I am thinking of booking through a third party website for our accommodation as it is a lot cheaper and i can pretty much pay for my DDP with the savings.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone done this?
2. Can you link this to the disney website to do all the dining reservations and FP reservations?
3. Will the Disney website let me purchase the DDP and memory maker and park tickets seperate to the hotel?

Note: I am thinking of staying at CB i have a 2 year old who will be turning 3

Yes, lots of people do. There are quite a few threads on this on the Discount Board.

Yes, as long as the third party gives you the Disney confirmation number you can link your reservation to your MDE account. Just an FYI, you don't need a room reservation to make dining reservations. And you will need to purchase and link your park tickets to your MDE account in order to make FP+ reservations.

3. Will the Disney website let me purchase the DDP and memory maker and park tickets seperate to the hotel?

I don't know about the Memory Maker, but you cannot get the DDP unless you book a package, room and tickets, through Disney directly.

Excellent choice! CBR is our favorite moderate by far!:thumbsup2

As A person who works for a hotel in mi I HATE THIRD PARTY reservations. You are guaranteed a reservation and that's it ........I know you are saving but when things go wrong not even Disney can HELP....Any requests that you make well good luck ...always call Disney and see if what you ask for is there on your reservation we never get requests.....Good Luck

I also work in the hotel industry. I have seen many horror stories with reservations through third party reservations. Reservations with misspelled names, wrong dates etc. Nine times out of ten most resorts will price match third party rates. Not sure about WDR, but I would suggest giving them a call to see if they would.

If you do happen to book through a third party, make sure EVERYTHING IS CORRECT before you make the actual reservation. Most of these third party companies have their customer support outsourced, so it sucks when something is wrong or if you need to cancel as they aren't the most helpful most times and read off a script.

We use hotels.com almost exclusively (for leisure and DH's travel which is close to half the year) and have had almost no problems at all since 2009 using them. Of course, we read through the terms and conditions carefully, know the cancellation policy for each booking, and heck for fees and charges we might have skimmed over.

That said, it's not going to work how you want it to, op. You can't book room only through an outside agency and then add the dining plan separately.
