im really starting to find vmk quite boring! many of my freinds feel the same way.... is it me or is vmk just losing it's touch?

I think it lost it's touch when things started becoming very predictable and when the kingdom began to fill with those ignorant to the "magic" if you know what I mean.

In short, I think it lost it's touch close to a year ago lol.

No, WDWmaniac, it hasn't lost it's magic. But sometimes when we do something too much it can get boring. Do you play every day, every chance you get? Do you see someone wearing green flip flop and envy them? It might just be time to take a short break. Take off for a month or so, or don't play as often. Maybe a month theme will strike your fancy and you'll feel the magic all over again.

Meanwhile try taking a break or cutting back a bit. See what happens. You will probably miss it more than you think!

I don't play as much as I use to. It just seems to predictable and I don't like the new version of Pirates or Fireworks.

yeah, to me too. it got boring :( although i loved it back then like 10 months ago.. there were so many less people. >_< and it wasn't that hard, but now to me it kind of is, because fireworks has been changed [ which really stinks ] and i cant play it.. >_< so many quests, to do, and items to buy, you never have the time to just enjoy the game. your like always out doing a quest, earning credits, and also, now that they made the ticket maker for your room, more people realized the everyone button. Now when ever i get on, i cant even get into a room! :( because its friends only. ... Well, i kind of do like fireworks but im only doing it for green car -_-

MY Opinion :sad2: :sad1:

I have to respectively disagree ;) I think the level of "magic" within vmk is in the eye of the beholder lol. For me, the "magic" was lost a long time.

I have been away from vmk for three quaters of a year. I go on every once in a while to get on for a friend or two. I get on about once every month or so for about 5-10 minutes. On average. I don't miss it at all and consider getting on the game a chore now lol.

Everyone is different, however, and I don't doubt there are down times and moments of boredom for some who later bounce right back into the excitement. ;)

I agree with the getting bored by playing to much, for myself anyway.

I have this problem that when I find something I like I give it like 500% for 3-6 months and then I end up burning myself out. I am trying to step back and not play it every day anymore.

I too have a problem with fireworks. I am fine with the new version and I score fairly well, however every singe time I have tried to play regardless of day or time I have so much lag I just can't stand to play it. Being that it is the only game that gives decent credits without having to build a team, it was my favorite. So not having that to play I basically get my NPC's and wait in line for host games and that's it anymore. I hope it gets better.

I'm bored too. The problem is you take a break for a day and you've missed 10 new pins and a surprise hat or a special TICKET to a special host room. I'm really bored with the host games. I absolutely hate playing them. They are time consuming, dull and redundant. Every month some dumb new theme and the same old recycled dumb games. Can I please just buy the Giraffe Pin? I hate the torture of HAVING to play their stupid host games just to get something. In the beginning of the month everyone is clammoring to get into these rooms with 1200 lining up and the absurdity of players asking for "rares" for this silly pin. Then by the end of the month, the market is flooded with everyone wearing 15 Giraffe pins.

Of course a few months later the pin picks up in value and BAM!! VMK starts selling the pin for 500 credits. Too much drama. :rolleyes2

So sorry you all are bored stiff by the game ..... just wondering why you bother to play anymore?:confused3

If this was a positive thread about things you would love to see VMK do it would make more sense.

Why not try posting some creative ideas about what VMK could do in your opinion to make the game more exciting for you instead.

Sorry to see the game has lost the magic for you... And you only logging in what 6 times a year... I do hope that even though your Siggy still says your a CL that you have resigned from the position to allow others who are still interested in the game move up.

Well I am sure that I have been playing too much and that is more my problem than theirs. As far as idea's go, I am not very creative so I don't have anything new to bring to the table and I did not want to be redundant but here you go.

Make Jungle Cruise give better credits so that there is more than one single player game to make credits at.

Find a way to stop VMK from being down all the time, especially on Sunday morning. There's nothing more irritating than getting up at 6:30 on a weekend to go onto VMK when it opens and then have it be down for hours.

Fix the incredible lag on fireworks. I highly doubt my computer is the cause it's less than a year old and plenty capable at handling the game. The lag has been a problem since after the first February fun day.

Make the host games worth waiting for. The first week they are great new item etc... Then like Phinny says, by the end of the month we are sick of whatever item is being handed out. Maybe have a new item every week instead of all month long. The only games I am going to try hard to get into this month is the one that gives three different prizes, and the quests.

As far as quests go, could we do something besides run around Adventureland, and New Orleans Square. Maybe it's just me but every Sunday we seem to be spending all morning in these two places only. Have us visit other places, use fireworks instead of JC. I know I said fireworks lags, and it does, but JC is so repetitive at this point and for 20 credits. I saw many people Sunday decide to forgo the quest once they missed a question forcing them to repeat JC.

I have to get ready for work and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. The only other solution is to play less often at least for me, at least for now.

Stacey-

I agree with most of what you said with the exception of the host game prizes...alot of us can not even get into the host games the first of the month and the only hope we have in getting the host prize is to wait it out and get it close to the end of the month.

So I personally like that they continue the prize through out the month.

Some days I am a bit bored but usually the opposite is true. I think part of it is "why" do you play? If you play to get all the items, then it can be a very frustrating game, if you have any sort of outside events that you have to attend. For me, the fun of the game is seeing my VMK friends and talking with them. I agree with Mal that having the "same" pin available all month is a good thing for me - for example, I still do not have the giraffe pin - I waited in line with two characters down from (in one case) 1900 plus people in line!!! At around 200 on each character (at different times) I got DC'd - aaggh. I would hate to think that I can never get the giraffe pin because of that. While I wait in line I just do other things (like clean the library and stuff or call friends on the phone) - this way it is not so boring in VMK. Well, I have gone on and on. I hope the game becomes fun again for all Dis'ers!!!

Well I think the magic left me after the ride competition. when I spent 3 full weeks working and reworking my room. Spending most of my credits to get the same prize as a person who spent 30 minutes just putting track in their room. The prizes were just not enough for all the effort so many put in.

So first point if you have 3000 entrys give out 600 prizes not 40.

Then with the lag makes playing games I like so difficult takes the rest of the magic out of VMK. Fix the lag and then VMK might not be so boring.

Make rooms sizes bigger than 15. When we have a special party have of the friends can not can it.

A board to put my pins on so I can enjoy what I have collected and others can see too. What is the point of collecdtion almost two years of pins that you can not see except in an closed window.

How about a better way to choose clothes instead of constanly clicking next to you get to that right hat. After almost two years this is getting to be a long procedure. And a closet.

Also fix the CL program. It is a popularity contest. I have tried to be a CL since day one. It says not taking applications. So how does all of a sudden someone who has played maybe 6 months become a CL. before me. I understand they can only take so many but there should be some type of waiting list. And those who applied before should get first shot at CL availability.

But I say fix the lag that is the biggest issue to me as to why VMK has lost it's magic. But to be fair I have problems on all disney sites now since they revamped them.

Let people know how VMK goes about choosing Best Guest Room, Quest and Game seems to be no rhym or reason to this. I think there should be a contact us button for people to nominate a room. So at least the room is on the staff radar.

And also a lot of my friends stopped playing so it is just not the same so I am sure part of that takes away the magic.

So there are my complaints with suggestions.

::yes:: I was thinking the same thing. I can understand worrying that you might miss some one-day special, but if you're bored with the game, why do you care if there's a sale going on? And if you care that much, it takes all of 5 minutes a day to check the Emporium and then leave.

Why intentionally do something that bores you? I find it boring to read textbooks on subjects that I have no use for (textbooks on subjects that I WILL use are another story, but I digress). I don't go and pick up a textbook in my free time and start thumbing through it.

I see people all the time on VMK saying "I'm bored". As a matter of fact, I saw someone in the Blue Bayou say that just this past weekend. I just don't get the logic there. I don't mean to offend anybody. I'm just confused.

As long as my friends still play, VMK will never lose it's magic. That's just my personal opinion. :)

I may have exaggerated with the amount I visit vmk, but I do go on to keep up with my CL status. If I was no longer a community leader, I would no longer play at all. I do have other ways to talk to my friends. I can say with great happiness and with a warm heart that many people have come to me thanking me for helping them in the game. I value my status and I uphold the responsibilty. I have no problem resigning as a CL and in time, I will. The time I never enter the kindgom will be the time I resign. I have many times thought about doing that, but feel that it is my obligation to keep up since I once sent in the application.

I wasn't meaning to "bash" vmk. I was simply stating that it lost it's magic for me. I think it's a fair comment and I have many many times expressed ways I think vmk can be improved, I was merely agreeing with the OP.

I have always been one to express my opinion on a matter and so I did.

I thought I was being very civil in my posts...:confused3 I didn't think it was a cause to be told I should not be a CL. :(

For me it's getting boring, but i don't know if it has lost its magic, or that i am just getting bored because my internet is too slow and can't play and games, or dance at closing because I will crash. It's has being losing it's magic since people started to try to be cool and try to break the rules, and people who had broken the rules automaticly gotten back their cl status, because that wrote that letter or made that call. Yea, like Front, i can't get on vmk as much as I can, because of school and life combind. So should I quit my leadership, and let some person who wants to be a leader for the wrong reason to get picked? I truely love being a leader, it does get annoying at times but i truely love it.
Right now, I think vmk should fix some of there problems, and that will bring back at least a little magic.

I agree, the people who like play every day might want to take a break if there getting bored and soon they will miss VMK.:thumbsup2
