Thought of another VIP question...probably dumb to those in the know....but here goes....

I know you can buy re-fillable drink containers at different locations but what about for those of us who do water? What is water costing in DW these days? Do the parks have fountains? Will the snack shacks re-fill empty water bottles at their taps? AAHHHH.....I'm so confused!!! What if I die of dehydration?????? :confused3

Hi,

According to the menus at allearsnet.com, bottled water is available at most snack stands for $1.25 and $2.00.

The parks do have fountains, but Central Florida tap water is not the best tasting.

I've never heard of snack stations refilling water bottles for you. You'd have to do that at a water fountain as far as I know....

The snack shops will give you a large cup of ice for free. We used that & filled our bottles at the water fountains. SBella

We take one water bottle into the park with us (from Wal Mart - cheaper than Disney). After we're done with that, we refill it from the water fountains that are all over the parks. I do NOT like the tap water at Disney resorts or even at the offsite resorts. But the water fountain stuff seems to be OK and I'm not that tolerant of a nasty water taste.

There's no chance you will die of dehydration. Water fountains are everywhere. If you can't find one, check outside any bathroom. Seriously, I think water fountains rival the numbers of trashcans in Disney World. I don't really drink anything but water so I know just about every fountain at Disney World.

We always ask at the Cs locations for a glass of ice water if we don't want to buy a bottle of water.

I use the now defunct Brita Fill-n-Go filter sport bottle (can be found on ebay). It saved a good deal of money for us as dh and I are water drinkers as well. I found a few online--do a search for "filtered water or sport bottle" and that should turn up a few. We would fill up all day at the various water fountains at the parks. Newer ones from sport stores filter out more than just chlorine and chemicals, but they can be pricey. Just another option for you to entertain. :drinking:

seems to me we paid $2.50 per bottle in disney parks. We bring a case of water from home and partially freeze three bottles and takes those to park every morning. It adds up I swear we spent $100 on bottled water.

That's my fear!!!! :sad2:

That and dehydration!! LOL!! ;)

Thanks all for your answers as well!

We were just at WDW a few weeks ago. Bottled water (Dasani) in the parks was $1.25 and $2.00. I don't remember the size of the $1.25 bottles but I think they were less than or right at 12 ounces. The $2.00 bottles were 24 ounces in size which I didn't think was too bad of a price for Disney. (I think a 20 ounce bottle of water at our local amusement park is about $2.75 or $3.)

Dasani out of vending machines at the resorts were $2.50 for the 20 ounce size.

As others have said, if you can stand the taste, the snack stands and restaurants in the parks will provide you a cup of ice water for free.

I tried this last October, and it worked great! Just walk up to any CS restaurant and ask for a cup of ice water - they'll often give you a large cup! It's good-tasting water, too - not Florida tap water. I hate lugging a bottle of water around, sothis strategy worked great.
