can someone tell me about them? Are they always offered to everyone? Are they usually only for the upcoming months or might they be like a year out? Are they generally any better than the standard discounts offered throughout the year (FD, % off, etc.)? I'm goign next week and I plan on going back for sure in Jan. or Feb. so want to keep my eye out.

Bounceback offers are discounts given for a future trip that must be booked on or before your check out day as you have to be staying at a Disney resort in order to be eligible. The offers are usually put in the room by housekeeping, but if you don't get one, you can call 8844 from your room and ask if one is being offered and what it is. If you do book, the reservation can be modified at a later date (pending availability), but once you check out, you are no longer eligible to book one. It's hard to say what (if any) will be offered, but the BB offers I have seen in the past have been free dining and room discounts as much as 40% off the room rate. I think the bouncebacks that are being offered now are good for trips through mid December. If there is a bounceback for early 2013, it probably wouldn't be until November or December that it would be offered, but it's really anybody's guess what will be offered and when. HTH :).

In Jan. we had a BB offer in our room for 35% off deluxe resorts, offer was good thru 12/15/12. Sometimes it is free dining.

I doubt you'd get one for next year yet. If you got one, it will prob be till Dec 2012. Too early for 2013 dates.

I have used BB for two years. The first year I got an offer in my room (FD) and the second year I called from my room even though I didn't receive an actual offer (FD again). Both years I have used it for a year from the time I booked- we go Sept every year.

It is very unlikely that you would get a bounce back offer that would be good for next year. Generally, the bounce back cards come out around August or September, and they contain dates which will run through the next year. In other words Aug/Sept of 2011, a bounceback card would be issued which would have dates through December 2012. So right now the bounceback cards/codes should still be for dates through December 2012, and the 2013 bounce back dates would be available until August or September. We have been in May before, and our bounceback was only good until the end of the year. If you go in the fall, you are often lucky enough to get dates running through the end of the next year.
It also seems kind of random as to exactly what the bounceback is-- if you are going during free dining, sometimes you won't get a bounceback offer for a room discount, but only for free dining. I guess housekeeping picks up all the regular cards and replaces them with the free dining cards bounceback for a certain time period?

We did not have a bounceback in our room one year that we wanted to use it. If you don't have it, don't give up. The front desk may tell you there isn't anything right now (that is what they told us), but don't give up there either. We later talked to a different CM at the front desk, and they went in the back and got us a card. I later found out that the better way to get the card is often to talk to housekeeping because they are the ones that put them in the rooms. It is not uncommon for someone to take the card home with them (once you have booked a bounceback, you can later switch your dates if rooms are available for other times), and then housekeeping doesn't notice and doesn't replace the card. The best way is probably just to call 8844 and ask. I've only had one time where they actually asked me for the code on the card.

TJDisneymama- chances are the answer to that question is yes, unless for some reason the cards are late coming out. We have been there in December and booked a bounceback for the next December more than once.

I agree that you will probably not see a BB offer for 2012 dates next week. You will probably get the current offer to December 2012 (see copy of flyer below).

Lately the BB's have run in cycles. There's usually a room only BB that starts sometime in Oct/Nov that has dates into the next year. That's what came out last year and is still being offered right now, and is the one that will probably continue to be offered until the FD BB begins again sometime in August (last year that FD BB came out around 8/8/11).

The current Room Discount BB dates offered were 1/1—1/5/12, 1/8—1/12/12, 1/16—2/8/12, 2/12—2/18/12, 3/4—3/10/12, 3/18—3/31/12, 4/29—5/26/12, 6/3—6/9/12, 8/5—10/6/12, 10/21—11/3/12, 11/11—11/17/12, 11/25—12/1/12 and 12/9-12/15/12:

It's 35% off Deluxe and Villas, 30% Mods and 25% Values.
DISer ancestry kindly posted a copy of the flyer that was in her room

The FD BB that usually starts in August is to be able to book a FD package a year ahead for the next years FD dates. Last year DISer jgraney posted a copy of the FD BB flyer from their room:

This is the bounceback that I had in my room:
FreeDiningBB001.jpg

It runs from 8/17 thru 9/27/2012. Quick service for values and regular dining for the moderates. Be on the look out for this in your room.
Looks like maybe general public will maybe eventually get this . Lets hope!
The lady at the reservations said it was first placed in the rooms on 8/8/2011.

(This FD BB is the offer people booked a year ahead last year for this years FD - notice that the dates offered to them in their BB are different than the FD offer that just came out. The FD BB was 8/17 - 9/27/12 compared to 8/25 - 9/29/12).

After the FD BB ends, probably sometime in Oct/Nov, the cycle will start again with another Room Only BB will begin and will include dates into 2013...

This could always change at any time though! Just remember to call 8844 from your resort room BEFORE checking out :cutie:

If I'm reading the BB card right from the values, it says x $$ for EACH person?? Sometimes the rooms are not much more than that. We had an offer not long ago for not much more than that. So the dining not only isn't "free", but seems to actually cost as much or more. Am I missing something? :confused3

When we stayed in May/June 2011, our bounceback was a discount off the room for select dates in 2011.

When we stayed in October 2011, our bounceback was free dining checking in late August through September 2012.

Free dining has been offered in Aug/Sept for quite a few years, with free dining being offered other times of the year when Disney saw the need to fill rooms. You can usually count on a free dining promo in the rooms during Aug & Sept as those are slower times of the year with school starting and it being hurricane season, but normally BBs offered prior to that time usually only go through mid December of the current year.

In order to get free dining, you have to pay rack rate for the room as well as purchase park tickets. The amount per person that it's showing also includes tickets, which for a 5 night stay would most likely include a 6 day hopper for the example. So you're not paying $81/nt per person for just the room, it also includes tickets and is just broken down into a per day cost.
