Bounce back offer? - free dining or room discounts?

Maybe I made this up but I thought I saw previous bounce back offers for free dining. But when I talked to a Disney CM, she said they don't offer free dining bounce back offers. Does anyone know if the CM is correct?

They have in the past, usually offered to guests staying in August and September I think? And they were for very limited times in the following year. There is a section of the Resorts forum up top entitled Discount codes and Rates. If you look around there you can probably find out more.

It's a bit hard to read, looks like 5/30-6/6, 6/30-7/5, 8/11-9/9, and 12/8-12/20 were teh times free dining was offered for 2017.

Yes they offer free dining OR a room discount for all the bouncebacks that we have booked. Our last bounceback we got free dining and I was able to pay a fee to upgrade it to deluxe dining. But I personally prefer the room discount offers. And as Georgina mentioned in her post, they usually offer these in the month of August (which is the only month we travel to WDW / book bounceback offers).

Ok yes, that's what I thought! I didn't have great connection when I talked to the CM my phone was breaking up so maybe I misunderstood her. I think too that's what she was trying to explain the above that only certain parts of the year get free dining or room discounts. We'll just have to wait and see which happens for next year and what she is able to give us. Thanks for your help!

Dates that are included for the following year have varied quite a bit. Early on, only dates in the following August & September were included. The last few years, the dates have been more randomly placed throughout the year.

Then in early October , it has been a room discount for dates the following year. That offer has then remained til the next August. It has been that way for probably 8-10 years.

It's probably safe to say we're getting room discount. We're going Feb/Mar of next year.

Last October we scored a bounceback offer with free dining, regular (not QS). It was for dates in Nov and Dec 2017. So guess where we're spending Christmas! Keep in mind that if a bounceback offer is available you need to book it before your vacation is over.

Super long story but Disney is going to honor the bounce back offer for us even though our trip ended in February. The deal with the CM is that we get the better discount, whether it's bounce back, room only, or dining. We just have to wait and see what pops on the website this fall for next year and apply the best offer for us.
