Quick question for those that have done it before. The activity bookings for the cruise I am going on in June has opened up and I don't see the mixology classes listen on the activities. Is this something that has to be booked once we are on the ship or will it pop up on the website closer to time?

Thanks

Mixology can only be booked once onboard. Pre-booking is for character meet and greets, port adventures and character breakfast if available. The alcohol classes you can book when you get onboard. It will say in the navigator where to go to book them and what is available. When you go to the location they will have the dates and prices as well as these aren't usually on the navigator.

I have twice prebooked Mixology classes by gathering a group of 25 total people, including myself. It was organized through the cruise meet group. In my experience if you have the numbers they will do it.

A follow up to this question. We will be on the Fantasy 7 day eastern. In the past - what mixology classes were offered?

There aren't different types of Mixology- Mixology is a type of Tasting class.

There are different Tasting classes offered- Beer, Wine, Whiskey, Tequila, Martini and Liquor/Chocolate are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

There have been recent reports that the group-specific private mixology classes are now scheduled on port days.

I sailed on the Fantasy last May (sold out departure) and they had 4 or 5 mixology classes throughout the cruise. However, being on a large ship like the Fantasy the tasting classes fill up FAST!! I wanted to do the champagne tasting and the mixology. I think we got onboard around 12 or 12:30 - had lunch and then went to sign up for the classes sometime around 1:30pm and everything was pretty much sold out. There was one seat left for the champagne tasting and I literally had to beg and plead for 4 seats. I got the last two seats for ALL of the mixology classes and my parents got the last two seats at the wine tasting. Sooooo - if you really want to do one of these tastings make that a priority when you get on board.
I'm travelling on the Magic in a few weeks. I made sure we got the earliest boarding time and the first thing I am doing is going to sign up for mixology. It was super fun and lots of tasty cocktails!!

With the mixology as well it depends on the bar tender running it the cocktails they do so they don't have a list prior to the event (in my experience).

We are headed out on the Magic next week. I worked with DCL to set up a "private" Mixology class for our FB cruise group. We needed 20 people minimum for the class and were told these classes (at least the "private" ones) are sceduled on our sea day. The process to set it up was very easy! And we're excited to try Mixology since it was sold out when we got on our first cruise.

Know this has been reported but last month on the Wonder (shorter 4-day) I was surprised the private one attended was booked on the one sea day.

Id find out where the sign up is shortly after boarding and get there early as classes can and will fill up. If you don't really care when you go it isn't that big of a deal but if you have a preference and other activities planned, make it a priority.
