Bored with WDW Merchandise

I feel like i was bored for a while too, but new things have been coming out that i am excited to buy in Sept. There is a lady/company on instagram and fb called disney world personal shopper, and she goes to the parks constantly and posts pics of EVERY NEW ITEM with prices. She searches high and low to make sure she doesnt miss anything and i like the items =)

I'm bored with the cheesy 'gift shop' ride and park merch. And myabe it's just me, but I want some things I would wear at home during normal life (and not just in the parks as a souvenir shirt). I wear Disney stuff around the house, but not while I'm working or out and about. I just can't get myself to wear Mickey and Minnie screen printed on a t-shirt every day.

I wish they had a fitness line... something subtle. Maybe with a hidden Mickey or two! I think I'm on to something here...

What do you think? What type of WDW park-themed clothes or home merchandise do you wish was available?

Agreed. Hot Topic sells some pretty cool Disney merch! I'm in my 20s so the dresses and shirts are perfect for me to wear in my regular life without looking like a Disney Tourist haha.

,,,,,,,I was just thinking the same thing about merchandise. I wish they sold cool weave athletic wear in the parks, and not just for men. How about some nice ladies polo shirts with a small Mickey or Minnie logo on the left chest pocket. Nice but doesn't,t scream. Disney!!!

Some nice fleece vests , again with a nice logo not some gigantic thing that takes up the entire garment.

Model these after the ll bean fitness fleece line just add a little Mickey!
They would sell a ton of this!

I just bought a Mickey shirt at Hollister oddly enough, different and I would where it in the parks or at home.

Forever 21 went through a phase where they had a bunch of Disney shirts and sweaters. Lately I haven't seen as much but I love what I did buy about 6 months back.

I love the Disney Store stuff for kids.

WDW my issues is more cost...its just too expensive. Plus they need a better fit of shirts. I hate regular T Shirts but can't do Juniors cut at all.

I miss the days where part of the fun of going into the shops was finding that special/unique item. Be it a hard to find character shirt or hat(scrooge Mcduck for me)or neat resort specific (my favorite is a dixie landings shirt) items. Now it seems everything is stream-lined in the parks and only the Deluxe resorts have a selection of items.

Disney is so $$$ crazy, wouldn't you think they would realize by now that they need to have more resort/park specific items? :confused3

People would buy 'new' offerings every trip if they'd only have it available. I love mugs, but pretty ones, not the same ole, same ole, and the last few years even at F&G Festival they don't have dated pretty ones. I have some that are absolutely beautiful.

Have almost quit buying any souvies as they just don't appeal any more. I do get a refillable mug - when they bother to offer new ones. Also, have some very nice kitchen items from several years ago, not the trashy stuff in every store they have now. :confused3

Wake up Disney!!

Years ago (early 2000s) I found a line of Mickey themed desk accessories. His shorts were a paper clip holder, the glove was a note pad holder, etc. At that time I visited two or three times a year, so decided I would purchase one item in the series each visit until I had the complete set. I bought the paper clip holder and the rest were all gone by my next visit. I haven't found any desk accessory line I like since then. Wish they'd bring that back.

Last trip I purchased a baseball style cap with a rather small Mickey head embroidered on the hat. Kind of offset to the side. I wear it everywhere at home.

But I agree that most of the stuff I see I wouldn't wear in real life. I mean really...a turkey leg shirt?!?

I suppose it's a matter of demand and ROI. They can buy 500,000 "Disney 2014" shirts at $2.45 each and sell them for $30. It takes too long to sell that many Wilderness Lodge t-shirts and if they only order 250,000 the cost goes up to $3.14. How is a poor corporation supposed to have a roof over their heads at those costs?;)

I used to love to buy WDW merch because there was nowhere else to get it, and the quality was very good. Quality and the limited variety has decreased my purchasing (though I still love to shop looking for the rare exception). :earsboy:

I just liked her Facebook page. Thanks for sharing!

I wish they had more low-key items that don't scream Disney, but whisper it! That's my style. I found only one shirt I liked this time around and my boyfriend pointed out to me it was the same one I bought at Disneyland a year and a half earlier. No wonder I liked it!

My boyfriend got the coolest shirt at Disneyland the same time I got mine. It was a lightweight, long-sleeved, heather gray henley. It has a teal and blue gradient wave across the chest and at the far end there there was a silhouette of Mikey in the same color gradient and it said Disneyland in 1" letters at the bottom corner of the wave. They need more unique, very wearable items like this!

I would love some Disney clothing that is more subtle. I am plus sized and large chested the last thing I need is a big face or words across my chest area. I would love something that is small and subtle. For my teen I go to hot topic and rue 21 but they do not carry larger sizes and they are too teen anyway.

They also have cute stuff for teens/adults at wet seal. My daughter got some adorable lion king stuff there.
