Has anyone had any experiencing booking through them?
All offers say "double occupancy" but you can choose the room you prefer such as "2 double beds" or "1 King". The particular motel I'm interested in has a children under 18 free policy. If I book this room through Travelocity, which has a much lower rate than Expedia, based on double occupancy, but choose the rate for 2 double beds, am I assured to get 2 double beds?

I'm sure you will get the 2 Double beds without any problem. Have you checked out the hotels own website?? Sometimes you can get a better rate than Travelocity/Expedia. It's worth a look.
I just wanted to add that I went to Travelocity and the hotel/room I wanted was $209 a night so I went to quikbook.com
and the same hotel/room was $165 a night.....Needless to say I booked thru quikbook.

Before booking anything through one of these websites, its usually better to go directly to the hotel's own site. I've noticed many instances where one of the big sites will quote a supposedly great rate, only to find that going to the hotel company's on site will show lower rates.

At the very least, be sure you are seeing all the rates available at that hotel before you chose the rate they show first.

I've booked through Travelocity twice--you shouldn't have any problem getting the room you requested. To be sure, give the hotel a call after you've booked.

I have gone to ALL the internet sites and travelocity has had the best deal on the Dolphin both times I've stayed there. Read the fine print--both times, my Travelocity price included taxes and all fees (including the resort fee!) so I saved a bundle. Just make sure you click on the conditions of your reservation (fine print at the bottom of the webpage) and it will give "includes all taxes and fees" as a condition. Print this out and bring it with you to the hotel.

Different web sites have the best prices at different times. I got a great deal on Comfort Inn Suites from hotelkingdom.com once, but no one website consistently has the best hotel prices--you have to shop around. I do agree that it is worthwhile to check the hotel's own website in case they have a Best Rate guarantee.
