...Not staying at AKL but jealous that you are and we might get over there to eat Thursday.

I'll try to make this quick: last month at Coronado Springs for my DB's convention. He had a horrible breakfast experience at Maya Grill - bad service, bad food... The next morning I was going to join him (& SIL) for the Market, but I suggested we try Boma buffet at AKL instead, though it would be cutting it close to get back for the meetings. He was enthralled; loved the food, the waiter from Jamaica; he promised the waiter he would be back the next day - and they did go back - I couldn't have that much food again to start the day. Am so glad to be able to share these fun places with them. They would have been stuck with a bad taste (sorry) of Disney.

Question for any experienced cruisers. How do we find out and sign up for special seminars and other things DCL is offering? I mean before you read about them in the Navigator and then the opportunities are long gone or all filled up? And inside information?

Also, I know you get a Nav each afternoon/evening in your stateroom and can pick it up even a bit earlier sometimes from Guest Services BUT will it have information about things happening days in advance or is there a different publication that list that stuff or ????

Check out the following link to see what they hand you at Embarkation. It lists the nighttime entertainment for the entire cruise, attire for each of the evenings and a whole lot of stuff that you can just go check out. I just selected one from a December 7-night cruise. The Navigators have a new look since then, but will contain the pertinent info.

A lot of people make beelines to either the Port Excursion desk (just to your right after having your entry to the ship announced or to Rockin Bar D (or Wavebands - check the Welcome Aboard Navigator) for Palo reservations or dining changes.

...Are you ready for how much this procrastination cost me? Sit down, and prepare to feel very very self-righteous for being so much better prepared and organized yourself....$250. on top of the regular passport fees!!!!!...

I was going to kid you about those medical tourism trips - meaning you were working on your gender reassignment surgery - then I saw how much a quickie passport costs :scared1: and think you really need a

I've been out shopping the past several weeks and think I have spent as much in local stores as the cruise fare was - amazing how much that "great deal" is costing us.

But you are going to look fabulous in that $14 solid-beaded gown.

For those who've been online for the past several months, many of you know I had to step down from DISboards, due to problems encountered on the part of DCL ... the second time in the past two cruises that problems developed just prior to cruising. In each instance, I was able to rectify the issue (with outside assistance), albeit, with less than one week prior to sailing date. No doubt, this has caused untold hardship and inconvenience on our end. For the most part, the many month of planning are all but shot, and in some instances, we'd had to rebook hotel, and air fare.

The good news is that Donna and I will indeed be sailing on the cruise. Our new stateroom is #7032. Please take a moment to note this on your Mini-Nav, as I understand changes are not likely to be made or added.

Having signed up as a participant for FE#1, we will indeed be distributing the 150 FE's we purchased previously. We'd also like to participate in the Stateroom Tag, which we had been signed up for, previously.

A month or so ago, I asked if there would be someone willing to take over my slot as organizer for alcohol tastings, as well as Game Day and the Magic Fountain event. I did not receive any messages on these topics, but believe others may have stepped up to lend a hand. Since this is not listed in the Mini-Nav, I am not sure who (if anyone) to touch base with, or, if anyone is actually taking over these positions.

Also, having previously signed up for the Group Palo Dinner (may have incorrectly indicated LUNCH in PM's), I am not sure if my reservation is still valid (I did not get a cancellation, or recent confirmation). If anyone has any information on these situations, please contact me via PM or e-mail prior to Friday afternoon. Donna will have her cell-phone in use until we board the ship. Are we still meeting in the terminal, off the the left of the escalators?

Lastly, having previously started the process for a meet-n-greet with DCL staff, it appears as though this will come to fruition. I am waiting for the confirmation (which had been put on the back burner, til the initial sailing issue was resolved).

***Please make sure you check for updates - either at the terminal, or at the Promenade Lounge (3:00 - 3:45PM), embarkation day.

Yes, it has been frustrating for us, but we have some satisfaction that we WILL be sailing. See y'all soon!
popcorn::

Oh, BTW ... we made a conscious decision to book our upcoming 2012 Baltic's cruise on ANOTHER cruise line.

Is someone paying people to visit our thread and post so we can get to Part 5? :goodvibes

No, I think all the folks who will be enjoying the Magic in Europe (and on the way home) want to make sure we take good care of her! :lmao:

Was going to pay bills or trim door signs after watching LOST tonight, but I had to get on the DIS and head over to the LOST thread...what an AMAZING episode. :thumbsup2 How am I going to survive the next two weeks without it (most likely won't be able to see it on the ship)? I know....I'll drown my sorrows with BBCs!

Think I'll just go to bed early and have a couple of hours in the morning before work to take care of the odds and ends that need to be done. Tomorrow night is packing. The most difficult thing is deciding what will be my travel outfit...guess I'll just go for comfort. Emberkation day I MUST be in lime green!

.

I've lost my dining room table. All the little things I want to pack are on it. I am impressed by people's packing. I can guarantee that for 2 people we will have 4 bags near the weight limit. I love to bring things. Right now I am planning on leaving a lot of gadgets behind, but I am bringing an entire back-pack of card games!!!! It's going to weigh a ton.

I'm also jealous that everyone gets to leave work early. I'm working until Friday. Probably late. I'm nervous about flying same day, but what can I do about it now.

Ahh... Desmond. "See you in another life, brother." Glad we didn't miss his episode while cruising.

But Disney owns ABC - I want my episodes while at Sea. I might even make it back to the ship from Seville in time to catch it.

I'll also miss Amazing Race & Survivor. And always Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. That's my Must See List.

Hey, Lynne, you can tease me anytime. Especially as you are in the healthcare profession yourself. They DO do other kinds of surgeries there, you know....

Lynne, when I saw your wonderful graphic of the ship listing to the side I promised myself I'd make myself a magnet of it. Now I can't find the copy I made of it. Would you mind putting it in again? Thanks!

Steve and Donna - WELCOME BACK. I'm delighted you'll be sailing with us.
Ann

...Please take a moment to note this on your Mini-Nav, as I understand changes are not likely to be made or added.

No more changes are being made on the master list - Dee has to pack at some point; individuals can mark their self-printed Mini-Navs with the info.

Any room changes can be reported to us in the Terminal or at the 3:00 Meet & Greet or by posting on the Central Message Center - see Mini-Nav for Brooklyn 's stateroom

Ken (disdel) graciously stepped up to the task of Tastings coordinator as well as leading us in Stateroom Tours.

Krisann and family will be heading up Game Time for us at the 1:00 timeslot - when we don't utilize it for other DIS activites :rolleyes1

...Are we still meeting in the terminal, off the the left of the escalators?

We will meet in the DCL Terminal somewhere in the lobby, in a location that will not disrupt others with our large, unruly crowd. Look for an area with a group of people that does not resemble a nuclear family - near seating - across from the check-in queues.

Lastly, having previously started the process for a meet-n-greet with DCL staff, it appears as though this will come to fruition. ....

Keep an eye on the Central Message Center on Stephanie's (Brooklyn) door - if you can find it among the magnets - for the time and location of a Meet & Mingle with DCL CMs. This is not listed in the Mini-Navigator.

.

I guess if the satelites are aligned properly it could be possible, at lest maybe the first week. I know the folks in the UK get the show a day later...or the following Friday or something.

I so LOVE Desmond. Did you see him (Henry Ian Cusick) in The Gospel of St John? He was a wonderful Jesus.

Here are both versions:

Why am I unable to print Stephanie's Journal? Everytime I attempt it, it loads the first page and eventually prints page one and then freezes. It never un-freezes, usually I have to power down. I am so inept at computers...but this should have been simple.

Tooth pain started acting up over the weekend. It's been determined that a root canal is necessary but there is not enough time prior to trip. Hopefully the antibiotics knock out the infection and I make it thru the trip. Otherwise I will be dieting earlier than expected...since I wont be able to eat!!!

For all of the organized - :worship:.....for the rest - I feel your pain:eek:

So much to do...I should be packing not attempting to print Journal:rolleyes1. Looks like I may be calling in to work, using the root canal issue as my excuse. Feel bad because pain ok and I do not need to go back to dentist BUT I still have a To Do list a mile long!!:scared1: Calling in may be a necessary evil:headache:.

24 hours to perform a near travel miracle...although Ann , you get that destinction!!

Jesus with a Scottish accent? It could work. :lovestruc

I don't know how much I'd like him as an actor - have only seen him in LOST. It's Desmond and that accent and his love for Penny.

Thank goodness for DVR...I'll be catching up on my favs when we return - better late than never...also, good to have the shows to watch while i take my time to unpack..

DVR makes me happy. I am at the point that I tired of explaining to people that I am infact not super wealthy for going on a 2 week cruise but in fact a bargain shopper.

I had the same problem when printing the journal also - it only prints the first page...I worked on it for 2 days...and still no success...not even my "techie" DH was able to figure it out....

It just went off here. Love it. It took a couple episodes for me to get back into it this season, but it's really good now...and love Desmond & Charlie too. Hoping we get abc on the boat...you're right Disney does own it, so....maybe? There's always abc dot com but not sure they offer a LOST package. Oh the minutes...oh the horror. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I know it's 18 pages - but - have you considered only printing one page at a time and seeing if it can handle that - do all the odds and go back and put the evens on the backs?

>>No more changes are being made on the master list - Dee has to pack at some point; individuals can mark their self-printed Mini-Navs with the info<<

---I was asking people to note this on their Mini-Nav, since, apparently, no changes were being made online. I did not ask anyone to print or pack anything - just to make notes on their own Mini-Nav. I didn't think it was a big deal ... especially since I signed up months ago. My apologies, but I didn't screw up my reservation. Should I bring me FE's, or leave them at home. How do I find out if I still have reservations in group Palo's dinner?

Again, nobody contacted me about taking over any of the events. Who is handling Magic Fountain? Did someone else compile a list of attendees and stateroom numbers for the various / individual tastings? Most of the information I gathered (names and stateroom #'s) was via PM. I'm confused.

So, changes are being posted in Promenande @ embarkation, AS WELL AS Stephanie's stateroom? Would somebody please add this to those boards?
