Booking on Travelocity.....

My dates are 10/18-10/23.

Rack rate at that time for values is $99/standard and $111/preferred. For some reason, Travelocity has the preferred view (AS-Music) listed at $90.97 per night. This is $20 a night off of rack. Total for the 5 nights would be $514 including tax.

Typically the code rates are for $10 off of standard rates.... so this would be about the same as a code, but it is for preferred view. I don't really want to stay at AS-Music, but this isn't a bad price.

If I book via travelocity and then a code comes out for my dates, will I be able to modify the ressie to get a better rate, or am I stuck with the travelocity rate?

It looks like a data entry error. All the other value resorts have the std. view listed first (at $98.97/night) with the preferred view listed second. The entry for ASMu has the preferred view listed first at $90.97/night. That "0" was probably supposed to be an "8". If you look again, they have the std. view listed at $110.96/night for ASMu!

Given that it is probably a data entry error, they may or may not honor the price. But if they don't honor the price, there should be no penalty if you cancel. It's their mistake to begin with.

Of course there's always the question of what if codes come out between now and October. You would need to check Travelocity's change policy. There might be a fee involved if you make any change or cancel a ressie. I believe that their "Good Buy" rate (and this hotel is one of them) carries a minimum $25 change fee (could be higher) and you must pay for it all upfront.

A better way to go would be to use a AAA discount if you're a member. It would be 15% off of the rack rate during regular season at a value resort and the cancellation policy is the same as if you were paying rack rate at Disney (can cancel with full refund up to 5 days prior to check in, one night's deposit required, balance at checkin).
