...8 people, 25 nights if cruising ended up with 7 suitcases and 2 carryons that basically have consumables in them. More luggage than I wanted but each bag only weighs about 25 pounds.

...

OMGosh! You are so good!!! :worship: I keep taking things out, putting some of them back, and STILL think I'll have more than 2 bags for only two of us....ugh. Been busy w/ :laundy: & still have lots there, so scared to even start putting things in the bag....:scared1:

A strange thing happened - we got a credit for $3.80 from DCL don't know what it is for. Did anyone get a credit?

No credits here. Wow that's a tiny one or I would think it was a fuel surcharge refund or something...? Oh well. better than a charge. :goodvibes

Enjoying everyone's progress...giving me a vicarious sense of getting things done... :cool1:

Wow! You win the most efficent packing award for sure! Last year we sailed with 6 of us and we had one full size piece of luggage and one smaller bag/backpack/carryon size for each of us:scared1: and yes the case of water, the FE suitcase, my messenger bag, the stroller, the Beverly Hillbillies got nothin' on us! :sad2: 14 pieces total:headache:

DH said he would never cruise again unless I found away to pack lighter  But by Wed of our week long cruise? He was asking me to check out the TA cruises:confused3

Sure wish I was going to DTD, I need an Earl Sandwhich, craving it and have to wait until our trip in DEC, so close and yet so far away. . .enjoy.

I'm upset that I had to pack that much. Usually for 9 of us on a week long Caribbean its 4 suitcases. Now we need jackets, walking shoes, 25 nights on the ship, too much stuff, blah blah blah.

Hey I'm an Earl of Sandwich ADDICT and my whole purpose for going to DTD glad I'm not alone in liking the Earl!

I bet you don't have too many suitcases this trip :)

...procrastination is the biggest nation in the world!!!

But it's a very positive country (pro-)

Apparently the folks on the Med got anywhere from a few dollars to $27.

I'm in the gang:

Today was garbage day (for the next month my dad or sister will have to take care of it at this house).

Temps in the upper 80s - I just turned the heat off last week. I could use the A/C, but I decided just to be a little warm. Would like to see a utility bill under $250 - this was a long cold winter. And I think our new windows (in our 40 year old house) actually cut a fair amount off the electrical bill.

According to my iPod, the weather in Nassau, Bahamas will be low 80s this week and 76 and mostly sunny on Sunday. Night time only drops to the upper 60s, so water temp shouldn't vary.

Two sources for water, one says April average water temp is 76; and

From
http://www.discover-eleuthera-bahamas.com/bahama-facts.html

And did you know that the water temperature in the Bahamas hardly ever drops below 72° F (equivalent to 22° Celsius) near the shorelines?

We keep measuring water temperatures on the shoreline of the Atlantic side of Central Eleuthera. Here is what we're usually finding...

24° C = 75° F Winter
27° C = 80° F Spring
31° C = 88° F Summer

We had a hail storm today, I look outside at break and there was 1 inch of the stuff on the ground.

The upside is I just got my bag bag packed. Checked bag 37 Pounds
Carry on 13.

It is ALMOST TIME:thumbsup2

Garbage Tomorrow --- By the road already I hope it doesn't storm

One Last Minute Thought For Everyone

more shirts purchased & tried on w/ the capris - :thumbsup2 and bills paid.

stopped by CVS & thanks to your input, I was able to get the vacation override for my meds...will pick them up tomorrow (didn't want to wait tonight).

Can't believe we're almost at embarkation day!!!

And a few more prayers needed. This group sure is facing the ISSUES!!

My DS's marriage is a mess and his wife of 10 years and his handcap son are moving out on Friday for a supposed "trial seperation" which is mighty well planned as far as I can tell:rolleyes:. Not sure if I am more glad we are not going to be here or more upset to be away when he may need me. Mostly I am just very very sad about the whole mess and still praying things work out somehow. He and his son have spent 8 years with each other every single day and night. This is going to be very, very hard for him.

so sorry

Grass mowed, everything that can be done tonight is done. I am exhausted....but tomorrow is coming!!!! Anyone else at AKL?

I seriously think the more people you have the less you pack :) I don't like unpacking so it's easy to not pack it. I am a laundry slave, literally.

So glad you got the vacation override for meds. Apparently we have the worst insurance.

Not staying at AKL but jealous that you are and we might get over there to eat Thursday.

I am usually the person who is up at 2 AM finishing packing on the night before a trip. I swore that this trip would be different. So I actually started packing yesterday and I'm almost done! I can't believe it! I think you super-organized people here on the DIS must be rubbing off on me.:thumbsup2

OK so I'm the one who still was up until 2 AM. Finished and got to bed for 2 hours. But, at 9 AM it was wheels up, and here we sit outside Ocala, visiting the FIL. This time tomorrow will be in DTD, and Thurs/Fri EPCOT and around the World. Fri. night dinner with a CM friend, and see y'all Saturday.

Oh, and Mon. night was also TRASH night for me, as well as recycling, the once a month bulk stuff we had a ton of, AND a special pickup of metal and appliances. Mas BenGay, por favor.

Is it time to start counting in hours yet??????????????????
Pretty Pleeeeease:)

Less then 56 hours until I leave my house,
less then 68 hours until we touch down in Orlando,
less then 81 hours until I am in the DCL terminal!!!!!!!!

And finally??? less then 84 hours until I am on the SHIP!

See ya real soon!

Just watched the UCONN women win the National Championship-- GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!

Still trying to figure out the new camcorder, have to do a final check tomorrow on what is in the suitcases. I have to remember to take the three cardboard boxes with all the fun stuff in them.

LET THE MAGIC BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question for any experienced cruisers. How do we find out and sign up for special seminars and other things DCL is offering? I mean before you read about them in the Navigator and then the opportunities are long gone or all filled up? And inside information?

Also, I know you get a Nav each afternoon/evening in your stateroom and can pick it up even a bit earlier sometimes from Guest Services BUT will it have information about things happening days in advance or is there a different publication that list that stuff or ????

I don't think you'll have any problems getting time in Flounder's on this particular cruise, as it's has such smaller amount of children compared to other itineraries. :thumbsup2

Boy, I SO don't want to go to work today. At least it will be busy and should pass quickly. LOST is on tonight so that will cut into cruise prep time a bit, but Wed night has been left wide open for final assembly!

You, know, all we really need is passport and a pile of cash! :lmao:

.

:rotfl: And YOU are bringing MY pile of cash right :lmao:
.

Just wanted to stop by and wish you all a safe, happy journey! Take good care of the Magic - I'll be boarding it July 6 for the Baltic, lol.

Bon Voyage!

Grass mowed, everything that can be done tonight is done. I am exhausted....but tomorrow is coming!!!! Anyone else at AKL?

We actually are, but..... it is the most convoluted visit we have had. We get there late Thurs & then change rooms on Fri. am -- both studios at Jambo (sp?) but one is concierge...the second one I hope! lol Where are you guys staying there?

Hey I'm an Earl of Sandwich ADDICT and my whole purpose for going to DTD glad I'm not alone in liking the Earl!

OK, but WHICH sandwich do you crave? This inquiring mind needs to know (for this inquiring stomach).

Well. we fly out tomorrow. I told ds he has to go to school and we'll pick him up a little early to go to the airport (more for the peace of his being out of the house than for a concern for school attendance). Today was going to be last minute errands before packing tomorrow.

Are you ready for this pathetic revelation? I took ds and dh to the passport office weeks and weeks ago to get their passports. Luckily mine was still valid since I've done a couple of medical tourism trips to Bangkok. And I knew just where it was stored...

I've been searching for it ever since. My house has never been so organized, as a result of my going through everything. I knew it was here, so didn't even consider declaring it lost.

Sunday my dd informed me that the time had come to bite the bullet and pay some extraordinary amount of money to get a new passport super-fast.

Yesterday I made one more effort, but still didn't find it. So today I spent the entire day assembling documents, getting photo'd, waiting in line at passport office where they put everything in a sealed envelope which I took to FedEx who overnighted it to Chicago where someone will hand-walk it through and overnight it to me in Kissimmee. I'll have it on Thursday.

Are you ready for how much this procrastination cost me? Sit down, and prepare to feel very very self-righteous for being so much better prepared and organized yourself....$250. on top of the regular passport fees!!!!!

Plus the entire day, which means the errands didn't get done. Oh well, there's always tomorrow until 2:00.

One suitcase packed. Lots of piles of stuff still on the floor ...happy evening to all,
Ann

Jeanne is the best, most EFFICIENT packer I know. I am truly amazed at her mad packing skills. :thumbsup2

Nice! It's coming up SOON! Yay!:yay::cheer2:

Oh Ann! How awful. BUT know that the trip will be worth every penny to get that passport so that you can GO!
