Good afternoon all. I have a BRV trip scheduled for end of January. This will be my first visit to this resort. I’m looking for any tips tricks or resort specific activities I should check out. Any advice would be much appreciated. It’s a family vacation and will be me my wife and our almost two year old daughter. Thanks!

In the BRV lobby you can see carved animals all around the edge of the ceiling in the woodwork.

We were just at Boulder Ridge villas. We enjoyed the boat more than any bus. It dropped us off where an almost non existent line for security was at the end of the pier. That reason alone made the boat worth it to us!. Yes is accommodated strollers however if you took the open air boat you did have to fold up your stroller. The kids really enjoyed the pools and the splash pad for the younger kids There are also outdoor games behind Geyser Point. They had foosball and connect four among other games. Enjoy your stay!

Is boat more fun? Also is it easier with a stroller? Thanks for the replies so far everyone lots of good tips!

I guess it depends on what your goal is. The experience on the boat might be better than the experience on the bus. But the wait for the bus was shorter and the ride was shorter.

Wonders of the Lodge tour is free and gives a good overall scope of the Main lobby area
Be sure to factor in some down time to enjoy the fireplaces
Take a walk outside to hear the crickets chirping along the flickering lantern walkways
Listen for the ever so faint western themed music in the background
Look for wildlife early in the AM amongst the pines
Grab a small bite and favorite drink in Territory Lounge or Geyset Point
Grab a book and enjoy a nook, there are lots of them
Boat around the Bay Lake and stop at Fort Wilderness for breakfast at Trails End or check out The Contemporary
Grab breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe for a hooping hollering good time to jump start the day
Just enjoy the peacefulness of the place after a long day in a park

I would recommend the hidden mickey scavenger hunt!
I didn't see it mentioned, but they keep a hint sheet at the front desk to help you. Everyone has mentioned great things to do while there but a couple more are s'mores at the fire pit near Geyser Point and family movie night which is also near GP but on the water side, I believe.

To answer the question about renting a boat, we rented a NITRO boat for 2 hours of bass fishing. It was my grandson's birthday so he and his dad took off early (7 AM) for the trip. They had a great time. It was "catch and release" but he did catch quite a few fish. Wasn't cheap. I booked it through guided fishing experiences on the Disney web site. (That's not what it's called but something about extra magic). I
think it was in the $270 range.

There is a great splash pad for the kiddo by the pool on the Wilderness Lodge side. The two-year olds that I was with loved that area!
We always took the boat to and from MK. As long as we got one of the "big" boats we didn't have to fold up the stroller. There was one time that we got one of the smaller open-air boats though, and we had to fold up the stroller.

Its far from hidden but I LOVE Geyser Point. Sitting out in the area for the EWP is nice too.

Also the common area CAN be extremely quiet at times, particularly later.
