We have finally booked our flights and two lots of accommodation for our Oct/Nov trip (1 night offsite/15 nights Old Key West) and we are looking to spend our final night at a universal resort hotel to do the universal parks in our final two days.

For those who have booked and stayed before -

What is the best place to get a good deal on a one night stay? Universal site is giving me a price of just over $300 at royal pacific resort - do deals/ discounts ever come about or is that the only likely price I will get? Date of stay is 5/11/15 for 2 adults/1 child

I booked Hard Rock Hotel through Hotels4U, which were the cheapest at the time. I also got cashback. Worth checking out :)

We got ours through Hotels .com - if you join their mailing list you'll get promo codes sent to you pretty often.

I booked Hard Rock through Thomas Cook, with cash back from Quidco. The total cost was £180 last summer for a one night stay.

I've been looking to book our universal hotel for our stay in August and for our dates hotels4u are coming up cheaper than any other site. :goodvibes

I have always found ebookers to be quite reasonable. If you book through Quidco you can get cashback too.

I booked HRH through hotels.com because it came out cheapest and used Topcashback to get money back. I did that after using trivago to find the cheapest price.

It is a case of shopping around for the best price - the places mentioned above seem to offer the best value. I booked a good while back (for August) with Hotels4U who were offering the best deal at the time and I have been paid cashback already via Quidco :thumbsup2.

Many thanks for all the advice. We have now booked Hard Rock Hotel through ebookers which had a great 15% cash back at quidco. Brought the price back under £200.

Now the question I have is around the hotel perks, is it correct that the express passes are given for both the check in and check out day?
If check in time isn't until 4pm how do you get the passes for check in day?
Is early park access only valid for the day of check out or is there a way to get that on both days too?

Thanks again:)

You can arrive at 6 am on your check in day if you like! Hotel will keep your bags and you get your FOLP and get off the parks. Obviously you won't be assigned your room until later on. So, yes, you essentially have 2 days FOLP for 2 nights accom :thumbsup2.
