I am really committed to doing this trip solo. I just bought my airline tickets--Continental--non-stop from Houston. I was able to get great travel times--leaving at 7:40 am (I can't sleep the night before anyway, so why not go ahead and leave!) I'll return at 2:40 p.m. I figure that will give me time to sleep late, pack and eat a late brunch before going to the airport.

The non-stop part is the best though. It is so difficult to make connections in those huge airports when walking is a challenge. My experiences with the "courtesy carts" haven't been hte best either.

So now I have my room reserved, paid the deposit, bought airline tickets, and I'm going later today to AAA to get 5 day park hopper for $225

Then I just have to finish paying for the room, reserve my ecv, and save some money so that I can eat while I'm there! ! !

Can you tell I'm getting excited....I can do this!

Hi Piper

May I add a couple of suggestions. These could be based on both distance from the airport as well as your mode of transportation.

On occasion, with early morning flights, we have spent the night before at a hotel at or veryu close to the airport. Many airport hotels also have special rates, for example the last time we had an early morning flight we stayed at the Marriott actually on the airport grounds, and the $79 rate (plus tax) included parking at the hotel for up to two weeks; we would have paid $54 just for the regular econmoy parking fees.

This way we were able to get to the airport, have dinner, and not have to worry about either traffic or parking to be able to get to the terminal two hours before the departure time. Since with a 7:40 flight you would normally have to be at the airport before 6:00.

So, depending on circumstances, you might want to look into some sort of overnight deal.
