AAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
:headache:

my boss is great. oh wait, i am the boss. cool

TRade ya.....my boss is a nun.....the kind that gives Catholic schools a bad rep!

UPDATE: Well, i quit the day after my original post --- a week ago.

One too many times he said "if you don't like it, there's the door".
One too many times I had to hear him humiliate another (younger) co-worker.

So I did. After 11.5 yrs working there. Just packed my stuff, finished something I was working on (as a courtesy to my co-workers), hugged everyone goodbye, shook his hand, handed him my key, & left.

:teeth: :teeth: No tears. It felt so good. :teeth: :teeth:

Only tears came a few days later, when DH & I had to make the EXTREMELY HARD decision to have to cancel on the custom condo we had a deposit it on. Since construction hadn't started yet, we didn't loose any money. But, I've devastated over not moving into our dream place. :( So, we'll just stay in our current condo where we have little left to pay on mortgage, and DH's salary can handle the bills.

Very small office of 6. Only 3 of us there all the time. I was the first one there in am, and last to leave at night. I was also the go to person for questions since others fairly new. His loss. :lmao:

Oh.....and the co-worker he humiliates...... had an interview Monday. Got job. Waiting for offer this Monday. Can't WAIT for her to tell him she's leaving too!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks. I've gotten nothing but support from everyone - which for some reason is a shock to me. I thought for sure someone of people we know would say "you're crazy for quitting without having another job first". Maybe because that's how I always thought.

No pressure to find a job (of certain pay) now that we are out of condo deposit.

Does not sound like the kind of leader who inspires his employees. By quiting so abruptly I hope it doesn't hamper your job prospects for the future.

Congrats again on telling him off!

I had to do the same in a similar situation.(though I didn't walk out,but gave them 2 weeks)..small office..I was first one in, last out...dedicated with a true work ethic, etc...he was a total jerk and impossible to deal with..it didn't matter how hard you worked if he didn't like you on a personal level or he just felt like going off on someone......leaving was the BEST thing I ever did!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that you had to put off your plans....pixie dust to you that it won't be for long!!!! :sunny:

LOL Taylor. True. But not in this case. I was the 11th person in 6 yrs to leave the small office of 6. Tell you anything?

OH, and hopefully #12 will get to tell him she's leaving too on Monday.

Thanks for your concern. I don't think I'll have any problems when I'm ready to look again. I've gotten just about every job I've ever applied for that I really wanted. I've even had people offer me jobs when I wasn't looking to leave.

I'm one of those sick "dedicated to a fault" kind of people. Smart, quick learner, responsible, always been a supervisor of some sort.......but sometimes, you just have to stand up for yourself! Fear (of change I suppose) kept me there way too long.

I've got lots of other people for great references --- including my past supervisor of that company. He demoted her when he came on board 6 yrs ago. She's the only 1 left now from before him. She would leave too if she didn't have health problems. She needs the benefits I suppose. :guilty:

Good luck on finding another job, hope you get one you want soon! I have walked out of jobs like that in the past! I have been at my job now 22 years now so doing that again is out of the question for me , plus I am a single parent so no way can I not be working..though at times I would love to just pick up and leave!
