Booking hotel for January 2019

Hi all,

I really want to be able to book a stay at a resort for late January 2019. I will be in Orlando for a work event and can’t resist going to Disney for a few days by myself before flying home. But I have read that hotel booking online for next year isn’t going to likely be available until mid summer? That’s leaving me not a whole lot of time for planning! I am a planner and this is messing with my head .

For those who have booked trips for January/February, do you find that when they finally allow booking online that there’s a mad rush and suddenly no available rooms left? What is really driving me crazy is that I want to know what each hotel will cost so I can figure out level of resort I can afford. But I have no idea what typical late January rates are. I have not been to Disney in years and I want to maximize my time and get the best bang for my bucks possible . I need to know all the things! Any words of wisdom from those that have done early year trips?

Granted my trip that time of year was like 6 years ago so take this with a grain of salt. I think what I did was figure out what the rate was in the current year and go from there.

Based on my inbox, I didn't book my late Jan trip until late September (and I cringe at how much cheaper that trip was compared to the one this year)

You can probably find some decent info on historical rates and go from there.

You can book late January by phone right now, but they won't have accurate rate quotes until July.

It is a safe bet that the cheapest Value resorts will be the All-Stars, the cheapest Mod will be CBR, and the cheapest Deluxe is probably Saratoga even on cash.
