My friend just called Disney to buy an Annual pass (we all live in Arizona). They sold her a Southern California Select Pass. I told her that I thought that it was just for Ca residents. She said that she told them she was in Arizona. Will she now have trouble using this pass? Do they ask for ID (CA driver's license at the hotels or parks)? I don't want her to get there and have a problem....

She can pay the difference to upgrade to a regular AP...that should take care of the problem!
We are out of state as well and also have APs

She won't have any trouble. Noone will ask for ID. Except maybe the CM who processes the AP - but since you already have the voucher, I can't imagine that person not honoring the voucher. I live in Washington and have had a So Cal AP for many years and have never been questioned about it. If she can live with the black out dates, she got a great deal.

I believe, unless they have changed it recently, the name is misleading, since they allow anyone to use buy and use them. For the most part it is "geared" toward those in SoCal because they are the most likely to be albe to go during the week when it is good.

Since they sold her that pass I am guessing htat you will not be going during the weekend or any holiday periods? Check out the Block out dates on disneyland.com and you will see that there are many days that the SoCal Select is not good. In any case if you have to upgrade there should be no problem. You will simply have to pay the difference between the value (what you paid for it) of the select and the cost of the new pass.
