turn out to be 'scar wars'.
Grlzmom, you win, I was 35 and already had my kids when I had my AVR.
We need to ask Dee to add a new spreadsheet for 'scar wars'
Cheers, Jennifer

The main store at DTD has a pirate section.

I think that if everyone knows there is only one board and one location they would make it a point to check it at least once a day. We have a long way across the pond so I think people would have time to do it.

Well, not a hole in his head... but my ds, Gavin, has a 6" scar on the back of his head from a Craniosynostosis surgery he had when he was just 3 months old!
