Hi!
We are flying out of Boston 3/21 and am trying to find the best rate for parking for a week. Right now I am thinking of parking at Wonderland (I think it is $5/day but I don't know if that is in the garage or an open lot). Anyone know of a good place to park a car close to the airport? We are driving down from Maine, so if there is any place along the way that is a little farther out that is ok too, and I would prefer it be north of the airport since we are coming down :) I am also open to a park and stay type deal since our flight is around 9 am, but I don't want it to be significantly more. Any help would be appreciated. I have been searching but haven't found anything spectacular. Thanks!

Hi! Where in Maine are you driving from? If your flight leaves at 9am, you'll need to be at Logan at 7am. How early would you need to leave your house? My sister lives in York, which is about as far south as you can get in Maine, and she said with parking at Wonderland and taking the T to the airport (which requires a bus trip from the Airport T station to the terminal), she'd leave her house by 5am at the latest. With 3 kids, I'd consider a sleep/park/fly arrangement rather than leave that early, so you don't start your vacation exhausted! Check the link katieeldr shared, or look for hotels in Revere and Saugus that do park and fly with airport shuttle. Also, the chain hotels on Rt. 1 in Peabody are nice (marriott and hilton brands) but I don't' know if they provide airport shuttle- they're a bit further from Logan.

Another thought would be to check out C&J Bus (www.ridecj.com). They travel pretty much hourly to the Logan terminals, and run from both Portsmouth, NH and Newburyport, MA. Both bus stations are located right off I95, stations are clean/nice, parking is well-lighted and free. Bus tickets aren't necessarily all that cheap, but kids under 12 ride free with a paying adult (so 2 adults = 2 free kids) and kids under 5 ride free if they sit in an adult's lap. Round-trip adult fare from Newburyport is $42; from Portsmouth it's $46. I think the Portsmouth bus station is much nicer and parking lot is bigger than the one in Newburyport, and you don't have to pay the toll on I95 in Hampton, NH- $2 or $3 each way- if you get on the bus in Portsmouth. It might be worth looking into.

I would think twice about doing the outdoor parking at Wonderland. When I was commuting from the Wonderland T station for work, my car was once stolen from the outdoor lot!

PS- I am curious about your user name. Do you do NMR?

$5 is oudoor parking. Garage parking is $12 per day. Here's http://www.bing.com/search?pc=AMAZ&form=AMAZWB&setmkt=en-US&q=logan+stay+park+&+fly a Bing search for stay/park/fly options; if the link doesn't work you can run tge same search in whatever search engine you use.

Thanks. I was pretty sure that those were the prices but wasn't 100%. I have searched for park and stay, but the prices seem so much higher than i want to spend. So far the cheapest is about $160 which isn't too bad. Just need to figure out if we can get down on Friday night. Thanks :)

We are about 30 minutes north of Portland so I was thinking of leaving by 3:30ish. We flew out of Manchester last time and had to leave around 2am. Not the greatest start to a vaca lol. I am totally open to going Friday night, but I don't want to spend a significant amount more to do it. Most of the hotels on the park/stay sites are closer to the city and closer to 2-300/night. I will check out that bus too. Thanks for the link. We usually park at wonderland when we drive to Boston, but I am a little reluctant to leave my car there for a week. *sigh* Hopefully I will figure it out soon since we only have 40 days left! Thanks for the help :)

And my user name is for Nomar Girl. I am a big Red Sox fan and LOVED Nomar when I was younger. Now I just automatically pick that as my user name :D

We use C&J bus out of Portsmouth which is great. Kids 18 and under are free, not 12. They also leave from Dover, NH.

Sorry I don't have any other ideas for you.

We use PreFlight parking a lot. It's a lot less expensive than parking right at Logan. And they pick you up right at your car and take you to the airport. Then, return you right to your car. No, it's not covered but it is secure. It can be a bit hard to find but with GPS you should be okay.

I second goofy4tink's suggestion.

If/since you're coming down 95, another option is Logan Express from Peabody. It's located only a few feet from where 95 and Route 1 meet, so you probably want to exit 95 in Danvers - either the exit just after you get into Danvers, or Centre St.

Logan's economy parking garage serviced by Massport shuttles is $20 per day. C&J is a nice way to go as long as the bus you are trying to catch is not packed full, like it sometimes has been in the past. Plus their parking lots are full of snow right now.

I thought about Logan Express (I grew up in Peabody) but I wasn't sure how much parking they have or how safe it is. OP, what about Concord Coach from Portland? The bus terminal is at exit 5 (I believe) off 295 in Portland (Amtrak goes from the same location so you can follow the train signs). Kids under 4 ride free (one per adult) and kids 5-11 pay half-fare. Round-trip adult fare is $42, so for all of you it would be about $126; parking is $4 per 24 hour period. Southbound buses start running at 3:15am and the last bus heading north is at 11:25pm. Might be easiest way around, especially at the hour of the morning you'll be traveling. The 5am bus would get you to your terminal at Logan at 6:50am.

Thanks for all the replies. I am checking out all the options and hope I can find something that will work for us :D
