Hi All

We are just about to book next years holiday which is going to be 2 weeks in a Villa.

We are definately booking the villa separately to a package as we want to know exactly where we are ... Any recommendations welcome!

However, I am just in the process of booking flights. We are 4 adults and 3 children. I am looking at Virgin as usually this time of year I get FVC member 15% discount (although not looking likely) and we want to get it booked as it is over October half term which sells out quick. It is coming out at £5500 which includes a 7 seater vehicle with insurence. No accommodation and no passes!!! So just for DH, DD and myself to fly there it is £2300. I know things have gone up but does anybody else thing this is excessive??

I have booked Virgin flights 29th Oct - 12th Nov 2012 for 2 adults, 3 children £2796. 29th Oct is our half-term, yet it was £500 more to fly the week before.:scared1:

£5,500 less car = £5,150 divide by 7 = £736pp, yes I think thats excessive, no way would I pay that for Oct but no-one can be sure of prices until Nov when flight prices are released, even then they could be expensive to start.
Car value is about £350 incl gold cover, thats what I have just paid for a 7 seater in August.

I wonder if airlines believe half term is the week before, not many have the dates listed yet but Birmingham council have "Half Term Holiday: Monday 22 Oct to Friday 26 Oct (1 week)"

Hi,

Have you got any links for booking flights in 2012? We want to go in August 2012, but so far, I've only found flights up to March/April 2012.

Ta.

I think the term dates are all over the place for next Oct. It is usually the last week in October, so it had crossed my mind that the airlines weren't aware that many schools will break up a week later. Luckily my authority has term dates published well in advance - however if you look, it says 29nd Oct, so maybe it was changed.:confused3
