booking the Luau question?

I am considering booking the Luau of our October trip. Do you get better seats the earlier you book? Are there assigned seats?

There are assigned seats and when I went I was under the impression that it must've been assigned by when you booked becasue the people in front of us in line where at the other end of the hall from us. We were in front on the left- but we reserved very early.
