Booking Onboard for 3 or 4 day cruises

Is it worth waiting to book onboard for a 3 or 4 day cruise? Or do they only offer good incentives for the 7 day cruise?

We know which cruise we want in 2005, and when the dates come out I am debating whether to go ahead and book, or wait for when we are onboard in 2004.

I don't remember seeing anything about onboard savings for th 3 or 4 day cruises (but then I was booking a 7 day cruise at the time).
